When he fires the Kamehameha to save 18 after the guy playing dead hits her out of the ring. Is the idea that they're so close to the ring that the Kamehameha is hitting the end of the ring and shooting them up? If not, then how is it pushing them up because theoretically it should be shooting into the void, meaning it shouldn't be able to push him and 18 back up into the stage.

I think it was rushed. Frost comes out of no where and hits Krillin out, there's no build up to it, and I doubt 18 will be in the ring long enough to do anything about it.
Kamehameha etc are like gunshots they push you back but you hold ground, or in the Air using the flight, Kame made the same thing with krilin in the First tournament

It's an extremely rare instance of a late-Z era bench-warmer actually making a difference, and in an arc where so many of the other heroes kept dropping the soap. (Vegeta lets Cell power-up, Krillin smashes the remote, Goku gives Cell a fucking senzu bean, etc.) Hell, the power gap between him and Cell was probably even a wider gulf than between him and Nappa.
Man, Cell had it easy lol I feel bad for Trunks, the Z Warriors he was hoping to support for a better future ended up helping the villain

The awesome thing about Frost's ring out is that it works with how he survived since his outing as a galactic scumbag. He's been on the run for so long and has become used to hiding his presence, using that to his advantage in the tournament is good writing, especially the way that he made his escape. The fact it came out of nowhere really reinforces that no one is immune in a battle royale and you need to keep your guard up at all times.

Krillin was great, he saved a member of his team without needlessly sacrificing himself, calling back to the days of him being more of a crafty fighter than an all out superstar.

Episode owned on so many levels.

It certainly did until that shit ending.

Krillin getting knocked out so suddenly and quickly makes sense to me. He got a lot of focus and then suddenly he's out, and that shakes things up. People thought that the amount of focus characters were getting before the tournament was directly related to how important they'd be in the tournament, but by taking out a character who's had 3 episodes dedicated to him this year before the tournament it now makes things unpredictable. It also helps to make us hate Frost, which is probably how they want viewers to feel about him.
Sure, it sucks and it'd be nice to have had Krillin do more, but ultimately he's done well this year in Super and from a storytelling stand point it makes sense.

I don't think Kale will knock anyone out of U7. As long as Gohan's team stick to the plan of staying in the middle, they're out of Kale's warpath. Unless Tien becomes attracted to Kale in the next episode, or Roshi goes back to his old ways, I don't see anyone leaving the middle, unless Gohan's interest are peaked, which I do want to happen but clearly it won't.

Tien should be safe until the U4 fighters come into play.
Tien should also at the very least use the Kikoho at some point.

Roshi should be safe until he uses his move stolen from Jackie Chun and I would think he'd use the mafuba at some point, especially since he mentioned it a few episodes back.

In my heart we'll get a Piccolo and Gohan teamup before Piccolo is out.

Goku getting cocky and saying he'll be the one to win, as well as Vegeta makes me think neither of them is making it. In for Gohan.

Gohan probably doesn't make a move for a few more episodes. He's clearly waiting for the field to shrink to just a handful of fighters.

Unless Vegeta jobs to someone, I don't think anyone from U7 drops next episode.

It certainly did until that shit ending.

Ending was the best part. Beerus scolding Turillin was amazing, but even moreso was his final instructions to keep cheering his team on. Beerus is a loud jackass at times, but at his core he's good people, unlike that butthole Babar god of destruction having a shitfit over his loser team.

Gowasu deserves better.

Frosts smoke bomb was hilarious. Like.. Where can you actually hide except for begind the pillar

It's enough time to go back towards the chaos of the other fights. As long as he doesn't provoke anyone he's safe.
I'd rather he had fight 18 because it's clear they're not going to fight, but it's whatever.

I'm imagining now he's behind the pillar like:
"these suckers will never find me, mwhahaha"
Frieza shows up behind him.
"I guess we do really think alike. I was going to shoot the bald one with a few death beams and impale him with my tail, but whatever floats your boat."

Actually, that reminds me. For as much shit as people give the various Earthlings for being weak, or to characters like Vegeta for being Jobber Supreme, I don't think there's a single character in all of DBZ that embodies the Worf Effect more than Future Trunks.

He gets that mindblowingly cool debut where he slices Frieza of all characters to shreds like it was nothing!... Only to hold L after L in every battle for the rest of the arc. He loses harder to the present androids than the ones from his own timeline. He gets completely outclassed and humiliated by Cell after his transformation. Barring Goku's sacrifice, he's the only character in the climax of the arc that Cell actually kills!

And it's made even worse by the fact that he tries harder to make a difference than most of the other main characters. He doesn't get cocky and tempt fate like Goku or Vegeta. He isn't a scared little chickenshit who backs down from a fight like kid Gohan. He's literally the only character I can remember who doesn't just sit there slack-jawed when the villain powers up; he actually tried to make a last-ditch effort to take out Cell during his final transformation. But not a single one of those things made a difference.

His character arc in Z was basically "look cool and tough for 2 episodes, then stay losing forever," and it's underscored by just how drastic the drop-off was from his debut to his other fights. People in this thread love to give Krillin or Tien or whoever shit for some reason, but either one of those guys has more W's to his name. At least the arc closed with him finally regaining his dignity in his own timeline.

