I got one of these this morning but controllers were being sold "online only" and were sold out. This is just totally baffling to me.

Additionally, did Amazon sell out already or is it still on for 2:00pm?

2 PM PST, 5 PM EST.

Ok my UK model has arrived, glitchy sound in kirby, mega man 2 and castlevania, those are the only ones I've tried so far. It skips a note at the end of every other bar or so. What the hell.

Ok I've messaged Nintendo through their sales site to get this returned, has anyone else had issues with stuttering sound on their UK / European model?

I don't get why Nintendo always handles these things in worst, most obscuvated way. Even less popular stores they had people lined up to buy up the stock.

My BB order online still says Preparing. It's not due to arrive until later in the week (by Friday for sure). Is it just waiting for UPS to open back up tomorrow before shipping....?

Damn, people getting too crazy for this thing. Lining up 50 strong at the stores lol. Most of them are probably scalpers too. Now I'm scared for the Switch. Hopefully I can get a preorder. Gonna go ask the local Gamestops later.

Amazon: it's out for delivery

Me: it says it hasn't been shipped

Amazon: it's in the dispatch process

what the literal fuck
It's happened to me before. I always end up getting the item in the end and in time.

It might have something to do from the Amazon buliding that it was shipped from.

Yeah but how can it go from:

1) It's dispatching tonight

2) It's dispatching today

3) Nah, it's dispatching internationally to somehow appear today

4) It's out for delivery

5) It's in the dispatching process

...

edit: guy literally just typed to me "to be honest, we have no information here. We only see what you see so the other colleagues were making up information" lol

Nintendo has turned just finding one of these into a boss fight, or at least a rare Pokemon hunt or RNG loot drop.

Yay Nintendo! Thanks for adding a metagame to your games!

Controllers are basically nowhere in the UK. Wish I'd ordered one when I had a chance...

Additionally, nostalgia gripped me and I went out and grabbed a few Nintendo books from the local bookstore. Super Mario Adventures comic collection and the hardcover Playing With Power which looks gorgeous in the cartridge style slipcase.

There's not much Playing With Power coverage out there so I'm pretty excited to flip through it. If anyone on the fence over it has any questions, I'll gladly try and answer.

Would it be more appropriate to start a RTTP to talk about some of the games on this thing than posting here? I ask because I am playing SMB3 and feel the need to talk about how it might be the greatest game of all time. It's definitely on the short list.

How in depth are game coverage? Is it stories of the making of? I'd hate for it to be just old interviews with miyamoto.

So it seems the USB port on this thing is fully wired for data so the chances of hacking just got better! Might actually be worth the asking price then

Does Amazon Japan ship to the US? I assume it's a whole different account system as well so I would need to create an account?

Yes they do. I followed the link that someone on here posted that shipped international.

And yes it's a whole new account you need to make. I used the English version of the site to make an account and ship it.

Just watch out when you make it. I got scared because Amazon sent coordinates to a wrong place. I had to use an alternative address to correct delivery which was my actual house address

That ain't Nintendo's fault.
Yes it is. The purposely didn't allow preorders and it feels like trickling out stock. It wasn't acceptable for amiibo and it isn't acceptable now.

The only people this low amount of stock benefits is scalpers and resellers.

Is anyone purchasing either of the EMiO products? The Advantage or turbo controller?

Has anyone heard about the quality of either controller? I am hesitant as neither are Nintendo products.

From the other thread:

Nintendo presents it to retailers six to eight months ago, who write minimal orders. Nintendo uses that to forecast demand and then places the manufacturing orders many months ago as factory time in Fall is incredibly scarce. They unveil the system and the hype greatly exceeds their forecasts. They try to book more manufacturing time, but find limited capacity left from their suppliers. They likely have small orders in, but will likely not see a large increase in supply until early 2017.

People claiming that the scarcity was planned have no understanding of modern supply chain management.

That said, the lack of second controllers is really weird and makes me wonder if they had a production defect/issue that limited yields.
Bs. They didn't allow pre-orders because they knew it would be extremely scarce. Nintendo themselves should have loads of them available from their very own website. They clearly wanted to ramp up demand as always. It isn't rocket science.

Wow it's kind of amazing this thing is that popular. Knew it would be big with video game enthusiasts, but the reports of Black Friday type lines around stores is clearly bigger than that.

I have an actual NES and most of the games on cartridge so I'm not too worried about, at least not enough to stand in line for one, but if I happen to see one sitting on a shelf in the future I'd definitely pick it up.

Just saw people issuing 1 star reviews on Amazon because of the limited quantities. I understand there's high demand but those people need to relax lol

If I can't get one today in 3 hours then whatever, Amazon already said they are expecting more shipments.
