Put It In Your MAU-th: Pork Loin leading PS4/Xbone in NA

Just saw that. It did over half their monthly sells. Those expensive bundles probably didn't equal as much as the Pro. Although we still don't know if the slim was effected by the Pro or if it just wasn't popular.
I was too optimistic about Pro thinking it could sell close to 1m in November.

I guess it won't happen but I still expect something around 500k.

I think combined Sony will sell 1.6-1.7m this month with over 1m slim sold being most U4 bundles.

I posted the number in reply... UC bundle just crushed CoD LE bundle in November... over 3x more units sold.

The huge CoD bundle was launched in December.

Yeah the reactionary posting about poor ps4 sales because of the UC4 bundle are hilarious. Especially since all we know is that according to info scout and public info is that ps4 won in two places and x1 won in two places. We have no margins or actual numbers and people are losing their shit. Honestly though pork chops are better than pork loin but I'm just a fanboy.

Also I fully expect a COD bundle before Xmas.

Oh my. Thread got interesting again. Title change and mod support as well? How could one thread bring so much interesting discussion?

Price matter more for bundles than actual game inside. If you got a good price with any game it will sell tons.

HDR 4K bluray player? Get an Xbox one S.

It is a killer feature, Sony f**ked up nor having it in the pro or slim.

The deals in the UK were insane, if I had the money I would have got the S.

Microsoft has had a great first party line up this fall, and deserved to win NDP over Sony. Will he interesting to see how Black Friday and The Pro release has altered things.

Still can't believe it, £199 for ps4 or Xbox OneS in some stores yet WiiU just sitting at £250...
It's not really a killer feature... Yet

Pork Loin can't compete long term with Sony or Microsoft. With SKUs from 2 to 12 dollars, the market can't support that many models. Big Pork needs to settle on a unified architecture.

Funny how the Infoscout thread from last year about the PS4 Uncharted bundle selling well wasn't treated with as much disdain as this one.

Last year - PS4 is top in dollar value at Best Buy. Xbox doesn't feature anywhere. Infoscout headline is a fairly dull (if factual) "PS4 Uncharted bundle highest earning product at Best Buy on Black Friday"

This year - Xbox is top in dollar value in one more store than PS4, so arguably a similar situation PS4 was in last year. The headline? "Black Friday’s Top Sellers by Retailer: Did Sony’s PlayStation get boxed out by Microsoft?"

It was a much more click-baity title this year and pretty hyperbolic, so I don't think it's surprising if the reaction was stronger to it.

What? Black Friday ended on Friday... NPD tracks up to Saturday.

Today sales are December sales.

Of course it ended lol.

Check the dates, that news piece came out early saturday morning in some parts of the US. So no, it wasn't over at the time, and no way they have enough data saturday morning to make conclusions.

Well aware of when NPD tracks to.

BF is more than a one day event these days.

NPD always tracks until Saturday after BF in November. Sunday sales are December.

NPD November 2016 = October 30-November 26, 2016

BF is only one day... Friday... it ended.

Interesting, so cyber Monday sales are a non factor for November. When is it reported for this month?

BF sales take place all over the weekend, I'm pretty sure one year MS (or Sony?) even stated a whole weeks of sales as their BF data.

Say what you want tho.

Black Friday like the name says is one day.

This report (OP report) is about BF (one day).

Any sales outside Friday is not Black Friday sale.

Maybe whatever are you talking about is the Black Friday's week that ends on Saturday but that has nothing to do with witch company won Black Friday.

I will say that at the best buy I work at, even though the BF sales were still going on that Saturday, the store traffic was nowhere near what it was on actual black Friday. It was more on par with a regular day, though everyone may have just been home watching football in my state, lol.

Saturday, Sunday and even Monday have most of the same deals than Friday but they are not Black Friday... to be fair Monday receives it own name... Cyber Monday.

I never knew that NPD stopped tracking for November after black friday. That's interesting, thanks for posting that.

November is a 4 weeks month.
December is a 5 weeks month.

December takes some days from November... that is why it ended after Black Friday.

It is like that every year you can check ;)

Oh ok, I think I get it.

No idea what the winking face is about lol. I literally never noticed that before.

Eh? Calling this gen's Xbox platform poor seems off when it shares 95% of the library with the PS4.
Had it only received 20-30% of the third party titles, maybe.
I believe the Xbox One has less than 75% of the library of PS4. That's a rough estimate using Wikipedia and not counting unreleased games.

Can you show me?
While we have no idea how Xbox One is doing versus 360 worldwide, in the US it definitely is still ahead. The NPD gap peaked at 1.97m at the end of 2015, and has since fallen to 1.77m through October. It'll go up again in the holidays, but likely start falling again in 2017. But 2018 is realistically the earliest chance to really start losing ground.

A while ago, there was information regarding how much money Sony makes per console sold compared to Microsoft. Does anyone remember that/have a link?

GAF would be a sight to behold if PlayStation doesn't take November.

Naw, the glory days are done. We have no villians anymore, no killer gifs, no cboats; we are left with off-white eggshell paint people: Krishnamurti is an old Japanese banker, Spencer is a corporate PR savant despite his motormouth, Shawn Layton and Andrew House might as well be old Japanese bankers.

Finally, now that the console releases are out of sync, there are no head to head battles and MS and Sony put stuff on PC while Ninty is on mobile.

* * *

Anyway, here are my wall of shame predictions:

Nintendo will win everything. Switch will be a massive hit. Their mobile game revenue will be greater than their hardware + ecosystem + traditional software combined for 9 out of the next 10 years.

In 2028, videogame sytems will be outlawed by the neo liberal elite because they cause global warming and make economies less competitive. They will be re-legalized in 2032, however, because the lack of neural anesthesia causes the masses to wake up leading to the potential overthrow of the neoliberal global elite and declining superhero movie revenue.

Oh, and Bill Clinton will be the first recipient of the secret cure for aging, making him immortal.

I... What... Uhhh...

What have you people DONE?

I mean, what even is this? (Besides beautiful?)

I've read the whole thing. I can't. I couldn't stop.

This is all amazing. You all should be proud of and disappointed in yourselves at the same time.

I'm just glad pork is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Years of hard work and it finally paid off.

I got to participate in the madness this time, better late than never. I'm on Canadian time though so for me a day behind US "news" is progress.

I want to see pics of a non-unified porcine architecture.

I'm personally waiting for the Short Ribs in 2017. Every year people say they're doomed, but they consistently deliver with their offerings. They don't even need 3rd parties to sustain their revenue.
