Possible Mario x Rabbids amiibos leaked

Okay, in comparing these to the images we have:

daikq2jxkaqzzewjpspm.jpg

There are a few things to note. First off, all four Rabbids appear to be in almost identical poses to those in the picture above. Also, Mario Rabbid's amiibo has no mustache. Also, Peach Rabbid's gun is held at a different angle, and Yoshi Rabbid's amiibo appears to be mirrored (the tongue sticking out of his mouth gives that away).

So, while the mustache being gone is kind of strange, the slightly different Peach Rabbid pose makes me think this is likely real. If they all had the exact same poses as in this artwork I'd think it was more likely to be a 3D printed fake, but that difference seems like it would be hard to do well if you're not working from the artwork.

The other thing to notice is that Luigi Rabbid's device appears to be floating, which probably isn't the easiest thing for an amateur 3D printer to figure out.

I'd say 75% chance this is real.

They remind me of those Bowser/DK Skylanders Amiibo figures from a year or two back.

These have finished paint jobs, so they're not that similar!

Really though, those things were a mess to look at in real life. It has always astonished me that Skylanders made so much money and they spent so little of it on QC for the figures where it concerns the paint apps.

The thought of Dan Ryckert having to buy a rabbit dressed as peach making a selfie amiibo because he HAS to have a complete set makes me happy :)

^In your points, add that none of the guns have their Texture (Yoshi's one has Bowser Jr.'s mask for example)

While that's true, I don't think that's really an indicator on whether or not these are fake. If they are real amiibo prototypes they wouldn't need much texture work done. I mean, even the L and M on the two hats look off from the picture, but I don't think that would matter if these are simple prototypes.

To figure out if a 3D printed thing is real or fake I think the actual structural model is much more important to scrutinize.

It's real. Who would spend their free time modeling something as gross as a rabbid unless they were getting paid for it?

Also, the gun that holds the YoshiRabbid has a ¿Bowser mouth? painted on it on the artwork, while in the figurine there are no mouth painted on the gun.

With the way this game is leaking, I expect people to be playing pirated copies of the game by Thursday.

I'm off the amiibo train (unless I can find them for super cheap) but uh, good for collectors I guess.

Ubi needs to clean house.

Leaks tells alot about a employee, unless these are controlled.

Maybe if Ubisoft was a better place to work, surely? You occasionally hearing employees saying it sucks to work there, can't imagine it'd give them much loyalty regarding leaks and such.

I'd say they're real just because no one would go to that much bloody effort to fake something Rabbids related.

Keep in mind, to create these, one would need to:
1) 3d model and pose all 4 characters to the high degree of accuracy we see,
2) 3d print them and then polish to a gloss finish whilst maintaining the fine details &
3) Paint them perfectly, either by hand or with industrial machinery.

It's not impossible (clearly someone had to do it for these to exist) but who would actually go to all that effort other than Ubisoft themselves? This is on a whole other level to 3D printing a fake controller out of simple geometric shapes or inserting Rayman's face into the SSB4 character select screen with after effects and I can't imagine anyone having anywhere near enough fanatical devotion to Rabbids to commit to the dozens of hours of work required to pull this off.

Interesting gun design on the one the Yoshi rabbid is holding. Is it supposed to be an egg? Like he could hold an egg, then go "surprise motherfucker" and the gatling gun pops out.

2) 3d print them and then polish to a gloss finish whilst maintaining the fine details &
3) Paint them perfectly, either by hand or with industrial machinery.

Are you sure those points would be necessary? The figurines stand on a nondescript grey background and the image is very grainy, so it could be a very good 3D render like the white NX "savonette".

I guess it's possible, but even with all the graininess, the realism of the materials seems to perfect for it to just be a render. I mean, even that fake NX controller was not 100% photo realistic. There were quite a number of people who correctly identified it as a render. At the very least, it would still take a fuck ton to get a render of the quality we see with these Amiibo. Still a lot more than I would expect someone to put in for Rabbids.

Is there someone who is good at photoforensics? I have a question.
Based on fotoforensics.com, Error Level Analysis show high contrasts areas and where the original image was modified after being saved once, right?

So, it would be logical for the text watermark part to show up as a modified part, right?
So if the text doesn't show up as modified, does it means that the text was there from the very beginning (aka. the first time the image was saved)? Or is there a different possibility?
None of the image is modified = all of the image is artificial?

First amiibo line I'm completely skipping. Probably for the best with everything else coming out this year.

That peach one will become an expensive collectible

I can see what you mean.

I've cooled down on my reaction to this game (I'm still saying we should've gotten something cooler than a Mario Rabbid, like, why not a Rosalina Rabbid or a Rayman Rabbid?), but it's actually incredibly funny to me that this game can't catch a break. Literally everything from the amiibo to the first boss is leaking.
