Upcoming Vita Games (~200+ Upcoming games in ENGLISH) || 2017 Edition ||

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
What are the easy platinums on the Vita? Preferably adventure (point and click), platformer, and the JRPG genre. :p

By the way, big EU sale on at the minute. Loads of classic games for great prices.

Also, Everybody's Golf servers are going down in December. Play now if you care about trophies!

Easy or fast? Because most VNs and JRPGs are easy, but take a while. Adventure game's like Grim Fandango or Day of the Tentacle have a ton of missable stuff so unless you use a guide
to be fair I always do, but I'm not a fan of the genre
that'll be hard AND time consuming, if you use a guide it becomes easy and fast.

In addition to the other good recommendations people made I'd say Undertale, Sound Shapes, Severed, Odin Sphere, and Hotaru no Nikki in that order.

Also if you're completely shameless you can get My Name is Mayo

I'm realllly struggling with this. Like, I finally reached the point where I was going to quit trophies [I made a line in the sand]. But it's really hard for me to not try to complete everything in a game. I mean, I absolutely hate chasing trophies [collectibles, etc] but I absolutely love feeling like I got every last thing in a game done. And I usually do so much naturally, it's hard to just not go that extra mile.

I wish trophies just never were implemented, really. I know some people can just ignore them, but I find that terribly difficult.

Yeah, I very much know that feeling. That's exactly how I felt for the longest time, but I've got too many games I want to play (just got round to starting Nioh, 8 odd months late!) and I've come to the conclusion that trophies, while kinda fun to get are really pointless for the most part. Online trophies especially, I'm not a fan of online gaming myself so it annoys me when games chuck these in (for online centric games its fine really, but when a single player game has an awful online mode for the heck of it with trophies attached, that just sucks!). Plus grinding and hidden collectable trophies are void of fun.

So now I just aim for trophies in Capcom releases (huge fan of them, especially Mega Man), challenging 2D games (mainly just difficulty related trophies) and Yakuza (I love 100%ing Yakuza games, its the only time I'll tolerate grind or hidden collectable trophies!) Oh, and DJ Max, that game has a vice grip on me and won't let go! Most of its trophies are super straight forward though, just really tough!

Anyway, got my copy of Danganrompa V3 today. Quite glad it turned up, quite surprised that it was this hard to track down so close to its release, I'll be pre ordering Vita games from now on since they are getting slightly harder to track down.

Holy crap, missed that. I thought I'd placed an order but evidently I hadn't (think I was waiting for my points from my last order to be credited to my 365games account) and now it's out of stock!

Good job I'm not in a rush to play it, at least NISA Europe's store will always have (overpriced) copies.

Was also just lookin for a EU Vita copy of Danganronpa V3 and it's out of stock everywhere. I hope there will be restocks because I don't want to import if possible. Especially since it would be a hassle to use the Voice DLC then.

I'm not sure, but Lost Child doesn't even have a release date and it's already sold out.

Do you get blocked during the checkout process or something? Because I just added TLC to my cart just fine and it didn't say sold out.

Also I initially thought there was an LE for The Lost Child on Vita then with your reply. Dreams shattered.

Out of stock on 365games; Shopto.

Amazon; Base; GAME; Grainger & Zavvi don't have it at all for some reason. Also can't find it in the NISA Europe store which is completely bizarre.

Yeah... maybe I'm gonna have to pre-order every Vita game I want going forward for risk of this happening. What a bizarre situation. I hope I haven't missed it altogether.

Base had it, but they removed it from their store after release :(

Wondering whether I should pre-order Chaos;Child now. PQube games tend to get cheaper very quickly but I also don't want to risk missing out :'D

Yeah, exactly what I found. Shopto eBay had some stock Friday and they sold through their load real quick as well (70+ copies). So yeah, I think we are seeing Vita allocations shrink - especially in the UK.

It had a graphical overhaul yet sold around 60-65k less. That's like %45 down from the last game. You can call it a huge disappointment at best.

That being said I don't see it being ported to Vita.

Of course it sold less. It's on one platform instead of two. I doubt Falcom would see it as a huge disappointment given how their other games sold. Most of the sales will come from the rest of Asia, just like with Sen 1 & 2.

I kinda doubt they are content with this result. They could have not make a bigger invesment and make the game multiplatform with Vita and sell much more than this. To me it seems obvious that they ditched the Vita version and made a prettier game so it could capture a bigger audience.

