Okay let's put it this way
I know a bit more than im letting on and choosing to be intentionally vague for reasons ive already spoken about in this thread.
In addition to that, Fromsoft isn't in the same position they were when they made Demon Souls. Something big pre Dark Souls series and post Dark Souls series are going to be two different things for obvious reasons. Because Dark Souls was a runaway success. Bloodborne was big too, but it's still in its brother's Shadow, as is Demon Souls.
So with that in mind, this isn't a big thing
This is the big thing.

I heard a thing about a thing, which maybe about another thing which is related to that first thing in a small way but kinda major deal. The thing I'm talking about is actually important though, unlike that other thing I think was important before but not as much.

KillerQueen with the vague INSIDERZ scoops! Love it!
Well, im not going to put someone out of a job for leaking some info on NeoGAF. Because well, i have sone compassion for others.

I was told that should big info start getting leaked there would be a hunt around the office to catch said person, and obviously the next result would should said person be caught they lose their job. This person enjoys their job a lot and obviously trusts me to some degree. So I could just start leaking everything I know (which isn't really all that much) for the sake of GAF attention to which many people still wouldn't believe me anyway, lose the small window I have into the development of games I enjoy quite a bit and potentially ruin someone elses life.

Or, i could not do that, drop a few vague hints here and there (which said person is totally okay with me doing) and leave it at that. You and anyone else is totally free to believe im bullshitting, it doesn't really affect me in any way. People have believed that im a bs'er for months upon months now.

Wonder when we'll ever see what ARTDINK is working on for PS4...

(from the 2013 list of devs working on PS4 games)

Please give me a new Aquanaut's Holiday for PSVR!

Fromsoft is a much bigger deal now after they released the souls series than they were prior to said event.

The souls games are both massively successful and have reached many people around the world, Dark Souls obviously being the most successful of their 3 souls series titles.

Expectations for From game releases, ARPGs in particular are in turn, much higher externally and likely internally.

While Demon's Souls may have been a big deal prior to the massive success of the Souls games, the bar has now been raised and the world is watching what they put out next, this wasn't really the case when Demons Souls or even the first Dark Souls hit.

So comparatively, what would be considered "a big deal" now would be a much larger metric compared to before. Especially considering how much the souls games have impacted the industry.

So if I say this up coming game is a big deal and Fromsoft's next big thing, it shouldn't be hard to infer why Fromsoft's next big title (and this is Fromsoft's next big title would be a bigger deal than what came before. Because now they have nearly a decade of experience, three series and 5 games under their belt and millions upon millions of copies sold.

I really shouldn't have to spell that out.

I'm really not sure what Killer Queen is being insidery about.

From Software are developing a multiplatform title and it's a new IP. Okay, we knew this already.

If From Software was working on another Sony game we wouldn't hear it from them. like how Bloodborne and Demon's Souls were absent from the lineup video they put out last year

All I wish for is
stream translator-chan-sama
to make a triumphant comeback.

Haha, I'd be surprised if they're not since they've been doing it a couple of years now it seems lol.

Like, I'm not expecting 2015 level of greatness but at least I hope it'll be better than last year.

Keep Kojima far away from the stage if he has nothing to show. That would be a start.

Yeah. Hopefully it's at least closer to 2015/2014 than last year's one.

Looking forward to it.

The stuff announced at E3 isn't stuff generally announced at TGS. PGW and PSX sure, but TGS has always been its own separate thing in terms of game announcements. Apples and oranges. Having more apples to go around has no effect on places you need oranges. Now that's not to say TGS is going to be good or bad or what your expectations should be, just that your expectations shouldn't be based on E3 at all.

Yup.

Only real crossover will probably be some of the biggest of the big western titles like COD (and perhaps the Horizon DLC) getting its usually trailer in the conference.

Not really related directly to this thread, but does anyone have the schedule for the other press conferences happening at TGS? Times for MS, Nintendo, third parties? I didn't see any other threads for TGS shows.

It's cute you thought MS would have a conference lol.

An IGN editor covering TGS says IGN have a "crazier Tuesday than usual this year". I remember IGN went and saw the FFXV trailer and played Type-0 HD behind closed doors before TGS 2014. Probably will be nothing major, but interesting.

She says she will have a very busy day covering games. Didn't sound like a game tease.

Nice that it's on at 8am instead of 3am, like some conferences, so at least I can get some sleep and just get up in the morning to watch it.

I hope we get a release window for Ace Combat 7, other than just "2018". Also, this will be the first numbered Ace Combat title that's multi-platform across PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Also, perhaps Namco will also make good on that Ridge Racer & Ace Combat remake poll where Ridge Racer Type 4 and AC5 The Unsung War won the votes.

As for From Software, I think it's their time, given that DS3 was revealed all the way back at E3 2015.

Kaz coming out and yelling RIIIIIIIDGGGGGGEEEE RAAACCCCEERRR!! would make this a 10/10 conference.

What happened to their Switch project? Was that ever a thing?

If you're asking about an actual exclusive Switch game then it was never a thing outside of fanboy dreams, as far as I'm aware. But if you're asking for any Switch support then their logo appeared in one of those "third party support" charts Nintendo put out, which isn't a guarantee of support but it does mean they'll at least have a devkit. I wouldn't bet on their big "Action RPG" coming to Switch but I'm sure one of their upcoming games will.
