Does anything carry over to the full game? Probably going to play the demo either way, just wondering though.

Whats the framerate gonna be on OG-PS4? 30?

i'll have to try demos on PC and PS4. will settle on pc if it does 1440/60 with no issues.

It's 60. I don't think it even has PS4 Pro enhancements. The game came out in Japan before the Pro launched.

Sounds promising.

Is there any need to play Zestiria ahead of this game?

It's a prequel, but apparently other than missing a handful of references, you should be fine playing this without playing Zestiria.

Hell, you might like it more since you won't see all the reused assets.

Is it really just 440mb or was I looking it wrong?

I was about to go for work when I started the download. I'll get into it later in the evening.

I've never played a tales game, and am pretty naive to the franchise, but i want to try something new. Do the stories carry over from game to game or are they all their own thing?

This story is standalone even though it is technically a prequel to Zestiria.

If its the like the JP demo its pretty small and I think there is two sections to play.

Stand alone, you dont have to worry about any other games besides this one

Yeah same demo as the japanese one, really quick and short but much more enjoyable battle system then zestiria.

Haven't tried any game in the series since completing Xillia 1. Super excited to see how this one plays!

I will give it a try when it comes out in NA. I've considered myself a series fan for a long stretch of time, but Zestiria kinda felt like a burn out point for me -- I didn't feel very positively about the Xillia games or Zestiria. I don't want to be done, so I'll check out this demo and see if it rekindles anything. Probably won't quite fit the game into my January window, though, but maybe if I like the demo I'll buy it in mid to late February.

I don't remember Vesperia and Xilia 1 and 2 having this much mechanics(haven't played the last one)

So this demo did nothing for me. Never played a Tales game and the combat just isn't clicking. Guess it's a good thing since this month is packed for releases already for me.

Zestiria tried to introduce a load of mechanics and was worse for it. Xillia was the peak of tales combat for me personally

C'mon ya'll play it up and post impressions.

I want to believe the hype is true that this one is better than Xillia I, II, and Zestiria.

So, played both scenario mode and battle mode, and I have to say: it is incredibly fun mayhem. The game seems extremely chaotic at first, but after like 30 minutes I started to get the hang of managing my break souls and limiting my bursts of attacks so I wouldn't continually run out of souls. There is a lot there in the battle system (more than there was in Zestiria) and balancing the right combos to get the best performance seems like a lot of fun to me.

My problem with Graces and Zestiria, neither of them ever really stopped feeling chaotic, just too many animations going off all over the screen at all times

You should check it out (it's a free demo), but in my view the game definitely has more going on on the screen. It does have a much better camera than Zestiria has, so you won't really have problems there as far as the demo is concerned.
