Anybody know what's the best extra controller? I know the cord is really short so I was going to go check out and see if there was a better controller to buy to go along with my order :/

As annoying as the rarity factor is.. I'm glad this is doing well. I hope that means there might be other classic systems made in the future.

Hate me GAF! :p

I have no idea what you are talking about. :p When I click on the link, I get this: A bunch of Mini NESs that gold sold a couple of minutes ago. When I scroll down, 90% of the listed items are Mini NES consoles.

Yeah sorry, the app and web site, using the same links you guys are giving are completely failing me. I'm completely wrong on this one, though eBay is deceiving me too! It's showing all the sold Classics for you guys but for some reason showing me literally none.

I'm a retail buyer and I can tell you the stores I supply received 7% of the units I ordered from Nintendo back in August.

Jesus. That is not good. I wonder if the controllers had some sort of problems. That could explain why both the controllers and the systems themselves suffered such a under shipment.

After a million site crashes and refreshes, i THINK my order went through and I got a confirmation email.

So I either got zero, one, or fifty.

Yeah, I did it on the app with Apple Pay and it said it went through twice, but I didn't get a confirmation...So I either got 2 or none as well. Probably on the none side though lol.

My friend couldn't get one this morning and is at work now (very strict no cell phone rule and no computer access) so now it's on me to try to order one, and of course I miss GameStop lol. Still have hopes for Amazon, which is my preference anyway. GameStop.com can fuck off with all the shit they've pulled on me.

I think I'm going to cancel my order from Amazon.

I keep going round and round in circles with their craptastic CS. Think it's time to cut my losses and move on with it.

I managed to get a confirmation via GameStop and it hit my card. However, I'm not seeing it in my order history. Hopefully that's just a site glitch at the moment.

What's the URL for the controller?

I can't find one. The odd thing is this morning the controller was that same link I put up and people were complaining that they sold the controllers before the console. Not sure if anything ever went on sale controller wise though.

But then again, it is just easier to assume that Nintendo is either incompetent or don't want your money. Either way, you're going to have to wait as more reach the market.
How about I go ahead and call them incompetent. They could monitor demand through preorders. What a novel concept! But we can't even preorder for a future shipment, so instead they are going to make a tiny amount and throw them into the wild on a whim.

They sure caught up with Pokemon GO+. Oh wait they don't know how much to make because you can't preorder them

Nintendo's brand power is so insane.

People released new Genesis, Atari and Intellivision for the last 10-15 years and no one ever gave a shit.

Ehh... The original Atari Flashback was pretty well received back when it was first released. The first few flashback's were pretty cool too as they could be modded with cartridge slots and even had instructions/ drill holes ready inside the machine for people who wanted to do it . But the latest Flashback 10 or 12 or whatever isn't really that big of a deal.

Sega has been licensing their hardware out to just about anyone, really. The current Chinese Genesis throwback machines are just kind of poorly made in some respects. They still suffer from broken audio.

Pee-Wee Herman's Talking Doll was a top ten seller? That's funny. I also feel bad for those kids who got an Atari 7800 as a Christmas present over a NES. In all honesty, the 7800 wasn't that bad, but it was really dated hardware by the time it was released. The Sega Master System didn't even chart. Pretty cool to see a sales chart from the '80s.

That was me :'-(

Man. It was arduous, especially since I was trying to do it on my phone in the grocery store, but finally got my Gamestop order to go through (mobile site, app kept crashing). I was constantly getting errors and "site unavailable" but finally got one in cart, managed to log into my account, etc. Each single step (add to cart, log in, verify shipping, confirm payment) must have taken a minimum of 10 refreshes each with a minute or two of loading. Same thing happened last night, but I never made any progress past getting it into the cart. Glad it finally went through and got confirmation email.

I'd like to give it to my two nieces for Christmas, seems appropriate. It's also nice knowing it's not sealed so I can open it to "make sure it works." That's what my parents did when they bought one for us all those Christmases ago.

I just got a second one completely by chance. I stopped by the Marine Corps Exchange to grab some uniform items and they had a bunch just sitting around.

So if you have military friends, have them check their military exchanges. They seem to be well supplied.

Any controllers?

As long as they reprint these I don't care about an initial shortage. I just want it because it's adorable.

I can still play the games in the meantime.

Ya, same here. I have an AVS so I'm all set. I'd like one for collector's purposes and like you said, it's adorable.

This morning I saw 1150 NES classic's on sale on ebay, as of right now there are 3500 and growing every second. There were 1500 completed (sold) auctions, thats gone up to 2800 in 4 hours. So its definitely selling but maybe not quite as fast as new auctions are going up.

It is sad how many people are getting ripped off paying 100-200% markup from MSRP, but I guess if you are super busy paying an extra $100-200 and not have to watch web sites like a hawk is worth it. Fucking Nintendo though, they could have easily let retailers make pre orders a few months ago and would have had a good idea of demand.

I just hope the Switch isn't the same kind of fiasco, although I fully expect it to be at this point.

BTW, Brickseek is inaccurate. There's a Walmart near me that says there's 12 in stock but I just called and they said they're completely out.

Got mine, the Famicom Mini is also on the way. I own most of the games already, but I don't care, this one's gonna look really cool in my collection.

I waited 13 hours in the freezing cold to get my Wii back in 2006 (and I worked at IGN at the time). I anticipate that I'll need to do something similar if I want a Switch at launch (and I most certainly do). I do not expect that there will be much in the way of preorders for this console, but I am happy to be proven wrong!

To be fair, the genesis emulation on those machines aren't perfect, keep getting re-released constantly.
Agreed. They come out with that Ultimate Mega Drive Collection built by Sega in a mini Mega Drive and while it may not do as well as a mini NES, it'll do alright.

Ah hell, give me an ultimate Sega console with arcade ports, MS to Dreamcast and I'm in.

I dunno man, the Wii U was easily obtainable at practically every retailer at its release.

It's been confirmed that the NES classic will be shipped to stores for the next few weeks, so I would expect the rarity to vanish quick (in Canada at least).

I'm predicting that there's going to be a 3-5 second window to grab these on Amazon before it's all done. Basically, you have to hit F5 at the perfect fucking time and then fly through the checkout process

So, I know the classic controllers from the Wii will work, but has anyone found out if these work...

They were released for Smash Bros, and unlike the real gamecube controllers, these plug into the bottom of wii remotes, just like a classic controller.

Yeah, and the Switch will be released in March so I doubt availability will be all that bad. As long as they don't treat the Switch similar to the limited edition 3DS that they love to produce in such tiny quantities for scalpers. It will also depend on price, if the Switch is $299-349 it wont sell out at launch.

That's not how I remember it. System sold well during the holiday period and then scalpers returned them in January.
Really? It was widely available everywhere, scalpers started to return them rapidly when they realized they weren't going to make any money on them lol.
