Easy Allies @ E3 2017 Streaming Thread & Schedule

before the show bosman wanted to talk about a game that was heavily rumored but the viewers and cast were very against it cause of spoilers i guess(lol)? Does anyone know what game it was? also if it wasn't shown what were the details of said rumor?

Finally calmed down a bit I think after that presser. I didn't feel like I could accurately score them immediately because of how pissed I was by the technical issues the entire conference. Out of Sony's hands was the lag/stuttering of the stream and maybe even the audio issues. However, their presentation and camera work was abysmal. I feel like every trailer I was saying "ZOOM IN! Please full screen for the love of god"

That out of the way, based on content, I have to give them a 6.5/10. I was absolutely underwhelmed by them this year. Everything looked "good" and I'm looking forward to playing a lot of things. Monster Hunter World was a big surprise and I'm glad to see it.

For VR, I feel like there's a few games to look forward to (Despite the allies being down on it, I've been hoping for a VR Elder Scrolls since VR was announced) but precious few details. Call of Duty and Destiny 2 just felt like commercials I'd see on TV slapped into the middle of the press conference and didn't show off much of substance. God of War impressed visually and through dialogue. I felt WAY better this year about it than I did last year with more emphasis on getting closer to the God of War brutalfest combat that the series is known for. Spiderman was gorgeous but it was a QTE fest and just felt like Batman in Spidey-clothes.

There just wasn't a whole lot of surprises. I think Ian mentioned it, but it was like just going down a checklist and when you know certain things are going to be there, you're looking at the clock going "Yep...next....yep...next" and it was extremely by the numbers. Absolutely nothing out of From Software. I was so sure we'd get a remaster of either Demon or Dark Souls. I suppose that's on me though. No mention of Dragon Quest 11 in the slightest.

All in all, very disappointing for Sony but their previous years have been so hype that I guess we were due for a downer.

I think I liked the pre-show more.

Matterfall and Ni No Kuni > MH World eliciting the only reaction from me the entire conference (and that reaction was "oh god I hope they don't fuck this up, I want this to be good"). Well, Marvel elicited a "dear god this is gonna suck" too.

Heck even Gran Turismo Sport's pre-show segment with the interview made me more excited than God of War, Days Gone, and another fuckin' Uncharted.

It was Shadow of the Colossus.

Let's just say people might be getting double what they asked for from the return of a long awaited franchise.

Damn Nimbus, you've doubled down! :D

First picture unsure, second screams Overwatch, baby.

Also thank you Sony for not even pretending any of the big games were coming out this fall. We've seen that act story play out and know how it goes. Sony releases their big games early in the year and let's the big 3rd parties dominate the fall with their partnerships.

That conference left me with a lot to chew on. For one, everything they showed I was into (mainly GoW & Spider-Man & save for VR). On the other hand, I couldn't help but notice a...rushed pace & obvious lack of megatons (and the megatons goes for the past few days as well).

Megaton wise, I'm disappointed over the past few days, but I always found at least something in each conference that got me excited.

Only other theory/excuse I can make for Sony is maaaybe they're keeping some exclusive announcements (i.e. Sucker Punch, FROM Software) close to the their vests for PSX.

Overall, Sony gets a 7.5-8/10 from me. Ubisoft might have actually been the best conference so far? I can't decide.

Here's to Nintendo hopefully giving us something good tomorrow! (Putting my faith in you, NimbusCub!)

Really praying Nintendo comes in for the kill. Odyssey will definitely nail it anyway but I'm ready for a surprise. I feel like we need one after Sony

So long as my source is right.

MAXIMUM CARNAGE 2

and

FARGO: THE SHOW: THE GAME

It was ok conference. I felt that this year might be when their early announcements catched up to them, not that it couldn't have been much better with few adjustments.

In my opinion:

-TLOU2 should have been revealed here to close the show, not PSX. This is the biggest one to tip the scales in your favour. It didn't need to be present at PSX that already had the new Uncharted.

-Dissidia Final Fantasy might have been worth securing for conference reveal. KH3 I doubt they could have due to the nature of reveal at an event for fans.

-Ni No Kuni 2 trailer was easily good enough and just so full of fresh energy it should have been on the show. Even for those who don't care it would have been a good pallet cleanser.

-PSVR should have been much shorter montage, nobody who doesn't own a PSVR will buy one because of some of the things you showed (ok, maybe show the horrible Skyrim trailer if you really want to push it to the masses but otherwise no). I'll allow showing Moss because it's another pallet cleanser after Skyrim and looked charming.

A port of the Green Lantern movie tie-in game and a snow-shovelling simulator?

HOLY FUCK YES

Well, HERE'S THE REAL QUESTION:

Will there be a HAT in one of these games?

By the way, what's with the bagging on Crash? I thought it looked alright from the trailers/videos we've had. Are people expecting a train wreck?

It was just Ian I think, saying it looked "bad" graphically? It was a little weird. Crash certainly doesn't look bad graphically. Like, at all.

It's just that Ian has no memory what Crash actually looked like but to be fair I don't think he particularly cares or has paid attention to the remaster.

Why would Mario nail it when we already know about it. We had stellar showings of Detroit, God of War, and Spiderman, as well as Days Gone. 1 game alone (not even Mario) beats that out when all are on the same footing of being known qualities from last year E3 with very little gameplay up to that point.

