Maybe the twist is that he'll be Obama's puppet now because Trump realized he has no idea what to do as president, but that guy does and he's not in the Bush's good graces.

Wild fantasies are how I can sleep at night.

Maybe Trump told Obama he's planning to start the nuclear war right away to put us all out of our misery as soon as possible. It would be nice if he didn't drag it out, I personally want to die right now.

Just saw this on TV, with them speaking to each other. Awkward. Sorry Obama, don't share your thoughts about this man.

Give up on the "maybe he's not so bad" stuff now. It was the same thing with Bush 43. A lot of talk about unity, but as soon as he got in office he started railroading through legislation on extremely divisive issues.

And Bush was actually a compassionate, thoughtful, sincere Christian. Not the narcissistic sociopath that Trump so clearly is.

Obama's primary concern is the well-being of the country, so until he's no longer President he's not going to do or say anything that could give people more reason to be panicking or concerned, nationally or internationally.

Apparently the office of President changes those who hold it; we can only hope that will happen to Trump. I trust Obama so this is a good sign.

Best case: Trump will be middle of the road and actually fooled people to get elected.
Worst case: Obama is trying to prevent more riots and misery before he leaves.

Obama. I love you... but at this point you have to know this man has a great flaw. A weakness.

He is desperate to be liked by everyone. He tries to buddy up to the security and cleaning staff at his casino.

He will tell you exactly what you want to hear and not mean a word of it.

Oh I don't know. Maybe "America what have you done? This dude is nuts! It's over! The apocalypse is here and it sports bad hair! Everyone leave the country now!" would have been pretty bad for the markets and the overall mood. But that's just a guess.

Are you seriously schooling the POTUS right now? I'm pretty sure he's smarter than us.

If it was a 1 on 1 then maybe he saw something that we don't usually see from a person like that. I bet Trump is going to be friendlier with Obama and perhaps easier on his legacy.. I HOPE.

Obama is just ensuring a smooth transition of power. In no way does someone like him ever feel good or encouraged by a piece of shit like trump.

Bad mouthing the president elect would set a bad presidence

He probably was, Trump is an opportunist self serving man, without outside influence he probably wouldn't all the much out of the ordinary for a republican president. The issue is he doesn't exist in isolation can be easily manipulated and very vindicated. it's a matter of when not if something eventually truly sets him off. Because why would he change when he's been rewarded so much

He's following protocol and doing what he has to do. Even if the meeting went poorly he wouldn't say so, nor would any other sitting president.

Stop taking rituals seriously.

Even if Trump was putting on an act (he wasn't) take a look at the people he is surrounded by.

Barry wanted a cigarette this week like never before.

This is the first president in my lifetime where I am genuinely fearful of my family's well being. Bush for me was very disappointing and I did not look forward to his policies, but at least I wasn't fearful like I am now.

Trump needs to get out and tell his voters to calm the fuck down and that he won't tolerate racist shit. Unless/until he does that, hooo boy

Let's be honest here. What is he going to say? Of course he's going to say it was a nice discussion. Meanwhile as soon as Trump left you can bet he was like fuck that SOB.

He probably just doesn't want to send the public into an even more widespread panic.

The last thing people need to be right now is complacent.

It's also why I'm so annoyed by all these 'hey don't worry it'll be okay in the end' pieces that are flying around. This is not the time for peace of mind. The human species is on the brink.

Don't look at Trump when it comes to actual politics. Look at the people surrounding Trump.

I think this is similar to how people comfort their pets before they put them down. Obama doesn't want chaos on the streets and probably is trying to calm people down.
