EDIT
I focused way too much on the loot boxes part in the original post.
My main gripe is that two features of the game are locked away behind a online service that when shut down will remove these features from the game. If I could I'd change the title to "Two Features in Shadow of War are online Only"
ORIGINAL POST FOLLOWS:
So it has come to my attention that two features of Shadow of War are only available from loot boxes.
The first feature is Reassignment Orders, which you use to transfer a orc from region to region and to and from garrisons.
So say you have a specific orc you really like, you can't take him with you further in the game if you don't buy loot boxes and get a Reassignment Order.
The other feature is Training Orders, which you use to customize your orcs by giving them specific traits.
Some examples:
Epic Training: Mighty Savages (Grants a follower a boost to the effectiveness of nearby Savages)
Poison Training (Grants a follower a Poison Weapon)
Mount Training Legendary (Grants a follower a Defencive Graug)
The only way to get these are by buying loot boxes.
And just to add insult to injury you can't use purchased Training Orders when offline.
Now I don't own the game, I just wanted to put this information out there.
We shouldn't accept that publishers/devs do this, lock away content behind loot boxes and online services.
We as players don't gain anything from this, while publishers/devs hold all the cards and can turn off the online market whenever they see fit and voila, Reassignment Orders and Training Orders no longer exist in Shadow of War.
There are a couple of threads about this on steam and the official forums that asks the developers to patch these features so they can drop in the open world of the game.
I'm well aware you can buy loot boxes with in game currency, that is not my point. This post is about the game locking content away behind loot boxes and a online service (which is by far the worst part).
