Dead Rising 4 |OT| Frank's Back NNNNGGGHHHAAAAA

I thought the game had checkpoints/auto saves? Do you have to hard save somehow?

The story progress is auto-checkpointed. There is no manual saving. AFAICT, character level, skill point distribution, PP and scrap (currency) earned, and items collected are updated regularly on the save. How up to date it is relative to when you quit, I have no clue, but it should be as current as selecting the 'quit to title menu' option.

What's the easiest way to get the game from Denmark for the cheaper price? Is it an option?

Buy 2x 100KRR digital codes from the Denmark Microsoft Store.

Be sure to check the prices on the Dead Rising Deluxe Edition app page from the Windows Store app before buying. The price error appears on the Windows Store app but not the webpage.
Also the price error only affects the deluxe edition.

To access the Danish WinStore on Windows 10 PC:

Go to settings
go to "time and language"
select "region and language" from the left hand side.
Change your current country to Denmark.

It was 174KR last time I checked.

EDIT: Not related to above (I don't know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) but the game wouldn't launch for me at first, it would just crash. If that happens try running the Windows Store App trouble-shooter.

Big UWP games always seem to have issues but for the price I paid, I can live with it.

Are Microsoft serious with the Windows store price? I was interested in playing a Christmas game at this time of year, but fuck that.

You expected it to cost less than the Xbox One version? That's not how things work.

What? Who wants that?! I'm a fan and I don't. I literally just paid 60 dollars for your game and the true ending, the one that I strive to unlock each time is locked behind another payment?

We only know the names of the DLCs and that one will include a timer. We don't know anything else, like whether it changes the ending.

Yeah I am not sure where the assumption comes from regarding the ending.
Also I am not sure which version to buy, or just wait for Steam.

Unable to launch the game on PC, it shows the dead rising logo then title says "not responding" it closes, and nothing happens. no error message.

updated to latest nvidia drivers this is on win 10 64 bit

I can already tell this is going to be my GOTY. What a great surprise. FF15, Doom, DS3...all of them are great games but none of them is as fun to play as DR 4.

There is so much stuff to find in this game.

Microsoft Store update: Contacted "Talk to an expert" at Microsoft store.

Me: I bought the code for the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of DR4, but only the Xbox One version is linked to my account.

MS Store: Oh, you need to contact Xbox support with problems with Xbox One games.

End chat.

There's a full description of the dlc and it feels like it falls in line with the ending. http://news.xbox.com/2016/10/19/dead-rising-4-deluxe-edition-pre-order/

The description of the DLC sounds too detailed to be part of the OG game's ending. It also sounds like a side mission you'll find in just about every preceding DR. My take is it's a separate story with a little added detail about the characters from the main quest line.

And who really plays these games for the plot? What do you think? Frank dies? Even if it refers back to the main plot it doesn't look nearly as bad as the bullshit pulled in Azura's Wrath.

Some spoiler free screens (it works)...eh...selfies

Wow.

So...if I liked the novelty of the mall/casino in 2, but really didn't like the town in 3 (it pretty much ruined the game for me) and never played the original, what are the odds I'll like this setting?

Well, the deed is done

Picked up DR1, 2, and 4 physical via BestBuy. Thanks to the BOGO free and rewards, got it all for just $50

Now i have 1-4 on mah XB1, so that feels pleasant :)

Well this games launch is a big mess isn't it?

DR3 suffers from poor performance on Xbox One. I haven`t tried it on PC.

I'm gonna call "nah" on this. From a complete playthrough a while back, I'd never describe it as "poor." Is there a chance you're remembering the pre-release, pre-gold issues? Several launch reviews I read at the time even commented that those issues weren't present in the release version (I played it maybe a year after that).

Why does it say "download game" on the Danish Page and if clicked, opens my app store to my region? All the other regions have "buy" and take me to checkout?

Much appreciated

Edit: Figured it out :)

We have a thread for international Xbox purchases, anyway.

I also really enjoyed the mall/Vegas setting in the second one. As well as the original setting of the first game. Although I did enjoy the third game, I felt it was nowhere near as enjoyable as the mall and casinos as the second game.

I just slightly dipped my toes into this one and haven't had much time with it yet.

What's the co-op like? I heard it was separate and had 4 episodes, but can you choose your character? I imagine it takes place in the same game space right?

EDIT: 3 text chats go nowhere, each trying to kick me to Xbox support despite my telling them it's a store listing issue.

Now on the phone, trying to explain the issue, guessing this is already going to go nowhere.

Yeah, I can't blame this on the game or Capcom, it's a Microsoft Store issue, but everyone I talk to thinks I'm trying to get a free game, won't even look at the listing as it shows up in my order, they refer only to the current listing which says "Xbox only".

Very frustrating, but I knew it could (would?) go this way.

That's the problem. It only has auto saves or checkpoints. And I don't know when game saves my progress. The 'saving icon' apparently doesn't mean it's saving, lol. Horrible design decision.

This worries me, was thinking about buying tonight not sure if the save system sucks. Didn't enjoy Dead Rising one so if this is a little easier and no timer I think ill like it.

How is the XMAS theme? That is actually a big selling point for me? Snow, lots of lights, decorations?

Does anybody know if I will be able to play the PC Version in Germany when I buy it in one of the international stores?
Because it's not available in the german store.

My Amazon pre-order was delayed due to the game selling out. Wut? Either they got like no copies or the DR4 hunger is strong.

YES!!! And Xmas music everywhere^^

How do I actually access the Danish app store page where I can buy the game? My app store defaults to Swedish prices (where I live).

Good to hear, thanks! Save system worries me but I am a sucker for Xmas or Halloween themed anything.

Last question from me how is the health system this time around? Any auto regen or do u have to constantly eat food and keep that in your inventory?

What?! It performed great on the X1. Zero loads, steady frame rate with hundreds of zombies on screen. Not sure I get what you're talking about.

It's a 720p game that regularly dips into the low/mid 20s fps. It's not that big a deal as the game is extremely forgiving but it's certainly not a good performer.

Quick follow up. I watched Giantbomb's quick look, and I'm pretty close to jumping into this just so I have Dead Rising playable with a controller on my PC (damn you DR2 and your lack of controller support!)

However, I keep seeing videos and screens of the game, and they all seem super dark and at night. Is daytime somewhat brighter? I know it's winter, but I haven't seen any clear, bright snowy screens, just dark, foggy stuff. Hoping it's not entirely that but would appreciate confirmation.

You have extra slots for food know. There is auto regen but you need to level it up.

I played some last night and the biggest issue I am having with this game is throwing weapons. No the throwable weapons but the Melee Weapons. Is there a way to throw them at things? I don't pick up a chair to just hit zombies with it, I pick up that chair to chuck it across the room.

Still in Case 2 and I really am enjoying the game a lot more then I thought I would. The story is a lot more interesting this time around. I could get lost exploring town looking for things all day. Also after awhile you do get used to the new Frank. This Case is a long case.
