Sony E3 2017 Conference Thread [Over]

So I think they don't have enough to fill 3 shows a year with new content. That really lacked oomph. I mean, I get that they need to get these games out and next year should be all new content, but really...why are they cutting it so short? They should have moved preshow content into the main show. Ninokuni could use stage time. But then again they showed that at PSX.

I guess you do have to remember they have 3 shows...

What's the third show? All I'm counting is E3 and PSX.

This is also true.

It was a good conference. There's a whole lot of games I'm looking forward to.

I will say though that it probably would have been better to hold off on The Last of Us 2 reveal until this conference. It would have been an absolutely incredible ending to the show that got people talking about it over anything else. I think that game got revealed too early.

This conference was "cool games but nothing new, lots of QTE, boring".

No idea why people still think this was best conference LOL

I mean the conference was good, all games, but man do the games all look samey. Gritty cinematic experiences/open worlds one after the other. I honestly preferred all the games in the pre-show.

I think I'm most hyped for Detroit.

where's the 2nd half of the show? what happened to the 2 hour sony festivals.

i guess if you're not trying to sell hardware you start slacking on conferences, hmm.

edit: i guess they are doing 3+ of these events per year... different times

Man, GAF really hates video games. I've seen plenty of stuff from all the conferences that I would love to play.

Don't get me wrong - they've shown at least 4-5 games I'll end up buying, but there was little to no point to this briefing. They mostly showed trailers for games we've known about for several years without giving any new information. For instance, I still don't have a clear idea of what gameplay for eg GoW or Days Gone or Detroit looks like.

Trash. Expected a lot from Sony. Wasted my time staying up for this. The only new thing was Monster Hunter and it looked shit. Spider-Man and GoW looked good I guess.

I'd give Sony a 4/10. Spider-man looked amazing but next year. Destiny 2 stuff looked good. The more I see the more I'm liking. Looking very cinematic.

Rest was of no interest to me. Sadly that won E3 for me. Everyone else bombed hard this year. EA Had Battlefront 2 and that was it. They came in 2nd with a 2/10 from me. Everyone else should just be ashamed.

Very lackluster.. No surprises outside of Monster Hunter.
I'm more excited for PC titles at this point. That's my take from E3.

I thought the conference was awesome. Disappointed Shenmue HD wasn't announced (wtf Sega?) but from what they did show looked amazing. At the start of E3 I was hoping VR wouldn't be a focus in any of the conferences but Sony showed some quality content for the platform.

One things for sure, 2018 is going to be an amazing year for gamers.

Underwhelming due to the lack of anything new (I think just Monster Hunter) but some of the games do look very good. Unfortunate that so little was shown for 2017 though.

Almost everything outside of Skyrim was new for PSVR and they revealed Shadow of the Colossus remake.

Pretty weak.

I had a hunch the show would go just like this. Gameplay updates on games we already knew about, a boring VR segment and a couple 3rd party games...the end. Though I will hand it to em, Days Gone, Spiderman and God of War look astonishing.

Oh well, here's to hoping PSX 2017 is better.

Microsoft's conference was miles better. They had surprises, indies, all sorts of shit. 42 games. How many games did Sony show? 15, maybe?

Starting out with two DLCs was a good forewarning that they had nothing major up their sleeves.

Hey Sony could have also shown 40 3rd party multiplatform titles.

Instead they concentrated on mostly their games.

What do you mean 3 shows? What else is there besides E3 and PSX?

Lol Nintendo is maybe even gonna win.
I first thoght it was ridiculous but they have Odyssey and Splatoon story mode + more to show.

Combined with the pre-show, an easy win for Sony.

Seriously, do not get why people are gushing about Ubi's showing, particularly as it finale was just a lengthy cg intro.

It's clear Sony is embracing a Spring launch for their games. Nothing wrong with that.

Third party will carry them through the holidays, and really, as far as competition goes, Xbox has what, Forza and Crackdown?

As for the conference, it was straight to the point. Here are a bunch of games, some that you didn't know about, and new footage of the ones you did know about. Enjoy. Not jump out of your seat exciting, but they can't do that every year. Not sure why Sony is the only company held to that standard.
