I didn't wanna say anything about this spoiler business since sometimes believing a fake spoiler makes the story more fun when you actually see it.
Made watching Clannad a hell of a rollercoaster ride.
I am sad for the speedrun community ... but ... THANK GOD !
Trying to do that shit almost gave me carpal tunnel xD

It's not gone, but it's more infrequent in the areas where you usually get the most freezes.
I think they mean whistle and B, but I've never tried it. Requires some finger gymnastics.

Hold the run button while also moving the analog stick and whistling with down on the D-pad. Also say goodbye to your hands' natural shape.
Holding the whistle button while tapping the run button will make link sprint but not lose stamina.
Hold down Whistle, mash Sprint.

...which were revealed many, many times through pre-release media and there's a huge collectathon centered around them. You know of them well before you get there, and if you're sensitive enough to consider that a spoiler, why the hell are you in a message board thread a month after the game released where people are obviously going to be discussing things at specific length?

They're absolutely improved. If I wasn't sure, I wouldn't say anything.
BUT they're not so drastically improved that they're going to impact your experience all that much, aside from one or two areas. Game hopefully has more patches coming.

Drastic freezes occur in both docked and handheld mode. Also, the frequency has not decreased in my experience.

Still playing (Wii U version on disc), but the thing I'd hope this fixes is the moblin thing. Sometimes when you knock down moblins and they're falling downhill, it literally slows down to slideshow level, like 1-5 fps. Had it happen maybe 15 times in the game and while I was more or less fine with framerate otherwise, it's just infuriating when this happens.

Yeah, some improvements. only tested a few villages and during the rain.
I didn't try anywhere else tho, just areas I know i can make the framerate drop. Didn't try the forest tho

Yeah, outside of THAT forest I doubt I would've noticed any difference had I not known I'd just installed a performance patch.

Just happened to me and playing on Switch docked. Thought the game froze at first. Well, it literally froze for a few seconds.

It's also out on Wii U, and if you're on blackout mode to the point where you don't want to know the name of a location that doesn't spoil jack shit about the game, it doesn't make sense to go into any discussion threads about the game a month after its been out where people are talking about specific improvements.

Yeah, it basically froze for like 8 seconds or so one time too. Usually it's just major slowdown for a few seconds, but I thought for a while I'd have to reset the game. I adore the game, but the moblin ragdoll physics or whatever you'd call it is a terrible flaw.

Not much improvement on the wiiu, significant fps improvement on switch in previously laggy areas. Did they even try to patch up the wiiu version?
