Blizzard working on a new First Person game

LOL @ Single Player suggestions. Some of you guys haven't been paying attention.

I mean sometimes things change.
Hearthstone has SP content after all.

Overwatch SP with MP exclusive skins and stuff stuff tied to it would be a similar model.

Cool Facts: Game of War has been a hit since July 2013
Maybe they're making a 1 person game and it's just a port of No Man's Sky.

Well, that's hype. Gotta think Overwatch campaign is most likely but deep down I still want Ghost.

It would be such a twist if they made a hardcore military realistic tactical fps.

Market needs one. They have the ability. And overwatch just sounds like a Socom subtile. SOCOM:The Overwatch

Not sure I would want a full-on sp campaign for OW from Blizz. I would rather see objective-focused PvE stuff sort of like Destiny strikes or even raids that also incorporate some of the mechanics unique to the TF2/OW model.

Example: big levels containing multiple objectives that two teams complete in tandem in separate instances, complete with three arena "convergence points" where the instances overlap and the first team to make it there gets to prepare defenses first. The team to win at least two of these convergence points gets to go on to fight a boss battle.

Just spitballing here, but for OW I would rather see more co-op PvE than SP stuff.

It was originally seven different gameplay modes taped together, but they canned all of them except what Overwatch is (though obviously it changed a fair deal).

You, for example, also lived the day life of the superheroes, doing things like running a bakery.

Oh god that sounds like Recettear

I mean, it's wishful thinking for a company that doesn't want to make what we know as single player games. Small SP scenarios that essentially work as a gateway drug or in the case of HS as almost a prerequisite for the MP, doesn't count as Single Player Campaign to me. HS Adventure content is a far cry from that.

At least no one is expecting it's gonna be offline I guess.

I would be totally down for either an Overwatch campaign, or a rebooted Starcraft Ghost. However, something new would be just fine with me as well.

It has to be a mistake. They love to milk their games, so it has to be Overwatch related. It's unthinkable that they might be working on a new IP this early. It would be shocking coming from Blizzard.

It could be a game that utilizes existing characters, like HoTS.

Or maybe they're gonna take a swing at CS:GO.

Knowing Blizzard, I bet it's gonna be another copycat of a currently successful genre with their own upgraded formula.

Yeah, I think Battlefield + Blizzard IP sounds about right.

Don't be so sure. Blizzard is often prepared to work long-term.

I mean, remember that Overwatch came out of the ashes of Project Titan, which started work in 2007. 2007. It came out this year, almost a decade later.

I'd love it if it was an Overwatch campaign/story mode/etc. I definitely would not be upset if it was something new or an existing IP though.

Could be! As long as it's fun, I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Was going to say: "See you in 10 years."

Blackwatch, the Overwatch expansion

It'll be a Darkwatch reboot with the focus on Reaver

Valve decided that they needed to shut up Half Life cultists, so they hired Blizzard to make Half Life 3. If it sucks, they can blame Blizzard.

Part of me feels that because Blizzard is A) a pretty huge studio and B) making money hand over fist from MP service games, they could do a triple-A tentpole game with an SP/co-op campaign whenever they feel like it. Kinda hoping that's what this turns out to be.

If that's the case, I also hope it's written by precisely zero human beings currently working for Blizzard.

Overwatch 2 pls!

Edit: not sure if serious, but I wanna spam some internetery anyway, so...

Wh-what?? Overwatch is in its infancy. Blizzard will push the shit out of it for as long as it's successful before they abandon their firmly-mounted position perched atop that cash cow that is investment in OW.

Plus it has tons of potential for expansion, not just in modes, maps, and heroes but in actual scope.

I think they are going to slowly expand OW into what Project Titan was. Almost certainly not all the way, but through iteration they can make a Hero Shooter into a hell of a lot more if they need to. Overwatch could evolve in a ton of ways, and I absolutely think Blizzard has specific ideas in regard to this.

Blizzard could release updates of the kind that would make OW relevant and money-making for another 5 years (minimum) easy.

Just figure out whatever is wildly popular that blizzard hasn't copied yet and that's your answer.