Sony had a solid conference, but the lack of enthusiasm is due to all these games being revealed too early. I still think they had the most interesting games on the whole easily.

I think my current rating is

Sony = Ubisoft
Bethesda
Microsoft
PC
EA
Devolver

Without any really crazy drops between any of them. I really don't think anyone is crazy wowing this year, but the average presentation is up across the board. No real cringe moments or universal bathroom breaks. If you're someone who came in with your expectations firmly in check I think this has been a pretty tight E3.

Evil Within 2, Mario + Rabbids, Beyond Good and Evil 2, A Way Out, God of War, Monster Hunter World, Spiderman, Battlefront 2, Metro: I think all in all there's a good amount to get excited about.

I think the main concern at this point is just what I'm playing holidays this year; it's totally possible that in some weird twist of fate, the first half of the year will outshine the second. Mario Odyssey might have some weight to carry, unless there's something huge and nonannual I'm forgetting. I guess Destiny is really huge for a lot of people?

I actually enjoyed Sony's conference but am still puzzled why some of the stuff was in the pre-show compared to main stage. They also just needed Sucker Punchs announcement on stage to round it out at the end.

Still a solid 8.5/10 for me. God of War and Spiderman looked fantastic. MH World also looked great.

Shadow of the Colossus is my favorite announcement this entire E3.

Still, this E3 has been very underwhelming. Hopefully Nintendo blows us away.

Bosman gave the PC showcase 8.7

PC game show really was legit. I'm pretty sure there's a reason they call it a 'show' and not a 'presentation' or 'conference' or whatever. It's alright to run at a slower pace when you're taking deep dives and have the courtesy to lay your schedule out beforehand.

Besides, fact of the matter is that whatever block gets Bannerlord wins E3 hands down.

It was just Ian I think, saying it looked "bad" graphically? It was a little weird. Crash certainly doesn't look bad graphically. Like, at all.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. I haven't been paying attention to other's thoughts on the game but he said it twice and I was like "Wait...Crash looks bad? When did this happen???"

Not to say everyone is going to love Crash, but all of the preview videos I've watched look like the game is playing pretty faithfully and looked good graphically.

It was an A for production, design, and presentation, and a B- for content - mostly because like more than half of it was recycled. I'm hesitant to ding it too much because it really was paced so well and what's there was great - along with the worry that it'd be a reflexive response to Sony's incredible but unsustainable last couple years - but it is kind of hard to believe that there wasn't some heavy hitter out of left field.

SotC remake and a Monster Hunter game are great, but they're known quantities. I don't need a new From announcement, but something mid-tier like an Until Dawn sequel or some RE2make news or a DQ announcement or just something from Square Enix would've done a ton to round it out. It wasn't that there was any problem with the conference, but there are so many more avenues that you could reasonably hope for them to explore, and them hitting none of them isn't just "Oh, they didn't say it" -- it's disheartening, because it gives the impression that there's nothing there on any of those fronts.

Thing is, we DID get what was essentially an Until Dawn sequel but it was stuck on the pre-show.

Weird show from Sony. I can understand why they may've wanted to hold back Sucker Punch's new game and whatever FromSoft's working on till some other point but their three biggest announcements were Monster Hunter, the Horizon expansion and Shadow of the Colossus and they failed to build a show around them. Hell, they failed to even make the Horizon expansion come off like a big deal, in stark contrast to the Uncharted: The Lost Legacy reveal at PSX 2016.

On top of that, the pacing of the show was too fast, especially given the really short length of the entire thing. They could've easily fit the pre-show announcements into the conference AND added more gameplay demos and it still wouldn't have been a long show.

Having said all that, I did really like the above three announcements, God of War, Spider-Man, Days Gone, Uncharted, Detroit and a couple of the VR games. They had good content, I just think they did a poor job of bringing it all together into an entertaining show.

I still thought it was far better than Microsoft's conference though, as they at least have a good exclusive lineup, they didn't have to pad their show out with a million timed exclusive indies.

So I guess I'll give Sony a B-. Not great but not bad either.

Who would've thought Ubisoft, of all publishers, would've had the best conference of E3 just a couple days ago? It's madness.

I totally get their scores, I'm also disappointed in the lack of new announcements and think about an 8 sounds right... I just can't get over Kyle rating EA higher. I still think that was a 4/10 at best lol

The death of E3?

Feeling like Huber with these conspiracies, but maybe Sony keeps their big boy announcements for December from here on.

Announce the dreams at PSX, & use E3 as a "here's what those announced games look like" stage.

Again, tinfoil hat conspiracy.

Eh, no excitement for Detroit? I think it was awesome that they showed a different perspective this time. Spiderman looked pretty and thankfully you could dispose of your enemies without seeing blood, but I really wanted to see how much you could interact with the city. Can we just walk around and enter shops? Is there a park I could take a breather in? Or is this game pretty much plot-point to the next plot-point?

There have been really great showings this E3 (the standouts being A Way Out, MarioRabbids and the CGI trailer of BG&E2- for some reason Ubisoft showed a lot of heart this E3). Now only Ninty left, but I won't get myself hyped.

I think they should rank them after they've all happened. That way you have a basis to put everything else against.

I'm gonna assume you're talking about 2d and 3d Metroid here. No idea why I'm doing this to myself. ;p

No idea what your riddle means. I don't do well with riddles.

I hope your source is right! >.>
