At that point why not just make a whole new IP like From did with Demon's to Dark Souls. There's absolutely nothing holding them to Bloodborne in particular, so I don't see why fans are so dead set on it.There is plenty that could be done with a sequel (or even prequel) to the story. Hell it could take place in an entire new location with a whole new story. Its so strange that people keep assuming that a sequel couldn't be original in quality.
And thats not even considering how much more can be done with the mechanics of the game either. There are vast amounts of potential in this universe; a universe that is still incredibly unique to that of all other games right now. The gothic victorian era is woefully under utilized.
And dammit now I want to go play BB.
without From?
just don't
I did my hardest to not post this myself lol.
1st post in nailed it, we're done here boys and girls..

How does Level 5 understand the core of Bloodborne's gameplay?
....I wouldn't mind a Bloodborne 2 designed by Johnathan Blow that is more about walking around and contemplating.

Capcom's not a half bad idea. Not just for their experience with action gameplay; they also have a lot of experience with the horror aesthetic in the Resident Evil games. I sure as hell wouldn't take them over From, but in the event that From's not available, Capcom seems like a reasonable choice alongside Team Ninja.Capcom
They have budget, they have Monster Hunter and DMC teams for combat expertise and finally they have resident evil team for atmosphere and horror experience.
The game won't be the same, sure, it might still be fun though.
Yes! This image just made my day. I want a wallpaper of this.Hell yeah.

Stupid question gets stupid answer
Because From would own the IP and be able to make and distribute it whenever and however they like. Like with Dark Souls. And if you're going to deviate as far as you're suggesting, why continue to even hold on to the Bloodborne IP, especially when it isn't yours in the first place.I mean sure but thats essentially demon souls 2 without the name demon souls as both play almost identically and pretty much got a name change due to not hvaing the license to demon souls. At that point why even bother calling it something different when it would be a successor? And there is nothing holding them to BB, except a lot of money. And fans want it because theres a ton more they can do with that universe-both in terms of gameplay and story/lore. I don't see why fans are so against it.
Y'all remember when Demon Souls 2 came out? 👀There's no need for the If in the title.

I'd be okay with another studio making Bloodborne 2 if it was the studio that Hidetaka Miyazaki formed after he was forced out of From Software alongside all the key members from the Souls series.

Miyazaki's currently the President of From, so...I'd be okay with another studio making Bloodborne 2 if it was the studio that Hidetaka Miyazaki formed after he was forced out of From Software alongside all the key members from the Souls series.
The aesthetics alone of Bloodborne makes me thirsty for another game with that atmosphere.
Probably gonna sound pretentious here, but From is the master of aesthetics and atmosphere in this kind of game.
Other Soulslikes can put a fresh spin on the combat, death/rebirth mechanics, progression, etc. but imo no one can hold a candle to their world building and storytelling through environment and mood alone.
It sounds like you value that pretty highly, and if another studio was to take the themes of Bloodborne and run with them, it would probably end up a ham-fisted, tasteless mess.
This is pretty much why I can't get into any of the souls like games tbh outside of Nioh. There's something really really special about From's work when they're firing on all cylinders and why I'm so excited to see them continue to evolve and work on new things, especially with the the production values and ideas they had in the Ringed City with the angels, falling off the cliff into the cathedral, environment changing around you and the incredible end boss.Probably gonna sound pretentious here, but From is the master of aesthetics and atmosphere in this kind of game.

May as well get the Lords of the Fallen dev to do it.
The Surge was a pretty damned good Bloodbornesque game.
I would feel pretty comfortable handing them the reigns.
Team Ninja.
After all, they did Nioh.
Naughty Dog. I bet it would be even better than anything From could ever make and I say that as someone who has extreme respect for From.
I just trust Naughty Dog to handle anything at this point.
