Gran Turismo Sport launches October 18 - trailer

I guess my information is way out of date. My understanding was the single player was only a number of license test type events and that the vast majority of the game was online mulitplayer.

Is that not the case? I'd love to jump on GT if it has a fully fleshed out SP mode.

Again, I might be wrong, but, I think it is substantial, 130-140 events, starts off teaching the basics and leads into full blown races, but best wait for them to give the details. They did say it will have everything GT games are known for,

Sooner than I thought. The game must have gone gold already as Kaz is on record as saying it takes 3 months to make a gold master.

Hope we get a demo closer to release date. Loved DriveClub but not sure about this one.

Ha! The main reason we aren't getting a demo is because of the above 3 months to gold master taking months out of dev time!
Unless that's the joke?

I'm assuming the series still has legs? It used to be the best selling series Sony had, does it still hand that draw?

6 was down from 5, but 5 sold preposterously well. I don't think there's any worry here, especially with the European popularity for the brand.

6 sold 5 million despite launching on PS3 at the same time PS4 launched

I doubt it'll reach heights anywhere near 5 but it should still move a lot. Especially in Europe

Just so people don't get confused by the title:

NA - 17th
EU - 18th

That's what I'm getting since the EU video says 18th but Playstation Blog US says 17th.

Nobody knows, they've never really talked about it. I'm hoping the nearly-year-long delay and the fact that they're calling it a 'campaign' now means it'll be something substantial, but it does seem like the meat of the game is online stuff.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Good, that's not too far away. I was getting really tempted to buy Driveclub but no sense in getting 2 racing games, might as well wait for this one.

I hope this has a comprehensive suite of single player content from day 1.

GT6 was launched, stupidly, on PS3 after the release of PS4 and still sold more than 5 million. So yes, GT is still massive and GT Sport sales will show it.

Good to see it has a date. Now, stick to it. :p

I'm interested in its sales performance more than anything else. I want to see if the brand still has notable power.

Awesome... And not awesome! I'll be knee deep into prepping for finals and stuff.

So no day 1 for me. More like day 30!

Edit:
No word on weather???

I'm sure this question has been answered hundreds of thousands of times already (so I apologize), but is this mostly going to be a normal-ass GT game? I'm hoping so.

Can the starter pack cars from the Limited Edition and Deluxe versions be bought in-game or as separate DLC? I already have the Standard version pre-ordered but I'm not sure the extras from the Limited Edition are worth $40.

This is going to be a good year for racing games.

Beta ending soon then, I'd have to think. The game has come a long way in 3 months and it'll make the retail launch soooo so much smoother to have the multiplayer settled, the tracks and UIs debugged, and known baselines on car balance. My only substantive complaints left in the beta are 1) tracks and cars got stale ages ago, and 2) I'll have to work from scratch to get back my S-tier sportsmanship rating.
Wait..you think GT is no longer a big franchise? lol
Naughty Dog becomes Sony's signature studio/IPs if GT Sport doesn't sell well. By both reputation and units moved. This "should" do 10M over the course of the rest of this generation, though, assuming they don't inexplicably ruin the product between now and launch.

Yes. There's some focus on attempting to make multiplayer more accessible to more casual players, but I have no idea why this isn't numbered as 7.

1800p CB. 1080p Pro mode gets 8xMSAA.

Would love to see this in the release content. Based on an earlier DF content (which can be argued was WIP) the MSAA was pretty inconsistent when comparing 1080p on OG and Pro.

The 1080p mode having a more consistent 60 FPS than 1800c is also a very fascinating comparison. Let's hope the final release as frame rate fully ironed out at 1800c.

What battle?

Agreed, the only way is to buy both and not have one. They're both top tier.

I just wish my current wheel setup (TMX Pro with TH8A shifter) worked with my PS4. I'm a bit annoyed, but may just have to buy a second wheel. I currently have 3 other wheels (Gamecube (haha), Xbox 360 Logitech, old PC Logitech) from last-gen in my closet also, guess I need to get rid of them.

That or get an adapter...sigh.

Anyone know about what kind of content we're looking at? 5-10 tracks, ~50 cars or something?

177 cars and 19 locations planned (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

LOL....a quick google search can give you your answer...do you think they would launch a mainline Gt game with 5-10 tracks and 50 cars?

The wheel situation on console is bad...I sold my old ps3 wheel in ebay and got a new one for PS4....got lucky was a cheap upgrade.