Tbh Kiseki III could sell much higher than what it did for PS4 if it was a Vita exclusive. Obviously Vita crowd haven't moved to PS4, maybe a Switch port could help but then I'm not so sure how well it would do on there either.

And about Asia, I'm not following it closely these days but I thought Vita was still going strong in the rest of the Asia?

I can add that to my cart. Says 51-75% left.

I guess my buying habits are gonna have to change again lol. I've been prioritizing LRG releases > Asian-English releases > PAL releases due to rarity issues, but seems I might have to re-think that.

Also I'm seriously worried I may have missed out on the PAL version of DanganRonpa. What the hell!

Those have always been my priorities as well. But lately - especially with stuff like Tokyo Xanadu and Period Cube they had been getting harder to find at launch - but always restocked. But DR3 seemed a bit different in that its still not been restocked to my knowledge. Which makes me super glad I didn't wait like I did on a few other titles. So I'm just taking the heavy handed approach and going after anything on release these days. Less stressful than tracking them down later.

It wasn’t that big of an investment and making a Vita version wouldn’t work. They already struggled with Sen 1 and 2 and had to cut some stuff out.

Sen 3’s sales could have been better, certainly, but things aren’t dire by any stretch. Falcom was conservative with the game and seeing how they’ll be able to reuse assets for Sen 4 they should be fine with the numbers.

Unfortunately, Vita isn’t going strong anywhere anymore.

Cold Steel 3 losing about 80k copies sold does not raise any eyebrows? You can't just day it's okay, Asia will pick up the losses, an Asian region success is not guaranteed.

What are the numbers for CS 1&2 in Asia?

Gamestop has a "4 for X" deal going right now.

4 Used Games $4.99 and less for $10
4 Used Games $9.99 and less for $20
4 Used Games $17.99 and less for $40

Even though a lot of their Vita games are still $19.99+, it might be a good opportunity to pick up some random Lego games

I mean, one of the reasons Falcom updated their earnings forecast was because Sen 3’s preorders were good. We won’t know the actual numbers until November though.

There is no regional breakdown but combined sales of Sen 1 and 2 are over 1 million. Around 380k is from Japan.

Since Cold Steel 3 seems to have bombed in Japan, what are the chances of a gimped Vita port from Falcom?

You know what that means, right guys? They'll soon see the light and finally look for a partner to localize the evolution games :p

I mean common, they gotta make that money back some how right?

Realistically, they'll probably bank on the localization to make the money back. The audience outside Japan for the series has been getting bigger so that's more of a reason to think so.

The worst part about Sen 3 is that the enjoyment you’ll derive from it hinges on your knowledge of Zero and Ao and the odds of us getting both games (before CS3) are pretty much nonexistant.

Xseed please!

Are fan translations for these games making head way? Are they even been done at all?

Zero actually has a half competent translation already, which is still being worked on. The one for Ao still needs quite a bit of work, but you could probably understand the jist of the main story at least.

I actually had Dangan V3 pre-ordered and I wanted to change my order to 365games and I was waiting for some player points to be added to my account, and now it's out of stock not only there but everywhere.

I mean, I'm sure I will be able to track down a PAL copy eventually, but this is really getting me worried lol.

People play the Trails series for the story and characters. NISA would just butcher it. Ys and Danganronpa are proof enough.

I have no problem with Danganronpa from them. Ys viii has definite issues tho but with xseed the vita version would’ve likely been skipped so again I’m glad NISA got it.

Don't think Xseed would've skipped the vita version. Ys may be niche, but it's still popular within that niche.

Danganronpa's localization is abhorrent. Especially the latest game that's riddled with typos, grammatical errors, stilted dialogue, incorrect translation and completely changing how characters act. They had multiple translators and editors for the game(s) and it shows.

If NISA gets Cold Steel 3, you can look forward to them turning Laura into a cavewoman while everyone else's personalities resemble a cardboard. The best of both (Ys VIII and NDV3) worlds! :p

I just tweeted to base.com and they said they are still waiting for a date, but that they will restock the game?

Is there an updated list of Vita exclusives around? Preferably something that can sort through physical releases as well? The one on Wikipedia is more than 3 years out of date.

Trying to get up to snuff with physical exclusives for Vita.

What do you mean by exclusives?
As in Vita is the sole platform for the title? Not many of those left.
