This is so satisfying to play. Such a stark contrast to a certain other recent action RPG.

That was a pretty good demo!

I don't know if I'm strong enough to wait the extra week for the Western release.

So smooth. So perfect. This is true Platinum action. Voice acting is solid, too. I'm pleased.

Can't wait to finally have this game in my hands.

There are so many backtracking shortcuts you can open, but I'm not sure of the point.

Full game stuff, I guess.

I played the entire demo wondering if the game would ever tell you how to lock on. Noticed right before I started my second playthrough that lock on is locked to normal and under. Weird choice but I still had a ton of fun. The full game is gonna be great!

Hmm, from an action game perspective it's got some flaws in controls, balancing and depth.

But judging from the posts in this thread this is more of an action RPG, not a character action game. And when looked at from that perspective, it's a pretty great accomplishment.

Gonna go through it again later. Hopefully my position changes a bit on it.

Looks great though, 60 fps to boot.

I can't even lie. The combat in FFXV was the best part for me, yet this demo alone is all like "We can top that." I know, I know, they're doing different things at the end of the day, but man, March cannot get here soon enough.

Also this game's cutscenes are epic as hell lol

Controls: You do realize you can rebind everything? Otherwise the game is about as tight as I can hope a platinum game to be.

Balancing: I don't feel I could tell that from the demo on hard mode. I don't disagree that could be a concern later on, but it was very satisfying here.

Depth: VashTSB is testing stuff in his stream, some neat with the pods, jump cancels, and certain moves. Depth won't be too much of an issue even if its not as much as other platinum games methinks

As a demo, I wasn't really sold on the game. The forced camera angles were obnoxious, the bullet hell aspects tiring and the location was very samey.

(I also didn't like the first NieR, so...)

So you guys are recommending Hard then? I have played most of Platinum's games. The "restart the demo when you die" part is scaring me.

after FFXV's godawful combat I needed to play something to remind me good combat exists.

AND JESUS TITTY FUCKING CHRIST IT DOES.

I havent been this enamored by a demo since Skate

Yep, seems like Nier is in full effect :)

Game is really good, if the full game has English text in the Japanese version I might just import it so I don't have to wait.
