I'm out of the loop here. What would have been better?

The new game BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is the better choice.

Releasing a port of Central Fiction would've been bad because it has already been out for a year on other consoles. Niche fighting games get very cheap by then, I bought the retail version of Central Fiction on PS4 for very cheap a few months ago.

Releasing an Extend version of Central Fiction wouldn't be much better despite coming at a cheaper price because they usually suffer worse sales. Extend versions have some new characters and a little extra story content, it's not like a completely new game that gives people incentive to buy, it's the game you already have but with some more content.

Of course there's no Extend version of Central Fiction and if ASW decided that Switch owners would get a port of an old game while PS4 and Steam got the new and novel crossover game, Switch owners would be put off just like how Bandai Namco avoid announcing a Switch version of Dragon Ball FighterZ despite people begging for it since BN want good sales of Xenoverse 2.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
I think Mario Maker Switch next year is likely so they can take their time for a complete reboot of the 2D main series. NSMB art style is likely done unless its used for mobile games.

I would expect a the 2D Mario reboot to hit sometime 2019 in addition to the more compact/smaller Switch revision and the mainline Pokemon.

Do you think Mario Maker could just replace 2D Mario platformers? make expansions and free updates for it and stuff like that. I know NSMB sold insane amounts of copies, but i dont know what effect a mario maker could have on those sales, me personally, i would rather have Mario maker and its infinite created levels than pay for another NSMB.

It sure could but this would have negative impact on Nintendos bottom line.

Last gen they were able to sell.

3D Land
3D World
Mario Maker WiiU
Mario Maker 3DS
NSMB 2 DS
NSMB U

they wont go from those releases to just Mario Odyssey and Mario Maker Switch - there is def. enough space for a "traditional" 2D Mario on Switch without threatening the sales of the other Mario plattformers.

17 - Odyssey
18 - Mario Maker for Switch
19 - new 2D Mario

I can see that happening.

I think 2018 is enough for 2D Mario, along with other former handheld mainstay like animal crossing, warioware, etc.

I think a deluxe edition of 3D World + Capitan Todd might be likely as summer filler at some point too. The set up just makes too much sense for the Switch.

They should consider getting Good-Feel on a potential Super Mario Land Switch game as a follow-up to Wario Land: Shake It, hand-drawn 2D by Production I.G. and all.

It makes sense to revisit 3D and Captain Toad at some point...but at least 3D World isnt happening anytime soon. Dont expect another 3D Mario on Switch before at least one 2D Mario is out. Just like BotW - MariO will likely sell very well for most of 2018.

Completly new game
Remaster/Switch version
and repeat

So

Mario Odyssey
Mario Maker for Switch with new features/levels
new 2D Mario
3D World for Switch with features/levels

This would set their time schedule till 2010 since i dont see them releasing more then one plattformer per year.

The post 2019 titles (new 2D Mario and 3D World) will likely focus on multiplayer and coop - so depending on how Switch performs until then there could be changes in the schedule. But 2019 for the new 2D plattformer makes the most sense to me.

I would love a new Mario 3D World style Mario which will focus on more large and providing that 3D Mario Multiplayer thirst.^_^

why don't they fuse Captain Toad,Mario 3D Land,Mario 3D World into one game and sell it for 60$

Ninty is not that kind lol. U will get ur 3D World and 3D Land for 90 bucks and Captain Toad as digital Download code free as pre-order.^_^

I want Good Feel to make a metroidvania as the staff worked on Castlevania in the past. Problem is Metroid is already taken.

I'd rather they simply relaunch the 'de asobu selection' re-release series and sell individual titles for a reasonable price than a collection when it comes to Wii U game on Switch.

I'd really like a new Mario Maker in which Nintendo created their own 2d Mario games. I don't know how practical or economical that would be, but it'd be the best of both worlds, and I would really love it.

This isnt happening...MK8D, Pokken and co. show the way which things are moving. You would have a point if those games were straight ports or rom dumps - but porting games from WiiU to Switch costs money and they are adding modes/content to these releases to justify the price.

What you are hoping for is what you get with Virtual console releases but i dont think Nintendo will do this for their WiiU --> Switch retail releases. They are selling these games more or less to a new audience considering Switch will outsell WiiU lifetime sales very soon.

Switch third party support is so stale that people start dreaming about old... Nintendo ports? Not even old ports are a lock despite its success, from nowadays third party on switch

Please please stop.

Literally hours after a third party game is confirmed for Switch you derail this thread again with a pithy, brainless statement on a topic having nothing to do with third party support solely for the purpose of what I'm not sure

You've gone from annoyingly negative to active trolling.

'stubborn' - adjective
"Having or showing dogged determination not to change one's attitude or position on something, especially in spite of good reasons to do so."
Synonyms: obstinate, stubborn as a mule, mulish, Aostia, headstrong, wilful, strong-willed, self-willed, Aostia, pig-headed, bull-headed, obdurate, awkward, difficult, Aostia, contrary, perverse, recalcitrant, refractory, did we mention Aostia?

Little hours..?
That game was announced back in January. Nine months ago. We got details, but it adds nothing more to the switch third party support situation.

I am trolling... While people discussing about which last gen first party game should be brought over to the leading console in the market are acting normally for a MC thread...

OK.

The sooner era people will understand how critical the situation is, the better.
I really hope at Nintendo they aren't as happy and reassured about the Switch future market situation as some user here

And this, little hours after Famitsu president confirmed the issues I am underlining since last Spring

What's your issue with people wanting ports of Wii U games on their new system? Sony has done a lot of ports and remasters of their PS2 and PS3 library and they have even said publicly that these games sell well because a good majority of PS4 owners did not have a PS3. Most Switch owners probably didn't have a Wii U, so what's the big stink that you're correlating this to?

Convenience stores have MarioOdyssey download cards in stock.

Because u are obsessed. Even when people are talking about any chances of getting a port of game they missed before, u just can't stop yourself into talking about Switch Third Party and How Gloom and Dead it was. Stop it bro, U had ur chance to talk about Switch third party already. You don't need to act so high and mighty for those who want to see some game they missed there.

Huh. I didn't know that there are still people that use writing U instead of you. Thought it was gone when it was clear that WiiU wouldn't be a success.

Not sure why Nintendo should be worried. Third party support won´t be a critical factor whether the switch is going to be a hit or not. It´s more like third parties should be worried because they are missing out a potential income source.

Aren't you the user who I've seen pop up in Nintendo review threads for your site? You're usually level-headed and even bubbly at times about Nintendo there. But then there's... these sorta comments from you as well. It's like you're two different people at times lol.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with people wanting ports like TMS. I don't think it will happen but you seem outright hostile at times.

On average YSO is expecting Gran Turismo Sport's first week to be on par with Gran Turismo 6.

Apart from that it doesn't seem like they're all aware of everything coming out next week as there's a large disagreement.

Do people like download cards just because they can use different payment options and not put their card information online?

Or do they provide some other benefit?

If this is correct, then it mean GT won't drop that bad in Japan, at least some stagnation is going for the franchise.

I thought this was a joke post at first. Switch third-party support is pretty weak at the moment but 1) That argument is in no way related to the conversation you're reacting to, and 2) People aren't disagreeing with the idea that the support is poorer than it should be, or we wouldn't criticize Capcom, Bamco and Level-5 all the time. What are you trying to say that we aren't already discussing every week with specific examples and without a doom spin? What do you get out of baiting people with those comments? You're not arguing anything new, just creating a poorer version of that same argument.

Aostia makes a deliberately provocative post that exaggerates and calls out strawmen that do not exist, gets rightly called out, then cries "poor me" a few hours later.
