Still thinking about that ads whipping from yesterday, just god damn man. Bright spot was Witten playing in his 225th game and becoming the franchise leader in games played. I expect dallas to beat on the cards with old man Palmer at qb.

Romo made him a better receiver than he was. He doesn't have a QB to elevate his game anymore.

He's a great WR though. Better than anything on the birds.
Foot injuries derailed much of his ability. His are not as severe but remember how good Hakeem Nicks was? He wasn't the same after the Bucs game in 2012 when he was destroying Talib.

Browns almost beat us, so we had to enact the proper punishment.

If you come that close in Heinz, we will invent a basketball team and kidnap Lebron.

Sunday marked the first time two Los Angeles NFL teams were home since 1994, but no one seemed to care.

Both the L.A. Chargers and L.A. Rams played in relatively empty stadiums.

Check out this photo of the 27,000-seat StubHub Center during Sunday's Dolphins vs. Chargers game:

The StubHub Center holds 27,000. The Chargers failed to sell the game out, as the announced attendance was 25,381, which is the number of tickets “distributed” not the number of people through the turnstiles.

Based on reports on the ground, roughly 50 percent of the crowd were there to cheer on the visiting Miami Dolphins.

I'm not buying this BS about the run game not working so they had to do pass pass pass. This is just Reid all over again down to the excuses. If the passing game isn't working do Reid or Pederson ever go away from it?

There is no reason Wentz should be throwing 45 times against the Chiefs. Fact is that the more you run, the better balance you have, it protects a young QB, helps the OLINE actually push back, and just like KC had you only need one big break for a big run.

The Eagles had no consistency. Sproles gets 1 carry then they would go pass pass pass even after getting a 1st down. Then Smallwood gets a carry. 1 carry total for Blount. A 3 headed monster only works if you actually run the ball.

This is a good OLINE but it can't pass protest the whole game. You have to stick with the run game. It was a 1 possession or tied game most of the game and they abandoned the run before the half was over.

I still cant believe that Blount only got one touch. There is no way to know if he would have been able to even do anything. Some how it actually feels like dougie has regressed as a play caller this year. I don't get why Lurie hasn't stepped in and taken that away from him. Howie has also had 2 fucking offseason now to find a RB that the head coach trusts and he has failed twice now. Sucks that this upcoming offseason they are going to have to totally revamp the OL and also try to find a good RB. The Eagles D has been better then anyone could have expected, especially with the injuries in the secondary, but man the offense just sucks. If Wentz isn't scrambling around making some crazy play they don't score.

Joe Six-Pack: posting for the common man

i dont know why the NFL has such a hard on for NFL in LA, its been tried, multiple times, and every time its failed.

you wanted a new stadium so you threatened to move the team? Well how has that worked out. You didnt get your new stadium and you can't even sell out a 27k seat stadium. There were more people at the astros game yesterday. I also saw there were more people at PHI and two other baseball teams that suck yesterday.

Is there a more boring oc than Linehan in the NFL? I hate that they stopped trying to run the ball so early I realize Denver was shutting everything down you can't stop after 8 attempts and let Dak throw 50 fucking times. Garrett has always done this and to no ones surprise except Garretts or Linehans apparently it never works.

O'Brien: rookie linebackers Zach Cunningham & Dylan Cole got game balls vs Cincinnati.

Fuck Cushing! Said before the Bengals game they would be fine. Both those rookies had good games. Vrabel and John Butler (DB coach) are the only two members of the Texans staff I trust anymore

The best part about the Eagles yesterday is that they looked like the best team in the NFC East hands down.

Yeah that is so true even with their problems this year they should win the division. Redskins are a really bad team, Giants offense is in shambles, and the Cowboys hopefully are going to take a step back this year.

This is probably going to be my favorite moment of the season. Nothing like accidentally celebrating that you suck.

Blount is garbage.

Thank you for this insightful post about. Stil doesn't change what I said. They brought him in and kept him over other guys they had in camp. Surely the plan wasn't to give him 1 carry per game.

Looked being the keyword. It was as close to a "good" loss as you can have considering the injuries and the opponent they were up against, but I have no doubt the Cowboys and Giants are going to be the best teams in the division by seasons end.

