Hillary's interview w/ A. Cooper: Sander's supporters are still incredibly divisive

The key difference between centrists (or neolibs if you will) and leftists is that leftists view labor rights as civil rights, while centrists do not. And so long as we live in a society where one has to work to survive, that's going to remain an irreconcilable difference that is going to cause bitter division.

Bernie fans that are still whining that Bernie would have won the general and that Hillary wasn't progressive enough are just sheep for the Russian trolls that are controlling the narrative in American politics. Also there's a whole lot of latent sexism in that group.

And Bernie fans are the divisive ones they say.

What she's saying is one hundred percent correct.
She's not wrong, it's just irritating to see this argument pop up every other week when it could not possibly be less relevant. Disenfranchised Sanders supporters didn't turn the election. Had he been the nominee, he would've lost due to the same Russian interference that Clinton bumped against.

It's a moot point, but both sides are too bitter to just put it behind them.

Why don't people ask this of other losing Presidential candidates? What is unique about this one?

I don't even agree that she should disappear but to be fair losing candidates do typically shrink off into obscurity or have people want them to do so

Look no further than every thread mentioning Bernie in the title.

Youre doing the same thing shes doing, which is the same thing they are doing, which is doing the same thing they say you are doing

In hindsight, Hillary kinda deserved to lose. She was too arrogant and didn't put in the campaign work

But Bernie voters were insufferable when they thought the primaries were fixed

Those two things aren't necessarily related and there's shitty people on both sides. Look no further than every thread mentioning Bernie in the title.

Do you realize in the same post you just denied an emphasis on bullying Sanders supporters and then called them sexist?

Why is she doing this? It only serves to hurt the party that has already been making efforts to include Sanders, not exclude. Selfish. Most people wait years to do something like this.

Not to mention THEY WENT OUT AND VOTED FOR YOU IN LARGE NUMBERS. In an election so close, so many things would have put you over the edge, but those supporters are like number 99 on the list.

They sure as shit make their presence known in any thread related to Clinton, and go out of their way to have a persecution complex in anything related to the election.

This is actually a case where 'both sides' is extremely fair argument.

Democrats are extremely bitter about the election as a whole SPECIFICALLY because the party lost.

The bitterness is not one sided. And the toxicity it breeds is pretty stifling to any progress.

Hillary playing the victim again. What else is new?

Sander's supporters are "divisive" because they don't support a centrist like Hillary. They're not even close on the political spectrum. The arrogance of this woman thinking that she deserves support just because she says so.

How true. I'm done supporting centrists. They are the problem. Working class anger is building and the Democrats centrists' failure to address the root causes of that anger have fueled that anger and inadvertently helped to point it in the Trump (viz. fascist) direction.

I don't think there's any chance that 2020's Democratic primary won't be centered around the very real fault lines between the centrists and the leftists in the party, but for the love of all that is good I hope by then we're able to have conversations about those disagreements without talking about Hillary or Bernie. Those disagreements are legitimate and need to be hashed out, relitigating 2016 isn't a productive way to do it and will just demoralize *everyone*.

Clinton's ship has sailed and Sanders is as popular as ever. If there's anyone being divisive right now it's the one releasing a book blaming everyone for division except themselves.
Seriously, I have no idea why she keeps this flame lit besides trying to heal her ego.

Her primary supporters a decade ago were more vicious than Sanders were last year (after a MUCH more heated primary, second only to '16 Republican primary in that respect in modern times) and, in an alternate reality where Obama somehow lost the '08 election to McCain, her primary supporters would have been just as angry with him as Sanders' is and was with her after she lost to Trump.

If you actually read it she is saying Bernie could be more of a leader for the party but isn't.

Nobody deserves to lose to Trump. Most of America that voted didn't deserve this.

You just added yourself to that shitty people list with that image. She is a career politician with HUGE exposure for more than 20 years, and lost an election to the biggest idiot and sexist in the world. There are people who are tired of her. Not a shock.

Do you realize in the same post you just denied an emphasis on bullying Sanders supporters and then called them sexist?

I was responding to someone wondering why no other losing candidate is constantly asked to "go away", and what the difference was. I pointed out the most obvious difference. What you make of that is your own judgment... I wasn't inferring anything beyond that.

Apparently possibly raising a question of sexism makes me a shitty person. Then so be it.

