The French charge from the Battle of Waterloo is a classic.

There's absolutely no CGI here - the movie is from 1970. They simply used upwards of 15,000 extras and tons of practical effects, it's probably the closest a movie has ever come to recreating the battle it's trying to portray.

Yeah, that's impressive. More so now that I understand the effort that had to have been put into it.

Kingdom of Heaven had a small one I was always fond off. RoK is probably the best considering all the things, though haven't seen that one in like 10 years.

BioShock Infinite is like playing some homeless guy's vivid imagination
Agreed. That long shot is fantastic. The final two episodes of Season 6 are honestly the best two episodes of Game of Thrones I've seen yet

They were both directed by the same guy, who also directed the amazing battle sequence with the Wildings a season or two back. He is an incredibly talented person.

Of course it's the one from the Battle of Pelennor Fields from Return of the King.

From Theoden's speech to the charge itself (and even the second charge against the giant elephants whose name I can't recall).. It's just awesome.

Salpochik right?

I know he is not coming back for season 6..but if he isn't back for season 7 we have a problem.

Hiring the Russian Army has its benefits. It's one of the greatest charges and the whole movie is highly underrated.

My Top Three Film Charges

-
1) Ney's Charge in Waterloo(1970)
2) Battle of Balalclava in Charge of the Light Brigade(1936) though warning many real horses died filming it. Michael Curtiz famously kept saying "bring on the empty horses while filming" and it was the movie that prompted the Humane Society approved guidelines that movies follow to this day
3) Picketts Charge in Gettysburg (1993)

This is the one I was looking for. The whole history of the movie is fascinating. I still have never managed to see the whole thing.