I should have gone to the Dolphins-Chargers game, but I was actually worried that getting tickets would be hard due to the small stadium. Looks like I severely overestimated that situation. I bet half that stadium was there for Miami anyway.

I was happy to see Miami win, but it felt very lucky in more ways than just the kicker missing a game winner. Miami had ENORMOUS holes in coverage all day and a better team would have 40 on them with no problem if that's going to be the strategy going forward.

I question what you have seen from the Giants that even makes them look remotely good. I think tonight is going to be more evidence that they're completely dysfunctional on offense.

So if the Lions win tonight they are in sole possession of first place.... can't wait to see us lose it, just like every year :(. Why do I do this to myself?

I should learn to never get excited about the Lions, but I just can't help it.

I will never really write off the Giants with eli. They have looked bad before and risen from the grave to do great things.

As a Vikings fan, I know your pain all to well. Thankfully the wheels fell off for us week 2, so we didn't have to get our hopes up to much before the let down.

Didn't get to watch the Steelers game yesterday..watching it today.

All I can think is that the Saints suck ass. We all know their defense are perennial bed-shitters but considering how porous the Vikings o-line is against the Steelers here they should have at least hassled Bradford some. And fine, Brees couldn't get anything going against the Vikings monster defense but then he can only put up 20 points against the Asterisks pillow rush?

There's looking bad, and there's looking dysfunctional. They can't protect the QB at all. I don't see that changing this season. Beckham coming back will help a little, but they're never going to have the time for deep passes to him. They can't run behind that line either. Maybe the line isn't as bad as it looks but so much of the game is determined by the lines that it's not really promising for them.

If they can't protect Eli tonight I really don't see how they're going to do better than 8-8 at the absolute best.

Interesting piece on what tonight's Giants game means for the Lions:

Detroit Free Press said:
Beat the Giants – and Odell Beckham Jr. – and the perception in Allen Park starts to change. Actually, it starts to change everywhere else.

The Lions didn’t beat a playoff team a year ago. They beat only one team with a winning record – the Washington Redskins, who were 8-7-1.
...

If he and the offense manage just six points again, with a healthy Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick and the addition of receiver Kenny Golladay, then we’ll know a few things about the offense. If the receivers can’t get open, and the Giants shut down the running game again, we’ll know that what we’ve heard from Allen Park is nothing more than talk.

It'd be nice for the Lions not to be embarassing on national television. We'll see if I get to watch the game tonight after class gets out.

Fake edit:

Listen. Not watch. Stupid cable.

I dunno, normally I'm with you, but that OL is completely awful. The Cowboys looked like an elite defense going against Eli. He's started to regress and can't make those big throws anymore, and even if he did, he gets maybe 1.5 seconds to throw. And again, the NFC East goes against most of the best defenses in the league this year. OBJ will help with the occasional slant that turns into a TD, but I don't think that's enough. I don't see the Giants going anywhere, despite their incredible defense.

It has onlt been one game. Without their best player and they played Dallas in Dallas.

Way too early to make statements about who is best or worst in the division.

I don't doubt the Eagles are better and serious challengers for the WC spot, but I am not ready to crown them or make definitive statements about the Giants or Cowboys.

If the Giants win tonight, the whole division is 1-1. Giants can just as likely beat the Eagles next week, and all of a sudden they look great at 2-1 and the Eagles are behind the curve at 1-2.

I want to see how Pederson adjusts, if at all. Is the line going to get more help? Maybe run more plays out of 2-3TE sets? Run the ball more?

Someone also needs to work with Carson on not getting his passes deflected. He has had 5 already in only 2 games.

More like 13. TD came really late. They also scored 9 until very late in the Vikings game.

I could see on TV it was bad, but goddamn. Also, note that it looks like over half the fans at StubHub's stadium are wearing turquoise.

Fuck the NFL and fuck Jerry Jones for blackballing San Antonio getting a team. Texas can support 3 pro football teams far better than LA has proven it can't, and even though Austin will never have a pro team due to UT's stranglehold on the city it would definitely support a San Antonio club.

Said it a decade ago, should've become the San Antonio Chargers.

To be fair, if the Lions hadn't swept the Vikings they would have had a winning record and if the Lions had been swept the Vikings would have won the division. So yeah technically only one win over a winning team, but the reason the Vikings weren't a winning team is because of the Lions.
