Just follow Ars feed. Don't waste your time on verge or engadget or other meta blog Topolsky come up with.

This.

Also, not being familiar with the back story, I'm not sure if EvilLore was being sarcastic or not in dubbing Topolsky the "most prominent tech journalist in the world", but I can only assume so.

When I hear of technology aimed at wealthy people the first thing that comes to mind are those gold Ferrari dumb phones.

Oh God, I missed this.

I thought the Verge was the unofficial Apple PR while Topolsky was there.

Man, I was wrong. That Apple watch meltdown
.

I don't agree with Topolaky due to his Apple bias, but as an editor-in-chief he is pretty good.

they gave the apple watch a 7 and were basically ambivelent about it on the podcast.

Josh Topolsky, probably the most prominent tech journalist in the world and fully proven in his capacity to run a major tech website on more than one occasion, or the permanently banned former neogaf member who created a twitter hash tag and then sociopathically defamed a guy just trying to take care of his sick kid as part of a campaign to establish himself as an "insider."

Let's consult the crystal ball.

I'm calling BS on this.

Topolsky posted on Neogaf or something? I'm missing context and I doubt it really fucking matters.
Personally I enjoyed him best when he was interviewing people and having a contest with Patel over who could steamroll the conversation first.

I actually like the little expandable cards thing they built for showing some different articles, but I don't like the home page where you have to scroll continuously to see other articles. I also like how the O in the upper left corner acts as a sort of home button and it minimizes the article you were reading so you can come back to it.

Some of the design choices are, however, bizarre.

really enjoying this on mobile. i only found the site thanks to following one of the editors on twitter, but i'm enjoying it more than any other "new media" outlet

The design is pretty horrible and I just got stuck going through a series of pages that were like Twitter Moments, where it was one page with almost no information and all I could do was swipe left or right.

...

They were garbage when he was there too. If homeboy could stop huffing his own farts all the time, he might be able to establish something that doesn't become a punchline after a few years.

"The Outline is a new kind of publication for a new kind of human."

welp.

Kinda ironic that Underarmor is one of their sponsors when they've endorsed Trump

*edit* whoops it was New Balance. My bad

I miss the early Verge days already. Josh and Nilay balanced each other out, without each other they each lean a bit too much their own ways.

I think it is pretty awesome. At least it pushes design somewhere, instead of the stagnant nonsense that would otherwise be praised here.

I really like it. Been reading it all morning. The layout and easy swiping from article to article lends very well to reading on the phone.

I can't stand Josh or Nilay on their own, but I enjoy their discussions when they're together (especially if Paul is also there.) Except when they'd try to talk over each other I guess, which used to happen too often.

Yeah this definitely looks and works a lot better on mobile. Still not a fan of some of these wacky character things that pop up.
