I don't think there's an actual remake of this game on the phone?
The art style just doesn't look appealing. There's nothing about it that draws you in, it just seems cartoony but generic.
If you like it, that's great. For me it just turns me off the game

My exact thoughts.
I don't know what else is being re-tooled, but the graphics are taking a big hit.
Would prefer the Switch collection coming to NA.

Looks great cannot wait, do not understand the rampant negativity here. What do people expect nowadays, as long as it retains the original atmosphere it will be just fine.
Show me that remake for my iPhone please, I'll buy it.

The iOS version is essentially a widescreen port of the SNES game with redone UI. I also know that the hit counter has been fixed so it's harder to hit enemies in that version.
You're thinking about Adventure of Mana since it uses the same style.

Also, finally got to confirm something I always wanted to know, what the girl's name would look like localized if they went with the official names, whether they'd keep the "pu" sound from Japanese or go with romanization and just make that a "p". Based on the dub trailer's description it's as I always thought it would and should be; Primm and not Purim.

They basically stuck with the Adventures of Mana art style.
The bright side of that is they're likely not going to stop with just Seiken Densetsu 1 and 2. I'd guess they'll do a Seiken Densetsu 3 remake in the same art style with a worldwide release.

Pls pls pls F6 remake with colorful "deformed" characters (though not necessarily identical to this). Was wishing for that on 3DS for a long time.

Super happy and surprised by this. Will definitely pick this up. Graphics look fine to me, but I'm not convinced about the Voice Acting. Didn't seem too hot in the trailer, but hopefully it will be fine.

I think Seiken Densetsu 3 will be next after this.
And hopefully it does come (despite most likely being a 3D remake) because if it does happen, we can officially play SD3 in English.
Lol damn. And I just started on this game with the Seiken Densetsu Collection. The Japanese price tag probably means it'll have physical PS4/Vita releases over there. At least there's a limited bonus exclusive from Amazon Japan which is a "user manual in original Seiken Densetsu 2 style".
That's quite expensive for a low budget remake. Based on Adventures of Mana, we can at least expect a 1:1 remake with new graphics/music.

EDIT: The English VO (all three lines in that trailer) sucks though. And the Japanese VO didn't sound that much better either.
Hopefully VO can be turned off.
EDIT2: Also, I'm a bit bummed that there will be no Switch version.
The west didn't even get the Seiken Densetsu Collection, so this would've been actually very nice.
But whatever, Steam, Vita, PS4, all are nice, too.
If the Vita version doesn't have a lot of drawbacks compared to the PS4/Steam versions, then I might as well buy it on there.
