Easy Allies @ E3 2017 Streaming Thread & Schedule

I think they should rank them after they've all happened. That way you have a basis to put everything else against.

Yeah, I'm expecting a "So we've had all week to reflect on the conferences and our scores" later. Most likely during their E3 Awards video/stream if they done one like last year.

The death of E3?

All the conferences this year were insanely short.

I think E3 is slowly dying to the ways of actual public gamer shows like gamescom, pax, Psx and other cons

Didn't they rate Microsoft an 8.5

Kind of weird when I think Microsofts conference was legit just as weak

Overall though.....it was an insanely weak E3

Let's just say people might be getting double what they asked for from the return of a long awaited franchise.

Also, a riddle (these pictures are related to separate things):

I think my current rating is

Sony = Ubisoft
Bethesda
Microsoft
PC
EA
Devolver

Without any really crazy drops between any of them. I really don't think anyone is crazy wowing this year, but the average presentation is up across the board. No real cringe moments or universal bathroom breaks. If you're someone who came in with your expectations firmly in check I think this has been a pretty tight E3.

Evil Within 2, Mario + Rabbids, Beyond Good and Evil 2, A Way Out, God of War, Monster Hunter World, Spiderman, Battlefront 2, Metro: I think all in all there's a good amount to get excited about.

I think the main concern at this point is just what I'm playing holidays this year; it's totally possible that in some weird twist of fate, the first half of the year will outshine the second. Mario Odyssey might have some weight to carry, unless there's something huge and nonannual I'm forgetting. I guess Destiny is really huge for a lot of people?
I'm hyped for Destiny and it is still the most successful new IP of all time I believe

Just a point on this post: the Green Lantern pic is the first image result for "Hal Jordan," not "Green Lantern." The hint probably has something to do with his name or character, and not the color green or lanterns?

Second image is of Chicago.

The death of E3?

I think the only death of E3 that is going to come is if the negativity and cynicism I've seen here (in some threads), Reddit, Twitter, etc. keeps up. This has been a more subdued and definitely downer E3 especially compared to some of the last couple years, but part of it has been negativity based on people's expectations and how they react to the conferences.

I've seen several individuals in regards to EVERY conference say things to the effect of "Uggh, why did they even bother having a conference? All they showed was boring shit that nobody plays and nothing good. Don't have a conference if you don't have anything to show". This being said while giving no thought to the fact that other people may like the games being shown. Not everything shown is going to be for everyone.

By all means, criticize companies for their conferences. Tell them what you think of them and how they can improve, but without these companies doing these conferences, a big part of E3 would be gone. Just my 2 cents.

Valiant. I will clarify that the text and images represent separate things.

I wonder what a 3D Metroid would look like in the Snowdrop engine though! That'd be interesting.

Destiny 2 will be one of the biggest games of the year -- if not the biggest.

I'm hyped for Destiny and it is still the most successful new IP of all time I believe

Destiny is definitely huge, I'm underselling it, it's just not something I'm personally interested in. I think there's a clear divide on that game of people who love it and people who just couldn't care less.

2d Metroid by Hal Laboratory

3D Metroid using the snow drop engine in exchange for the Mario + Rabbids deal.

Hal Labs is DEFINITELY the first clue.

I'm going to spend a silly amount of time thinking about this post I have no reason to trust.

Ha, I hope I don't let you down! I'm only having fun with what I've been told.

I basically agree with all their criticisms of Sony's conference. There is a way to make CoD and Destiny trailers interesting - I refuse to believe there isnt. Moreover, a few of the games during the PSVR segment looked dull or uninteresting to be frank.

I will only disagree with them on Spiderman. I think it looks kind of stunning. The combat and stealth look Batman-ish and the QTE's were probably a bit too much, but boy, I was so gitty the entire time. I just cannot wait to play that game.

Lol don't worry, no hard feelings either way.

Hal Labs/Blizzard Entertainment collab.

Ship it.

Hell, maybe the switch will get Overwatch.

Hal Labs with Blizzard would be weird, but I don't know what that second image could mean if not Blizzard.

Overwatch would be disappointing imo because there's zero chance I'd stop playing on PC to play on Switch, and an online only game wouldn't be great on a portable. Plus, the original hint is insinuating that it's about a franchise returning, so it has to be something older than Overwatch.

For the record, Hal is known for Mother, Kirby, Smash Bros, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap, and most recently, Box Boy.

If it's about a HAL series returning... I can honestly only imagine it'd be a Mother 3 release in the West, along with a Mother 4.

Which would also explain the "double" clue.

The further problem is that they had SuperHot VR they could have put in instead of the war shooter since it was in the pre-show. Even if it's not exclusive in this case and is coming "late" it has an art style that in a conference would probably make some extra people perk up.

I really liked the two cartoony looking VR games.

Plus some people probably jumping to conclusion on what's QTE (though obviously there are some when things got super busy) just because of the button prompts showing up.

