I just learnt that Super Cloudbuilt is a thing and it'll be releasing in summer. I had no idea, seen nobody on GAF talking about it at all.

Loved the original game even with its flaws. Really curious about a new one.

Actually posted in the steam thread but no one seemed interested in the news ;(

It's basically a remake or remaster what have you of the first game.

I bought Bayonetta just to refund it some minutes later, it's useless for me getting it on full price while I'm trying to clean my backlog on PC, PS3 (Suikoden 3, Persona 3) and even PS1 (Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Valkyrie Profile and Policenauts).

Anyway, how long is Total War warhammer campaign without dlcs (only free ones)?

As a stalker of indie devs, I can guarantee Chinese are more and more vocal on Steam forums of indie games. It is common to see a post made by a Chinese begging for a translation to Chinese. It may also be worth it.

Woah, I'm assuming this is because of a large amount of Chinese people owning laptops meaning they'll seek out less demanding games? I wonder if some day Western devs will begin to make games with China in mind.

EDIT: I also sometimes see that Chinese-only Nobunaga game on the topsellers. It makes even more sense now.

China may be the answer to everything. They made Yakuza become profitable, and now indie games.

Also, many Chinese users have a very weak ability to communicate in English. So whenever a good game is translated to Chinese, or Russian, there is a large public eager to buy the game.

Took me about ~25 hours a couple weeks ago. I'm a complete Total War beginner but I was playing on easy, so I imagine it balanced out somewhat. And I don't think the DLC has any bearing on length whatsoever. All the purchasable factions are still in the campaign as AI opponents.

Art in Pillars 2 continues to come along very nicely. I love these really high fidelity 2D pre-renders.

Full post here for larger pictures and more info about how the levels are constructed.

I've long been tempted to buy Pillars just because I adore this kind of isometric artwork, though I doubt the actual gameplay is my kind of thing.

Looks kinda similar to the nibelbeim mansion in FF7 doesn't it?
It does a bit, and again that kind of background art was a big part of why I loved FF7 and why I doubt the more standard third person remake is going to interest me by comparison.

It looks like Full Throttle Remastered is still in "pre-release" state at Steam, it's not possible to see achievements page and screenshots are not visible in activity feed at this moment. I wonder why this keeps happening with some new games

I want to add more information in addition to what Wok contributed so far, which was great. Thanks Wok.

1st December, 2016
In fact, there are now more than 10 million Steam users in China, which makes it the second largest Steam region.
...

Chinese gamers are willing to spend their hard-earned money on digital games as a relatively inexpensive and pervasive form of entertainment. Chinese players are showing more and more of their purchasing power on Steam. Many developers have started to pay more attention to localization in order to attract Chinese players. For example, the latest entry in the Civilization franchise, Civilization 6, now has Chinese audio and Simplified Chinese text. We've already seen that around 1/3rd of the reviews are from Chinese gamers and that many of the reviews left are positive due to the added Simplified Chinese language support.
...

There is no doubt that having some sort of competent Chinese language support will lead to adoption of the game in China.

I've been playing so many good games lately. Been playing a lot of Spark the Electric Jester, Heart and Slash and I started slime Rancher last night. I've also started cleaning up the backlog as well because it's gotten way too big.

Spark the electric Jester came out so good, really solid game. Really reminds me of Ristar and Sonic. The soundtrack is also amazing.

This game is a ton of fun and pretty damn hard and the soundtrack is so good.

Post from Sega:
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING BAYONETTA ON PC! REPORT BUGS HERE, PLEASE
Thank you for supporting Bayonetta on PC. We here at SEGA Europe are overwhelmed with the positive reception you have given us in this first week after release. We can’t thank you enough for putting us on the Steam Global Top Sellers list!

We have worked hard to ensure that Bayonetta on PC is the absolute best experience you can have on the platform. We do read this forum, and we’re seeing that some of you are reporting issues such as frame drops. Rest assured we are investigating, and a patch is imminent.

You can help us by reporting your issues here in this sticky thread in as much detail as possible so that we can reproduce them, along with your system specs.

Keep an eye on this thread as we bring you further news.

TOP TIP: Press the Back button on the loading screen to lock into Practice Mode. SSD users, be quick! Press Back again to resume loading.

Guys how does Commander Keen hold up? I've never played it but always been interested in it, and the bundle is only a couple of quid on Steam so I'll probably go for it.

Its been many years since I played a Keen game, but I remember them being impressively sprawling/large scale for a simple platformer.

Imagine a NES game with the limiters removed.

I think the game can definitely be appreciated from an exploration/story perspective if you don't want to deal much with the combat. The Story Mode difficulty makes it pretty trivial while still giving you something to click at and watch beautiful fireballs explode.

Yeah it is, Lake Feperd (Felipe) is the creator behind the game and the soundtrack was done by some talented artists including GAF's own Falk and James Landino. The game plays really well and is pretty challenging. There is some Sonic in there and even a little Kirby with the power up system.

Credits mention Little Stone (all 5 people or whatever they are...) and all of Platinum. This seems a Platinum port with Sega Europe providing some help.
So I guess they did help on it despite Platinum working on it?
I hope they could have been working on something else on the side

Hmm, having a little trouble with my XB1 controller. I left it charging (since Friday actually, forgot to take the batteries out the charger) and I start playing Nier. Works fine for like 15 minutes then loses connection. But it shuts off instead of searching for it like it sometimes does. It blinks to turn on then blinks one more time and it's out. The sync button does nothing.

Any ideas?

So, let me guess, Sonic 2006 port in 2018, and after that bombs, nothing else gets ported to Steam?
Also, Bayo PS4 port next year, and just for shits and giggles, Vanquish PS4 and XB1.

Honestly, once I found out about the Valkyria PS4 port situation and how SEGA Japan seems to be mostly uninterested and uninvolved in SEGA Europe's PC porting efforts, I significantly lowered my expectations. I'm sure Vanquish is coming but I'm not holding my breath for newer stuff like Yakuza anymore.

But while we're on the subject, Bayonetta's release has made me think about how Capcom has also been on a porting spree recently with Dragon's Dogma, Dead Rising and MvC3. I was trying to think of other titles they could realistically bring. Code Veronica is all but confirmed but what else is missing from last-gen? All I can think of is Asura's Wrath and Okami HD. It'd be cool if they went back to the PS2 gen and started bringing stuff like Killer 7 and Viewtiful Joe but I don't think that's terribly likely.

Gonna be building the Flinthook OT in a few hours but I'm at a loss for a good OT title. If anyone has a good one let me know, I'm 100% open to suggestions.

can you really think Capcom without thinking about Ace Attorney and Ghost Trick? It kinda blows my mind.
I totally understand forgetting Dino Crisis, though

on related note, I'd take Sengoku Basara too, but that unlikely will be ever considered.

They hold up well enough for games pushing 26 years old. Simple, but engaging platformers.
Also the series i want Bethesda to announce a sequel to most.

Well, I was thinking about console games more but yeah, had a bit of a brain fart on Ace Attorney there lol. Ghost Trick is a bit more obscure, though, and I haven't played it.

And why wouldn't I forget about Dino Crisis? Capcom certainly has. Let's just let that series remain in obscurity where it belongs.

talking about Capcom, they have Breath of Fire 4 PC, they just have to adopt it to modern OSes, slap in some achievements and I'd buy it again gladly.

sounds about right

they still should give us RoF, though, have mercy, Sega

I know I'm in the minority here, but...overrated. It's okay, but it's no great shakes and there are better platformers out there. I wonder if you can still find the free shareware version (glorified demo) to try it before you buy it.
