This game is a dream come true to me... I mean each piece of info so far is just an affirmation of that and I can't wait to get a hold of this game...

If you think paying $300 for an extra console, $120 for both games and $700 for an extra tv is a reasonable cost in order to play one game, then I dont know how the fuck you handle your money and I dont wanna know.
I was just joking, but apologize if I offended you. Sorry. Still, even with cross-play supported, you'll need to spend on another copy of the game and an extra TV to play together. It'd be great if this game has split-screen co-op as an alternative, but unfortunately that's not supported too.

I was wondering why this thread blew up, let it go people. Let others discuss this game properly, there is already a thread to vent our frustrations.

People assumed this was a spin off at first and weren't too impressed by it and "Capcom are jerks for betrayin nintendo" mostly.

If you have a PC and a console, you'd just need a second game.

What's being gutted from MHW that is in the predecessors? It seems like they're (Capcom) are making changes to take advantage of the more advanced tech that they are now working on.
Prowlers :/

Hoping they get added back in some form going forward. I'd hate if the system dies with the Cross titles. The biggest disappointment I've read so far about MHW

There's 'demon mode' that depletes stamina.

That's not what I meant. Archdemon is a mode you go into by filling a gauge by attacking things while in demon mode.

DB's were never any fun to use until they added the archdemon gauge in P3rd.

There is no local coop. That's like a Mario game where everything else pretty much stays the same and the scope is expanded.

But no jumping.

Err. Monster Hunter 1, 2 and 3 didn't have local co-op. The only mainline numbered game that started with local co-op is MH4 because it was the first one to launch solely on handheld.

I don't think I saw that then but I'm not 100% sure.

I need to see some Bow footage. That was my main weapon.

Director was using bow before he swapt to dual blade!

It looked awesome

DBs were always fun to use, especially when they were overpowered in MHP2nd.

Monster Hunter Freedom had local co-op 10 years ago. I'm confused at what you're saying.

EDIT: You mean split screen, ok nvm.

I found them to be a complete snoozefest. The only weapons worse than them back in second gen were HH and GL.

I'm still waiting on them to make the GL fun.

GL is pretty great in MHXX with Brave Style.

*maniacal laugh*

Can't wait for August!

You should just chug MDJ anyway so demon mode is just strictly better.

A quick question, was there VOs for MH games before?

Because it seemed like there's VO for certain npcs.

Nope.

We've heard impressions that the hunt was tutorialized.. How frequent was the talking mid hunt? I don't want to feel like I'm playing a Sonic Forces.

Better doesn't mean more fun though. I loved transitioning in and out keeping the AD gauge up.

3 Had co-op in arena/coliseum mode, and people bitched about the lack of coop back then too.

This game announcement has made me happier than any other. I'm not gushing about it much online cuz me and my friends have been gushing about it irl. Friends I havn't seen or talked to in YEARS. Can't wait to jump online and relive some good old highschool days.

She keeps talking to you until you are engaged in fighting.

What do you mean by swap? Did he go back to the base camp to re-equip, or can you carry multiple weapons now?

He first died and switched weapon from the base camp

What I really like about being able to fast travel at any time is that you no longer need to carry a Farcaster. That's one extra pouch slot for me!

[This made more sense in my head at first.]

People didn't like underwater combat when it came out in 3.

A lot of people didn't like mounting when it came out in 4.

Plenty of people didn't like Prowlers when they came out in X.

And those games are mostly remembered fondly today.

Embrace change. Give Capcom, and more importantly, the Monster Hunter team making the game, the opportunity to impress you instead of just slinging shit when we have seen literally almost nothing of the game ourselves.

Couldn't follow this thread but why are we discussing that rumour ?

Because of this :

As a hardcore MH fan. I'm indifferent now. Capcom really wants this series to take off West and willingp sacrifice its portability sales for Western reveneue. If this bombs saleswise, I really hope Nintendo doesn'y take them back. Nintendo built up the brand, made it a juggetnaut and this is how Capcom repays them. I'll buy the PC version to see how it plays, as PC settings are probably more suited for co-ops. Capcom, you laid your neck out now. I hope for your sake you survive. I don'y want to see IP's split up due to potential financial difficulties

In other words, brand loyalty !

Anyone else think we will get some crossover quests/items etc?

Maybe something like Xbox gets a question for the Halo Plasma sword, or Chief armour or something. It worked great on 3ds having monthly additions etc. I hope World adds it too.

So, I wonder what changed at Capcom that pushed them over the edge to do this - an HD game that drops the ancient PS2 assets they've been reusing since forever.

Was it that the Switch is an HD handheld?