I feel like an idiot now realizing the picture of the snow hinted at Blizzard. I was like "What in gaming is connected to snow?"

Gonna predict not Overwatch, but Hearthstone.

Edit: wait, where does the Overwatch hint come from in the picture?

So long as my source is right.

Your text is either 2D/3D Metroid or 2D/3D Donkey Kong. The first image is Super Smash Bros Switch from HAL Labs... or maybe Kirby? 2nd image is Overwatch and Hearthstone from Blizzard.

If we read the signs in the second image, it says "One Way" and "STOP".

Green. Lab. Blizzard. One Way. STOP.

It's coming together in my head (jk, have no idea whatsoever)

This.

Plus, while MS showed a ton of games to almost exhaustion, almost all of them were pretty much ads for Playstation games for me.

You'd be correct.

For the record, Hal is known for Mother, Kirby, Smash Bros, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap, and most recently, Box Boy.

To clarify, the text and images are unrelated. I also will say I'm not talking about Mother 3.

Just remembered the comment that the text and images are separate on that clue.

Okay, new prediction:

The double refers to 2 Pokemon games that ARE coming to Switch, whether Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon or otherwise.

Hal refers to the return of Mother.

Blizzard refers to... Hearthstone? God forbid Starcraft Ghosts? I'm really not sure on that one.

Edit: But the double refers to the returning franchise, which is unlikely to be Pokemon. And if Mother 3 isn't included, then it's hard to imagine the returning franchise is Mother at all.

I do feel like a 2D/3D Metroid is the safe bet for the double returning franchise, but I'm just trying to think of the different possibilities. And I guess the franchise wouldn't be Hal if they're separate clues. Hmmm...

Also, on a side-note, I've had a strange feeling all week we're going to see From Software at Nintendo's event. It'd be hype as hell if they're making one of the Metroid games.

Hard to imagine something not Overwatch or Hearthstone from Blizzard. Hearthstone sounds more likely, but the dreamer in me wants Overwatch.

Assuming this rumor is simply 2D/3D Metroid, Mother 3, Hearthstone

There was a rumor / "leak" posted a while ago that has been widely discredited (par the course for Nintendo leaks), but wasn't one of the games listed in it supposed to be a duo revival of Pilotwings and Wave Race in one game together? It also said the Mario + Rabbids game had a UFO leading the characters, which was shown in Ubisoft's reveal. (Dunno if that part was from the leaks prior to the reveal.)

It also said something about a Sin and Punishment sequel that looked "very flashy". The Green Lantern image would also work with that.

Just spitballing ideas here. Speculation on vague clues can be fun.

First: Luigi's Mansion
Second: Smash deluxe with Ice climbers
lol
...it's actually overwatch
chibbi

Maybe the Blizzard thing is like, Tracer in Smash or something? With Mii costumes for the rest of the Overwatch cast.

I really don't know lol. People will go bonkers if their logo shows up tomorrow though.

Pilot Wings + Wave Race would be interesting, but I'm not sure there's enough demand for those nowadays for Nintendo to bother.

You might want to contact a mod so they can verify you here. If those teases end up being fake, it doesn't tend to go over well.

Destiny 2 has seemingly fixed quite a bit. Maybe you'll like it a lot more.

Guys... A Rabbids game is a frontrunner for Game of Show. What the fuck kind of timeline are we in?

Game of show is a formality, unless Mario Odyssey somehow sucks (it won't)

There are no Rabbids in Wolf 2 though.

Did Anthem die?

Sony is frankly not being rated on the same scale as everyone else. Any other conference that showed what they did would be considered the winner. But they are being compared to previous conferences. Huber immediately didn't talk about what they showed but what they didn't (Shenmue, RE2 Remake, etc). That is not a fair way to judge conference (by them or by you guys)

Constant hype was gonna come crashing down into hyperbole territory eventually been saying it all year. They had those two conferences they'll forever be held to that standard now regardless. Is it fair nope but that's how it'll go

I would rate Sony (and MS, to be fair) lower than everyone on the Allies and it has nothing to do with what wasn't there. I will say that I did enjoy MS' conference just a little bit more though.

I just thought Sony's conference was pretty boring and the only game that looked interesting to me was God of War. Detroit looked meh, Spiderman didn't do much for me outside of the visuals, and most of the other stuff I was just unimpressed by.

That is fair.

But most of the people saying Sony failed is because of what I mentioned. I completely respect if what they showed did not appeal to you though.

Allies put every hope and dreams on Sony's shoulder. All the Capcom, Fromsoft, SE hope and dreams, a curse for the king.
So far the score pretty heavy skew towards comparison to last year and improvement.

Yep, Sony was graded against itself, not against the competition

So long as my source is right.

First clue is HAL.

Second clue (plus the bit about the double)—oh my god, maybe we really are getting Ice Climber.

Although it's a front-page Google hit for images of "blizzard", so let's go with Hearthstone.
