Nier Automata is Gold

Welp, watched that CM. I had an idea what 9S was doing in that one trailer, but I guess that confirms it.

That said, I will never understand why Japanese commercials always end up spoiling stuff. Makes no sense.

Really want to try out the spear in the final game

Curiosity got the better of me and I watched that uncensored commercial.

Now I regret it. :(

Can't wait for this game. So close. I think I'm still going to wait on NA release though, get the NA sales numbers up for this game.

Well, Saito producer just confirmed the language options of the Japanese version on the stream right now. Same as the info here of course.
What stream was this? I thought there was only going to be a stream on the 23rd... BTW bought it from the JPN PSN store. The fear settled in immediately. What if it doesn't have the language options :(

Damn people, just wait until the day of. There will be people to confirm if the languages are there or not, me for example.

There was a Dengeki stream today. Don't worry Saito confirmed there is English in JP version.

"2B or not 2B" was originally a shitty idea, but if the plot goes where I think it's going (not a spoiler) it could be an amazing double entendre

That letting-go-of-the-sword animation at the end is great!

It's so goddamn good! I was watching the newest Nier Playstation Access video earlier, and couldn't get over all the subtle little unique animations for sheathing all the weapons. Platinum has to easily have some of the best animators in the industry, I still can't get over how weighty all of 2B's weapons animations are, but without ever being too intrusive. 2B's walkcycle is amazing, too, it always makes me think of that Charlize Theron 'walk like a queen' gag on Ellen:

Anyone know the language options for the US version? I'd prefer to play with Japanese voices, but I don't want to pay 8,400 yen for the privilege lol

The combos in the game are awesome, and it's really cool that you can have two weapons and do combos with both of them.

lol I'm also having a hard time choosing if I should play it on normal or on hard for the first playthrough.

Gotta go w/ Hard imo, feels just challenging enough, and not having a lock-on button frees up a button input, which I find to be useful.

I've only tried the demo (a million times) on hard so far. It's actually pretty hard for me but totally fun and never frustrating. I think i'm going to go with that. And it plays flawlessly without a lock on button, which I think shows care went into the gameplay.

Same, I'm a little embarrassed as to how often I've absentmindedly died when playing on Hard. Hell even when I was giving it my full attention, it still happened a few times at first.

It's definitely going to add several hours to my completion time but I am patient and thoroughly enjoy having to fight hard just to go on.

Should I watch the Drakengard videos also?

I tried only twice on hard until now and it isn't that hard but it seems I always forget that if you do the drop attack while they are attacking they will hit you, it's the main thing that kills me.

This is totally okay from the art countdown thread.

That's night and day from most of the game's fanart - I don't see the barest hint of a camel toe, cybernetic creampie or creatively-employed buzzsaw.

Still, I don't think there's much of a point to a separate fanart thread - there are some nice SFW pieces, but I feel it'd be impossible to have any sort of conversation that didn't circle back around to the porn.

All of you are going to play it tomorrow while I have to wait 2 weeks for a physical copy :(

Hey, I'm stuck with you on this too.

I swear, if any of you spoil anything in the OT...

After the discussion in the other thread about how NieR: Automata wasn't a single person's definition of 'deep action game', I got started on this out of curiosity.

Turns out that NieR: Automata will have at least 50 loadout-sensitive combo animations + special moves depending on what weapons are equipped in what slot.

... But it could have as many as 150 if both 9S
and A2
have their own animations and accompanying combo trees.

Sorry if this has been asked a lot, but do we know for sure that the Asia version will include English subtitles?

Thinking about using my HK account to get this, so I can use the leftover money on there.
Also, waiting 2 days sounds a lot better than 2 weeks and it would free up a bit of time in the crazy march launch window.
