Donald Trump's state visit to Britain put on hold

Trump prioritizes optics. He's a reality TV star. Remember he wanted a full ceremonial welcome and a ride in the Queens carriage? Protestors would dominate any news from his trip.
He's done a shit job of that so far too. To the surprise of no one.

Basically means he won't visit any country unless they have a dim view of protestors (like Japan), or are an outright dictatorship like his Saudia visit (which showed how much of a moron Wilbur Ross is when he breathlessly remarked at the lack of protestors as a sign of Saudi friendship).

The US president said he did not want to come if there were large-scale protests and his remarks in effect put the visit on hold for some time.

Amazing that he will visit Saudi Arabia where protesting is illegal under pain of death but he won't visit the the United State's closest ally because he's afraid of democracy. Not that the UK should have allowed him to visit in the first place, especially after his vile attack on the Mayor of London.

Donald Trump has told Theresa May in a phone call he does not want to go ahead with a state visit to Britain until the British public supports him coming.
What a pathetic piece of shit. Good news is that he'll never visit. I envy you guys. :(

This is hilarious but part of me is a little sad he won't get to see hundreds of thousands of brits protesting his existence, you know it would have got under his skin badly

While I admit I would love the story to be true, apparently May is denying it:

So... what are the chances that this is just a wrong rumor vs true one? I must admit I'm always skeptical of The Guardian cause it does seem from what I've seen to put stories out that liberals would love to be true and I'm more trusting of Reuters. But, as I said, I'd love this to be true but I don't want to end up being like the republicans these days where I am easily duped by a story just cause I want to believe it.

Will no other country take him off our hands for a few days? I never knew taking care of a Presidential baby was so much work. ~___~;

What a fucking baby.

Could you imagine if Obama refused to visit a country because he wasn't liked? Republicans would have had the impeachment papers ready.

So... are either the Republicans or Theresa May herself going to "scold" the UK population in general into behaving themselves for Trump "or else?"

This announcement is my warm feeling for the morning.

Snowflake needs to stay in his safe space, I guess. Figures.

This is amazing. Not surprised May was surprised. The tories have always been good at ignoring protests even when they're outside their annual conference.

I'd be surprised if Trump made any state visits to any European country. It would seem Trumps popularity is in single figures in some European countries whilst Obama was hitting 80% by the end of his term.
The US could end up being generally hated once again. All thanks to Trump.

Keep an eye on his public events while in the US too. Any event that isn't one of his 2020 campaign rallies will be at some sort of private business setting.

Scott Walker the unpopular governor of WI rarely does public events. When he was elected the head of the WI GOP was drum roll please ... Reince Preibus.