You can't refuse to unite with bernie supporters and make fun of them and debate them on why they are wrong and then claim innocence of divisiveness when bernie supporters dont unite with you and make fun of you and debate you on why you are wrong. This makes no sense. Both camps are divisive. And have people that arent. Its a stupid generalization overall.

Part of the problem in 2016 is that Hillary needed to throw punches and didn't and tried to immediately reconcile. Fight the shit out, otherwise you just stifle the argument that needs to happen.

I wish Hillary AND Bernie would both disappear.

They can't co-exist and promote the Democratic Party successfully.

They are both a burden on progress.

The reality is this- Hillary isn't a significant part of the Democratic Party's future. Bernie is, whether as candidate again (I hope not, he's too old!) or a kingmaker and policy-setter. Sanders is a sitting senator and one of the most beloved and highest-profile politicians in the country. He isn't going anywhere.

Many GAF posters were heavily invested in Hillary and her campaign in 2016. I understand the anger and disappointment, but it's time to move on. With Hillary dredging this animus up to promote her new book, it's holding the party back. And, honestly, having Clinton associated with the party moving forward is not conducive to winning elections. Most of America flat out does not like her.

You're ignoring the impact of having people constantly post on social media about their begrudged support, the toxicity of constantly regurgitating GOP propaganda. Basically painting her as not nearly as bad as Trump, instead of an imperfect version of their original candidate that was Sanders.

This sure as shit had an impact on the dipshits we call "swing voters" when it came time to vote.

She needs to go away for the sake of the democratic party. Dragging on about a lost election makes them seem like they're looking back and not forward.

Hillary playing the victim again.

Of course she feels victimized. She devotes her life to public service while owning up to her own failures, mistakes, and shortcomings as best she can, and some silver spoon assholes turn her into Satan incarnate, while presenting an ignoramus, who doesn't know habeas corpus from a dead corpse, who lives only for himself, as an equally, no, more desirable candidate. And millions of people buy it hook, line, and sinker.

Then she has to sit by while he destroys the country she loves and causes untold pain and suffering.

And people continue to act like she's "not as bad" rather than "Not perfect." If she hasn't done anything truly malicious, then why shouldn't she feel victimized when she's treated like a bad person?

No lies detected, all Sanders and his supporters want is to divide the party. Every action he takes makes this crystal clear. Man is only in it for himself.

One of them is writing books because she still can't accept she lost and got embarrassed while the other one continues to work hard to try and improve the lives of all Americans.

How nice of you to compliment Nancy Pelosi without her even being mentioned.

...preeeetty sure that the 2016 presidential election had some events happen that have never happened before. Russian hacking, a celebrity being a major party's nominee, a woman being a major party's nominee, Comey's letter to congress sent 12 days before the election that negatively impacted one of the candidates.

Oh, and possible illegal collusion that caused most of the above.

I think Hillary has a right to be bitter.

Now we know why Trump is still talking about winning the election. Hillary can't let it go either.

Yet the terrible candidate according to many is still out there pushing his agenda and gathering support amongst the party that put its weight behind Hillary instead of dwelling on the past and whining.

What the fuck happened to all y'alls narrative last year that criticism and discussion was healthy and important?

Now someone needs to "go away"?

Bernie wrote a book after the election. In which this passage exists:
I don’t see anything wrong with that passage. He’s painting a picture of an uphill battle.

Honestly I dcan’t JR care. I voted for Hillary in my primary and in the general but it’s time to move on and move left.

Part of the problem in 2016 is that Hillary needed to throw punches and didn't and tried to immediately reconcile. Fight the shit out, otherwise you just stifle the argument that needs to happen.

And I think what's going on right now is that everyone (on either side of the hillary/bernie relitigation debate) is looking for a narrative that gives them some sort of catharsis for the bad things that happened in 2016, rather than thinking with clarity about what needs to be done for 2020. People can say that Faction X needs to be defeated for future victories, but ten times out of ten they're really motivated to say that out of a desire for revenge for perceived wrongs in 2016. It's a bad situation.

Her actions on this book tour make the Bernie holdouts look smarter than us Bernie fans who gave her our votes.

She doesn't care. We're all guilty in her eyes for choosing Bernie over her in the primary.

Hillary is mentally ill. Not Trump levels but she's not fit to serve.
