I found a vagina in Watch Dogs 2 and Sony suspended me (Update: Ban lifted)

Welp, we have an AO game rated M for some reason.

Why did the ESRB not slap this with an AO?! Full nudity, sex or no sex, is still an AO in ESRB's book but somehow it isn't.

The difference between M and AO is "sexual content" and "graphic sexual content" according to the ESRB. When you can argue appearing nude in a game is "sexual content," it is a jump to suggest the depiction of a full nudity should be an instant AO. Putting depictions of nudity on a logarithmic scale simialr to that of an earthquake is quite simply stupid. There should be no difference between nudity been frequent or infrequent - it is still nudity.

Damn Ubisoft! I bet Anita Sarkeesian preparing for the next video like

Dude breaks pretty much every single rule out there, and immediately posts a thread on GAF whining about being suspended and not being able to "play a new game that relies heavily on online features," and he gets sympathy, too. GAF-only, I'm telling you.

I don't get it.

More like Sony charges $50 a year for access to an online infrastructure that focuses on sharing content, allows games with adult content to make use of this infrastructure, and then demands that it's customers censor themselves because they can't be bothered to but don't want to deal with the PR backlash of having adult content available on a service that children can use.

Is there any credible source for this aside from Twitter? Something smells fishy

You dont need to pay nothing to use PSN and the share feautures. (Only Share-Play is tied to PS+) Unlike Xbox live, amost all feautures from PSN are free. (Just online play, cloud saves, share play and free ps+ games are tied to a subscription)

Many strange posts in this thread. Its a vagina. Women look like that between the legs. Ok its uncommon to be modeled but why is it a problem" or disgusting? Its just a vagina.

You're primarily going to see it on dead women, from the looks of it. Basically sexualized gore... which is weird and slightly rapey.

You lost me here.

Is it yet another game in which you can participate in the murder and debasement of women? Yes. And yes, that's generally a problem. Is it rape? Not unless you can actually rape people, no, it isn't.

I'd say online play is kinda a biggie. It's the reason these networks were built to begin with.

Autocorrect.

It obviously isn't literally rape. I just don't see why you need a detailed vagina on a video game corpse, other than to giggle at it or whatever. But I think it's firmly in "weirdly sexualized" territory.

The responses in this thread are as bad as those who say "my gamerzone is underground and I was unfairly banned for swearing on Xbox LIVE". That shit doesn't excuse you to swear like a sailor on a service which makes it clear how you are supposed to be behave online.

I'm going to quote myself, because no one else seems to get it.

So basically M rated games shouldn't be streamed? Then why do they not block it?

The share function on ps4 is used to propagate your Whats New PSN feed. So when you press the share button to post on facebook, twitter, YouTube, etc... it automatically adds that post to your PSN feed so all your PSN friends and followers can see it on their Whats New feed at which point any of them can flag it for Sony to review by hitting the report button.
I see. Thanks for the info.

Still, the ban is dumb as hell. At least it's only temp.

GAF, is this progressive or sexist?
...Neither? It's just nudity.

But naked men are expressing their freedom, naked women are created by the evil mind of sexist developers

Great, straw feminism under fire again

So that's what a vagina looks like. Blech.
Hahaha

"I accidentally killed a prostitute in an alley"

lmao

Seriously though, you shouldn't get into trouble for something that's actually in the game. Really weird stance by Sony.

That fact that you any many others seem to think this is a bigger issue than the nudity in the game.

Wonder if it was also done on purpose to stir up controversy/publicity. Now every horny teen will want to get the first AAA game with vulvas

I actually do think it's a bizarre and tasteless inclusion.

I'm not offended by it and don't want Ubisoft to recall the game or apologize, but I personally find it to be in poor taste.

Nudity is whatever, but the "lol look at this dead lady's vag" thing is odd.

Can you imagine being the guy that has to model dicks and vajayjays out of polygons

Can you imagine being the guy that has to draw dicks and vajayjays out of graphite and paper? carve out of clay? model out of polygons?

It's just figure/anatomy art guys.

How can they expect me to fap to such a low res vagina texture? It's so blurry it looks like I'm trying to get off while wearing the wrong prescription eye glasses or something.

Guess it's not the Pro version. Where is DF when we really need them?

Why would there be a recall? Why are you talking about Hot Coffee? ESRB already knows that full nudity is in the game and it says it in the rating. Did you even read the thread?

i don't personally give a fuck, but i'd be surprised if it didn't happen.

There is no reason for a recall. This is not an accident. All involved parties highly likely knew what they were doing at every step. Breaking this taboo is a good thing for the medium going forward, and is the most newsworthy item to come out of this whole supposed incident.

Why is everyone so up and arms over nudity, but are very okay with graphic violence? All of it should be allowed, I don't understand what the issue is that they modeled actual vaginas on their characters.

As for being banned for posting it, I mean it sucks, but I would have known not to share something like that for the sheer chance that I would get banned.

I came across the panty vagina myself today while playing. I also encountered a cross dresser in the lgbt neighbourhood of the game. I didn't have a chance to check, another player ran me over, but I imagine if you go peaking up skirts you might get a penis too.

Considering the humour of the game it could be a joke easter egg for upskirt perverts.

some parents are going to find out about this, say they bought it for their kids, and it's ubi's fault that it doesnt say NAKED PEOPLE in giant letters on the front of the box, and complain... in my opinion