Some new Heroes cards were shown in weekly jump, including Freeza paired up with Goku and 17 and a card for the April Fools "Society Surivival Arc" Goku in a suit.
Still no sign of cards for characters like Toppo or the Trio de Dangers.

I suppose they are holding their cards close to their chest on some characters

Trunks isn't killed by Cell (well, not the Trunks I think you mean)

He survives that shot after Cell comes back

He's a Saiyan though, so it doesn't count.

Does anyone know how often the super manga comes out? I am really looking forward to how zamazu gets beaten in the manga.

Have any of you guys ever seen someone who dislikes Piccolo? Even on the internet, I don't think I've ever seen a comment about someone who dislikes him. Goku, Krillin, Gohan, Vegeta, and more I've seen people dislike, but I don't think I've ever seen someone talk about disliking Piccolo.

They're out there I'm sure, hiding. Cowards...

How can you even hate Piccolo? There's nothing about him to dislike. His fighting style is unique, acts like such a badass to his foes, plus well...the guy's a tactical genius. His father son guardian like bond with Gohan is one of the best forms of characterisation for a former villain in Dragon ball, even showing his humourous side to Pan in secret, so no one can feel he isn't cool.

The guy is brilliant throughout the show, DBS refuses to let us forget about him.

Plus when he isnt on screen you dont think "I wonder what Piccolo is doing" cause he eitehr is training or meditating or hanging out with Dende and Mr.Popo...
He doesnt work, he doesnt need to eat...he is just Piccolo!

I'm slowly coming to the terms with the fact that we'll reach 100 episodes this week! :)

Remember the days, back in early 2012 when not even the Battle of Gods movie had been announced yet? Crazy that 5 years later we've had 2 movies and full, proper series that's doing great and next year we'll likely receive the best DB fighting game ever made.

Talk about a crazy comeback! :D

I remember being excited any time we got new animation, be it video game openings or things like the 2 OVAs we got before BoG, and then my excitement was through the roof when it was announced we were getting a new theatrical movie after so many years, now here we are.
For me the real "Dragon Ball is back" moment was when I was living in a small area in the middle of nowhere in Montana and I went to Walmart and they were sold out of Battle of Gods and every TV in the electronics section was playing the movie, somehow that made it feel more real to me than it had up to that point.

Speaking of video game openings, I hope we get a cool one for DBF. I feel like it's been a while since the last one I really liked.

Krillin's Kamehameha bothers me. What is it shooting off of?
I think saving 18 would have been better if Frost hit 18 off at the end of the episode, Krillin goes to save her thinking he could do a Kamehameha to save them both, realize there's nothing to shoot off of, and he throws her back into the stage, and it increases the drama since it was 18's place to lose, now she's getting revenge against Frost for her fuck up..

That's how the episode should have ended. The ending of the episode was shit and no one can argue that.
The Kamehameha would propel him upward just like a rocket in space does...

Someone should make a ToP DB game, with ALL 80 characters. That would be awesome!! Have players pick a Universe and play through an "what if" story. For example, picking up U9 and actually winning the whole thing.

Yeah, it was fun seeing just how big and liked the franchise really is over these past 5 years (especially during the Battle of Gods movie period). The impact and hype of both movies was literally only overshadowed by the Super announcement.

Kinda crazy that after GT nothing besides games (and the occasional OVA) was being made for such a long period of time.

That episode was really good imo. Loved the team up between Krillin and 18. Even that move they used together was pretty unique and well animated.

Also that Gohan moment made the episode. He's the only saiyan actually taking this tournament seriously.

I don't understand the criticisms of Krillin being ringed out first. Tien, Krillin, Roshi and 18 were always going to play minor roles and were shoe ins to get eliminated first. At least Krillin had an episode dedicated to him with him taking part in 3 eliminations.

A bit nervous about the next episode. Just hoping they dont give Caulifla SSB or her giving Goku an actual fight if he transforms to SSB.

That amazing comeback!

I find it strange how 17's weirdly calm about being erased if the team loses but was so against being absorbed by Cell back then. You would think he show more concern now especially after starting a family and all that.

Still, really excited for the next couple of episodes!

You can't feel anything if you're erased.

He wasn't dead within Cell. Plus as he said, Cell hurt him so he wanted to make him pay. He also said Cell disgusted him and refused to be part of such ugly being.

Oh wow, it's already being played at EVO? Niiiccee!!

I hope it does well within the fighting community :)

I'm gonna guess Piccolo for next KO. When you think about, he's the only character who hasn't been foreshadowed to fight someone. Besides Frieza, but Frieza gonna Frieza.
And I could totally see them using him same as Krillin, as a motivator for Gohan as they did 18.

His perspective is weird, but kind of understandable. It's got this kind of existential apathy toward the end of existence. He wouldn't want his family or animals to get killed unfairly, but if everything goes, then no one will be around the care. And no one in the universe will know what's going on to feel pain or sorrow about it.

The one that really bothers me is Goku. He had a serious look for a second there, but still seems to uncharacteristically not care about everyone else getting deleted. Guess he just plans to fix it w/ Super dragon balls, but we'll see.
