PlayerUnknown: Xbox Is Synonymous with Gaming, PUBG To Run at 60FPS on Xbox One X

Definitely on Xbox One X, 60FPS. On Xbox One, we're not sure. We may have to limit it at 30FPS, maybe, but the last time I saw it, it was running at about 30 to 40. We're still constantly improving it so, you know, the aim is to get to 60. That's why we're doing Game Preview, because I think the great thing about console is it's a locked hardware system, so we can do really specific tweaks that tune it for those systems.

If they can get it running at least close to 60fps would be nice. I know frames fluctuate even on PC. Seem like they are choosing frames over resolution which is not a bad thing. They also stated that 4K textures will take time to create there is currently no 4K texture made for the game.

This is good. Plus, a fixed spec machine would mean it'll be very interesting to see what kind of graphical quality will be on display for both systems.

As for base system, that's expected. As long as it's stable (on both platforms) it shouldn't be impede the experience.

Great as it's onot one platform, but the pc version is not so hot on massive PCs so I would think MS are putting money and manpower into this.
Mind you no mention of resolution.

Out of all of that I took this line as being the well we tried but the older hardware couldnt hold up type of statement

We may have to limit it at 30FPS, maybe

What? That comment is for the OG Xbox One where it runs 30-40fps. The Xbox One X is already running at 60fps

Now what gave you that idea?

People were moaning about the Pros slight FPS advantage over the base PS4 (average of like 8-12fps iirc) in BF1 and yet they are possibly going to let the one X have a 30 frame advantage? Cool

Wouldn’t 60 FPS players have an advantage over 30 FPS players in online matches?

Yes, but there’s a long list of advantages already, such as people using Elite/Scuf controllers. Not to mention XIM4 users.

Then throw in the people playing on low latency displays, better internet/ping and a decent headset.

It's pretty much guaranteed that it won't run at 60fps on the Xbox One & S and I'd be somewhat surprised if it can manage stable 60fps on the X.

Xbox is synonymous with gaming, you know what I mean? And there’s a huge player base out there that prefer to play on console, so bringing it to the Xbox One systems is just great.
Jeez, did they put a gun to your head to get you to say that?

It's not as simple as that. You have to factor in engine, scale, and optimization. PUBG is a CPU intensive game, so the skepticism is warranted.

What does the consumer care about all this? I know cod looks better and it runs like butter, talking about how porting the tech is gonna cause trouble is obvious but doesn't matter to anyone but the engineers making it happen. I loathe this line of discussion.

And to clarify, I know you're explaining away the skepticism but really I don't think any of that stuff is any excuse for running poorly especially in a game for which performance is definitely the primary concern.

Jeez, did they put a gun to your head to get you to say that?

Lol yea right?

Umm ok?

Regardless of whether or not the consumer cares about the technical aspects, they're still facts. It's not so black and white.

"We’re still constantly improving it so, you know, the aim is to get to 60."

This hardly seems like a guarantee lol

That's regarding the regular XB1 version, not the X.
