I really like everything about this but I struggle pretty hard.

I'm super terrible at progressing through the first story mission in Paris.

Look at the game as something where your first mission will be messy and loose. Replaying them brings out more of the professional, cleanly acted themes the game really has going on.

Do some Opportunities if you have those enabled. They'll generally guide you about.

Save often. Before you do anything risky make a save. Then if you screw up reload. The game can be as easy or as hard as you like.

The levels are HUGE. Way bigger than what the franchise has seen before. It can and propably is a bit overwhelming at first (I was delighted to feel this way when I first started this week), but as you do stuff by trial and error your brain starts to remember places and recognize patterns which all makes it more smooth for you going forward. In no time you'll have such a good grasp of the place that you can think of elaborate plans to achieve very specific conditions.

I really wish I bought this game as the episodes were coming out because having everything makes the game feel too aimless. I don't know when I should move on to the next map unless I make myself personal goals and i'm terrible at that.

I've been getting to Master Rank 20 on every map before moving on to the next. I was worried about the same thing you was but doing it this way really helped me not feel overwhelmed.

Maybe focus on working towards a specific unlock that you want for each location before moving on. That way you learn the levels, improve at the game and get valuable new toys to play with. Exploding cellphone is a game changer.

Do all the challenges, or at least reach rank 20 mastery so you get all the cool gadgets.

I did all the challenges before moving on but I played them as soon as a new episode came out, so I had a month between almost every release.

One goal could be to do a clean run, a Silent Assassin Suit Only run, those are really fun and not that hard when you've learned the level.

I've been playing the old Hitman games for the first time and I really want an opportunity in Season 2 for a Nightvision usage. Make a room totally dark, kill the target and leave without anyone noticing.

The possibilities seem pretty endless for Hitman maps. So much potential. Heard some mentioned in this thread which would be cool.

- Prison Map
- Comic Con Style Map
- Cruise Ship

These would be awesome if done right I think. Sure there's loads more too.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
How do Escalations work? I just got Master Assassin Challenge on ICA Facility and want to get that TAC-SMG by doing the Escalations. They are not like Elusive Targets are they, where if I fail I cannot do them again, correct?

Correct. You can't save mid-mission, but you can restart or retry them as many times as you want.

The Sapienze bonus mission has a mini Comic-Con style thing in it, which isfun to watch.

Any way to change the UI language in this game? It's currently in danish (my native language). Not sure why though, steam and windows is set to english.

How does the PC version run now? I bought the first episode initially, then when Sapienza released it seemed to have problems and ran really badly, so I refunded it and bought the full experience on PS4 instead. I've now fully completed it all there and so might go and do a fresh start on the PC. I've got a 4690K and a GTX980, on a 1080p TV not a monitor.

Say I buy the retail version in January, does that mean I get a discounted price on seaso two episodes? Im looking forward to this game but dont have the time right now to focus on multiple games

The 3rd episode is just weird, man. Something's off about it. Not enough opportunities.

How did you guys like episodes 4-6?

3 and 4 are maybe the weakest. I like the city map from 3 a lot, the problem is that there are very limited ways to get into both the school and the embassy, so a lot of runs on the main targets end up feeling very samey

Its the reason why I rank the bonus night mission so much higher than the day missions

i think its the fact that the two targets are as far as can possibly be from one another on the map, with no especially interesting gameplay in between them

and then when you actually do get to each one, their positions are so fortified that you have shockingly few options to actually deal with them in the usual hitman ways. i'm not entirely sure there are any "normal" disguises that let you get past the frisk points to the embassy's second floor that the frisking guards won't see through, just the camera man and maybe the intern? and there's no way to the 2nd floor except past those stairs. it just feels really limiting, like your only options are to do one of three opportunities or throw coins like a maniac to get through with a different disguise

the other three are considerably better in my opinion

I somehow made three different runs on Marrakesh before discovering (having pointed out to me actually) that there's a third set of stairs at the way back of the embassy just guarded by a soldier guy. You're trespassing as soon as you cross the top of the stairs but there's nobody around and you can just duck into a closet and grab a janitor outfit super easy

Any word on the PS4 Pro image quality fix?

EDIT: seems Digital Foundry didn't find the soft edges to be a big issues despite mentioning it so that's great

The Icon was great, but I want a full-fledged movie set map
An oil rig, a Vegas magic show, a big MSG-esque sporting event (boxing or UFC), and an actual theme park would all be great too

And some more dark underworld themed levels rather than just the higher-class targets of S1

Very much agreed here. Even if the stages don't get as dark as Meat King, I'd like some targets that are just as vile as the Beldingford family.

I made a dumb contract, on Steam.

Just because no one has used this title yet.

A theme park level (one where the park is actually functioning) would be incredible. So many possibilities with malfunctioning rides, mascot disguises, poisoned concession foods, etc. I wonder if it would be too ambitious budget-wise.

The whole point is playing multiple times and trying out all the different opportunities, even those that do not appear on the Opportunity list.

Nah. I'm having fun playing it my way once and then watching Brad and Dan's play through it in the GB Quick Looks to see how they did it differently. I'm just not one to replay games (even if there's good incentive to do so) but I do like seeing others play through it while I'm doing other things.

Edit: Found out to get a sniper rifle I have to reach Level 5 on Paris so I will replay to get that. That's something I'd like to use in future missions.

There are stairs at the side of the embassy (next to the interview room) that avoid the frisking process completely. You don't need any special disguise for it either.

does anyone have any hints for efficient ways of dealing with the Colorado escalation? The fire guy is such a crap shoot.

Here is how I get him every time:
-
Lure the technician working on the van by turning off the generator, knock him out, dump him over the low wall (while your target is looking away), and hide him in the box.
-
Use a coin to lure the sleeping guy over to the same box. Dump him in the same box.
-
Now you have two guns dropped by those two guys. Drop one gun next to the fire guy and he'll take it to the nearby weapon box.
-
Shoot the oil drum next to the van, drop the second gun in the pool of leaked oil, wait for the fire guy to come back from dropping off the gun, and throw a coin to make him look at the second dropped gun.

You should be set after that.

release order is probably good just cos of unlocks. there is a story but it doesn't really make too much sense really and it's not essential, so do whatever makes you happy

So in Paris, I thought the "Quick Break" method was a little hokey for me. I had to basically face grind Dalia's guard to get him to stop following her into her office. Then I quickly had to take her out and didn't have time to ditch the body. Did I do something wrong? I followed her guard around for a while and he didn't seem to ever go anywhere secret or secluded.

My memory escapes me as to the exact opportunity, but I gather you have to separate Dalia from her personal guard, correct? If that's the case, what I've done is sneak into her bathroom, turn the radio on, choke out and hide the nameless CICADA guard that's in there by himself, hide the body, then when Dalia and her guy come in, turn the radio on again, and choke her bodyguard out when he comes in to check on the radio (or sink, if that's the distraction you prefer).

Have a question about Marrakesh which is weird:
So trying to kill Claus Strandberg by drowning him and I think I have to poison the wine glass in his office. In an earlier playthrough, it was there, but when I went there now it was knocked over and I can't do anything with it!
Why and how does this happen? So weird. Do I have to start over?
