That's my point. Post timeskip has its moments. Pre skip arcs were mostly just amazing start to finish.
If you think Thriller Bark is trash, I don't know what drew you to One Piece in the first place. I think it is the quintessential One Piece arc and if someone asked what arc to jump to because they for some reason didn't want to start at the beginning, I'd say Thriller Bark has it all. It's the perfect medley of classic One Piece story, character, action, humour and drama.
Honestly what part can any One Piece fan dislike? The pacing was great, just start to finish it didn't hold anything back. The art direction and design was amazing. Comedy on point. It gave us Brook and his awesome introduction and connection to Laboon. It gave us the shadow counterparts, Perona and her Hollows, Usopp having his moment against her with the hammer, Zoro vs Ryuuma, Sanji and his undying rage for Absalom, SHP vs Oars TEAM BATTLE INCLUDING AN ATTEMPT AT FORMING A MECHA, NIGHTMARE LUFFY, Lola and her merry band, a cast of villains with awesome designs, BINKS' SAKE, Kuma appearing and fighting the SHP, Zoro having his moment and sacrifice - I can talk about this arc and why I love it for hours. Hell, the anime adaptation was just so damn good with its use of colours and music and animation.
Thriller Bark was just awesome. I really hope you consider watching it again, your opinion may change now you can compare it to the state One Piece is in now.
