Eshop at launch confirmed?

This ad is actually good.

Remember Target's first Wii U ad where it advertised the controller next to a regular Wii? Good for them properly advertising this time around.

eShop was known based on the fact that there are digital-only games confirmed for launch day. Nintendo already announcing DLC for Zelda further confirmed it. But it's cool and surreal to see a magazine ad for "NX" that says it's available on "Friday."

That video or Direct focused on the online stuff (and legacy compatibility) is much needed.

it's not like they'd put it in front of a wii again

Must be a slow news day, but thanks for re-officializing this. Nintendo should give you the Golden Bowser for your hard work.

I was honestly waiting for a brand new design but considering both 3DS and Wii U eShops will remain open for a very long time it makes sense to keep the old design and simply add a Switch logo next to the other two.

Plus it will most likely share wallets across all systems so yeah...

the Wii U had the eshop open day 1 too (after the console finally connected and updated since servers were dead on launch day)

it's good to see they aren't changing the currency. i can keep using my old NNID this way (was worried about making a new one)

Lol.

Of all the things to bungle, companies usually don't bungle the "buy games from us" part.

Of course the Eshop is day one, how could that ever be in doubt...

Transfer as in not usable on the 3DS/WiiU anymore or will it be a shared wallet altogether?

That I don't know. I'm gonna assume the former considering there's a likely chance someone would trade in a Wii U for the Switch and would want any leftover funds to transfer over.

Are those 5 titles in the ad the entirety of the Switch's launch?

If Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ was indeed delayed from launch day, then I think that is the full retail launch for North America. There are other games available exclusively digitally on Day 1.

Still so weird to see Bomberman front and center on adds.

I mean I love it. And I'll be buying it. But it's still surreal.
