Brut LIVE album is pretty good.

All the tracks are great expect Run Sally Run. Something about the live version is very dull. ...Great album otherwise.

Did he get rid of his Bandcamp subscribe feature?

... I thought the same thing. I randomly remembered the album came out. I wonder why I Bandcamp didn't send me an email.
The actual subscriber-only track pages are still up, but I guess only past subsribers will have access to them for the foreseeable future.

Encountered a very peculiar problem after finding some music by Po-One... the guy has tons of tracks on his Soundcloud but only 4 on his Bandcamp, can't find the rest anywhere! Can't buy/download the bulk of his stuff :(

Can't figure out why you wouldn't want people to be able to buy your work if they feel like it. Anyway, his stuff is definitely more the funky/jazzy end of this thread's spectrum but I know from lurking many of you like your saxophones and this guy is all over that lol

Kinda LTTP, but I just finished watching Stranger Things (I waited to have a full 24h free to dedicate to the thing) and oh my god the soundtrack.

Even without it, it's a marvelous tribute to the 80s (in which I grew up), but it's such a complete package.

I want to cry xD

I've been meaning to dive into synthwave for some time. Was listening to Perturbator on Spotify the other day, and just decided to let the perturbator radio play... holy shit... I couldn't keep up with all the songs I liked. I was saving songs left and right. Gunship, Lazerhawk, Nightstop, Carpenter Brut, OGRE sound, Dance with the Dead... l can't stop listening. It's probably the metal lover in me, but I can't get enough Dance with the Dead.

Right now Carpenter Brut and Dance with the Dead are my personal tops, I definitely heavily favor mixing/emulating organic instruments in collaboration to the hard synth. Fuckin love what those two have been putting out.

Perturbator is probably one of the best introductions you can get into this genre. And Dance with the Dead puts on a really good live show.

If you want more recommendations, search these folks on Bandcamp. Some are less synthwave than others, but all are worth checking out IMO.

Far too many tracks to list. Just putting together a list of a top ten would be a nightmare.

Also, this is an album of the year contender. I had been waiting for this release and it totally skipped me by as it was released in May!

Perturbator "New Model" EP [2017]

Perturbator - the reigning master of darksynth - presents his darkest masterwork to date, the surprise long-form EP "New Model."

Composed in secret, "New Model" follows quickly on the heels of his Billboard chart-topping album "The Uncanny Valley" and explores the bleak and slithering circuitry at the core of modern life.

Revelling in utter madness, gnarled and distorted low-end, and eschewing all modern rules of tempo; the 34-and-a-half minute EP enters quickly and cleans out your core, guiding you on a dystopian odyssey through the underbelly of fierce glitch and madness.

A co-production between Blood Music and Music of the Void (Perturbator's own label).

Stand ready for "New Model."

RELEASE DATE: October 20th, 2017.

TRACK LIST:

1) Birth of the New Model
2) Tactical Precision Disarray
3) Vantablack
4) Tainted Empire
5) Corrupted by Design
6) God Complex

The live album by Carpenter Brut is an absolute blast, i'd love for Perturbator to make one as well.

Out of interest, what new would a Perturbator live album bring to the tracks? With Brut the arrangements are a bit different and they have actual people playing instruments, but Perturbator is basically just DJ'ying his music. And this isn't meant as an insult towards Perturbator at all - seeing his show last year was one of the best live show experiences I've witnessed, but I just don't see a point in a live album unless he changes the way he does live shows drastically.
