How to make PC gaming more comfortable?

I need help gaf.

As some of you know (http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1417102), I am finally into gaming PC. I started playing this past week, and I have been enjoying the graphic updates and smoothness of gameplay. However, I can't get very comfortable with keyboard and mouse as well as chair. It just seems that I get fatigued and tired easier than playing consoles. I can't go more than 45min or 60 min playing .

What do you guys do? Is that normal when transitioning ?

Steam Link + Comfy Couch?

And, well, I love PC games as much as anyone, but the "master race" thing isn't going to go over really well.

- Use a controller
- Plug your PC into your TV or use something like a Steam Link.
- The Steam Controller can help if a game doesn't have controller support. You can also use DS4/X1 controllers with the same Steam Controller interface.
- 'Master Race' is played out.

I'm a couch+controller guy even though 90% of my gaming purchases are for my PC.

Long HDMI+Comfy Couch+Xbox One Controller = Heaven in 60fps/4K.

I also have a Steam controller, works great for games like Pillars of Eternity and VtMB :)

First of all, don't take the "PC MASTERRACE" thing seriously; it's kind of an inside joke, and what ruins it is the toxic reddit community. You're generally looked down upon if you like playing on consoles, and they see consoles as "anti-consumer".

So, yes, PCs are generally superior to consoles when it comes to gaming, but consoles have their place.

Now with that out of the way, you're not confined to your desk for pc gaming. I was using a steam link for a while, but since I moved my PC into the living room, I just use a longer hdmi cable (well, displayport to hdmi) to output to my big screen tv. It's set to mirror monitor 1, so games output as they should. Also, since the PC is hooked up to my ht receiver, I get 5.1 surround, which sounds great.

To handle the controller/peripheral issue, I ran a long usb cable to a powered usb hub, where I can plug in my mouse and keyboard, and a bluetooth receiver for controllers. Because the hub is centrally located, the bluetooth receiver works whether I'm at my pc or desk.

When playing at the desk, the chair makes all the difference in the world.

This is good advice, after I upgraded my gaming desk chair to an amazing leather adjustable fandangled one, my KB+M desk gaming became about 1000% more enjoyable (and headphone quality too).

Good office chair, lightweight mouse (<105g), upright sitting posture, monitor at eye level, forearm perpendicular with table, arm-driven over wrist-driven mouse movement, and a large mouse pad go a long way. There's a lot to optimizing a set-up but it's super comfortable and fun when you do.

Long ass cord to your TV. Comfy chair for playing in front of your computer. I am mouse and keyboard for fps/rts games and controller for almost everything else. Welcome to PC gaming do not call it "Master Race" even as a joke as it is annoying and stupidly overused.

I used to be a couch guy and even did most of my PC gaming on couch+TV over the years. Now I find my Monitor and chair the way to go even with console games.
Invest in a good chair, monitor , headphones, and you will grow to prefer it.

I think steamlink is the worst possible advice.

Best case, hook your pc to the tv directly, but don't expect as comfy a situation as console. You'll need a mouse and keyboard handy tucked away for various random things and just try to get used to it. Eventually you'll get your sweet spot and feel good about it.

Desk gaming is definitely the least comfy option imo.

What chairs do you guys recommend ? Any specific model?

What ever your butt feels comfortable in. I think the gaming chairs look childish and stupid and reminds me of the bonerwads on twitch so I prefer a nice office chair on wheels. Just go down to Staples\Office Depot\Whatever and sit in some.

You can pretty much go to Staples and sit test every chair in their showroom. Some are much comfier than you'd expect. Higher end chairs can run a few hunderd dollars but I find they're generally worth the expense if you find yourself sitting behind a desk for a long time.

Honestly dude, go to Staples or whatever office supplies store is nearby and just sit in a bunch of chairs until you find one you like. I recommend something with a high back or head rest, and arm rests. I like to line up my arm rests with the top of my desk so my arms are at rest and straight when manipulating my keyboard and mouse. But yeah it's all personal preference

My PC is plugged into my main tv and I play on the couch with an Xbone controller. It's pretty much indistinguishable from console gaming.
