Stardew Valley for Nintendo Switch |OT| Starving for a Harvest

Is there a good way to farm copper ore besides buying it? The drop rates in the mine seem awful.

Getting the copper axe gave me a similar feeling to getting the bigger backpack. I am now a god with complete dominance over Stardew Valley. Kneel before me puny trees!

How far are you in the mine? Just mine the copper nodes specifically and don't bother wasting time mining the other rocks. After floor 20 or so, the copper nodes become more frequent.

The water farm is for fishing though, because you can actually catch fish there. On the other farms you can only catch litter out of the bodies of water on your farm.
Did they change this in an update? I haven't played since a few months after release, but you were definitely able to catch fish on the default farm.

Had it softlock on me twice in a row when I attempting to donate a mineral to the museum. Each time when I tried to place it somewhere it seemed to succeed, update the journal, but then I couldn't leave the donate menu.

Otherwise I'm having a great time!

How to I split items in the inventory? Wanted to only sell one fish but pressed everything but I couldn’t split the items.

I think it’s Y actually. If it’s not working try restarting, I think I had an issue with this yesterday but haven’t had a problem since

I only tried about 5 times, but I caught one fish in a pond on my farm. The other attempts got me trash and a soda.

Is there a way to drop items in your inventory instead of just trashing it?

move the item to the "organize" button, has the same effect as dropping it. However, dropping items is a little annoying because usually your character will automatically pick it up again anyway

Is there a way to look at the community center tab in the menu without having to toggle off controller style menus?

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I can't select the 3rd row of items (bait and campfire for now) in the crafting menu, the cursor goes straight into the bag when I press down. I have to switch to the cursor style menus to select them.

Menu navigation is pretty bad overall, you can tell it's designed to work with a mouse and they did the minimum to adapt it to a controller.

I mean I'm able to just press right on the right side of my inventory to click the tab

The same thing happened to me. It seems that with certain combinations of crafting recipes learned it's impossible to click on some of them. Next time you learn a recipe it should fix itself (until the next time).

I just came here to post about this, it's so annoying.

I'm on day 15 and have like 5000$ saved. Mostly fishing and growing what ever crops take 4 days to develope. What else should I be doing?

Talk to people
Give them gifts
Find love
Or find the mines
Buy more seeds
Plant them
Keep you cash close to $0
Always have you money doing something to make even more

Get some of the crops that take longer to grow down before it's too late (they net you more money)

Go explore the mines if you enjoy combat.

Build up relationships.

Work on the community center bundles

Honestly though you can do whatever you want, whatever you enjoy most, there is no right answer.

Are beehouses good investments? And are tappers better placed in Maple Trees rather than others?

My goal is to have a couple of beehouses plus a coop (and hopefully some chickens!) by the end of summer.

I have no idea what I am doing.

I spent 30 mins just chopping down small shrubs and pieces of wood.

I should probably start over.

Nah man, you're good. You can pretty much take your time with this game. Today you clear your farm, tomorrow you plant some veggies and water them, the day after you fight over whether Leah or Emily is best.

I just got my first artifact from cracking open Geodes at the Blacksmith.

I got a message that the Museum might want it or something, but the artifact never showed up in my inventory. Tried restarting and same thing happened again.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Honey is a good gift, almost everyone likes it.

Oak resin is probably most useful in bulk, you’ll want to make a bunch of wine barrels eventually. Get enough Maple to make a small bee setup, then move mostly to resin.

Is it the lady with the husband who is away? I did the same..

True best girl.

Fuck me I somehow never took the time to realize a month/season only has 28 days and planned my plantings around 30 days building up to bigger and bigger plantings. I wasted like 60+ cauliflower that were just a day away from harvest. I just needed one more goddamn day and I'd have been rolling in money. Now I'm starting summer with like barely 2k.

Running speed is painfully slow. I feel like I waste half the day just getting around and just try to focus on one single task for the day to minimize my time traveling. The lack of rumble is also super painful and bizarre. There are so many opportunities for HD Rumble use, or just plain old rumble, yet there's nothing.

Found an awful bug: if you fish on the bottom left corner of the dock next to Willy’s store and it lands on the pillar, you can’t move or open menus other than your journal until your character passes out from exhaustion. How annoying.

Two ways to allieviate runspeed blues: 1) get a horse stable built from Robin, requires some Hardwood so get your ace upgraded. 2) get the mine carts running again via the Community Center.

Both are moderately involved projects, but not outrageous.

Please report the bug on the official forums or Switch Reddit so they see and fix the bug.

Oh, I didn’t even know that was a thing. I’ll be sure to do that! Don’t wan’t anyone else to deal with something like this

I feel like I'm having a really hard time making any money..

If you’re in the Spring, what I did was fish like crazy (the mountains and the cave
twentieth floor
) and plant a shit ton of Cauliflower.

Summer, Melons sell for
250g
each, plus there’s even more fish to find and most of them are worth a lot, especially in the ocean.
