Im guessing this will be a small partnership thing. Kinda like Banjo in Sonic Transformers or maybe sonic rush coming to console via xbox or some shit.

(secretly hoping for sonic generations and unleashed being announced for BC)
Pso2 on xbone
I think you mean Phantasy Star Universe 2.

Best. 360 demo. Ever.

A barrage of Sega exclusives heading in Xbox's direction – just like the OG Xbox days!
Reality: it will be nothing of significance.

If it's a buyout, what good is it going to do to MS? Sega hasn't made a game that a lot of people would care enough to buy. Sega's pride and joy, sonic forces was poorly done and received. They have yakuza, which is of acquired taste, and most of their past games that I adore have not seen a good sequel these past 2 gens, and I don't trust MS making it work either. Maybe they are working on some deal, or sega reps are just visiting. I highly doubt they are going to buy sega.

Would be cool if there was some Xbox partnership/rebranding in Japan with Sega in an attempt to increase sales in that territory.

Interesting, even if Sega isn't really the same since arcade died, they still have interesting stuff. I very much doubt it's a buyout though, it's the only situation where they would be entirely quiet until things are done and officialized.

That can only mean jet set radio extreme, outrun 3, GunValkyrie 2, pso2 and Panzer Dragoon something.

Could mean quite a few things. The fact they decided to plop it on Twitter must hold some significance? I'm going to keep watch with interest.

Yeah MS is buying SEGA so they can release exclusive Yakuza games on a console which is marketed as a Blu-ray player and not a video game console in their home country......

Yes because Yakuza is the only thing about sega that makes it a worthwhile buy out... Their arcades in Japan would bring in way more money but no idea what interest that would be to Microsoft, swear everyone of the machines I touched over their was rigged anyway.

Would love for Microsoft to bring Dreamcast backwards compatibility to the xbox. DO IT. DO ITTTTTTTTTTTT.

That's my point. Buying a company that is heavily focused on the Japanese market and where it's native audience views Xbox as pretty much non existent would be very strange. It would make total sense for Xbox to partner with SEGA to bring some cool titles to the west though which is probably what is happening.

Well, Sega did just announce Shining Resonance or whatever for X1 as well as other platforms. Bucking the trend of jrpgs skipping x1.

However Sega is making shenmue 3 for PS4.

I doubt Sega is doing anything that precludes them from the PS platform.

Sega isn't really doing Shenmue3 for PS4, they're only allowing Yu Suzuki to do it with his own resources.

I mean it has to be with their blessing because they are coinciding shenmue 1 and 2 releases for ps4 only around when it comes out.

I was thinking this, but I don't think the discs could be read...

On the current xbox anyway...DUN DUN DUN
Most of the BC is not really done by the discs. It is done via emulation. That is why even when you have a disc you have to download the game still. The disc is actually worthless in the process. It is just used to verify your license for it because you didn't buy it online.

DC emulation could easily be done. In fact, all of Sega's past titles from gebesis to DC could be done easily. But, you have to remember Sega itself does not own all the games. A lot of companies that made them could even be bankrupt by this point or not willing to make them bc.

I would love to see achievements added to Xbox original games and if they added Sega bc to add achievements to those. I would definitely love to 100% some shining force.

Now that I think of it, I feel that this will just be some kind of Gamepass related meeting /deal. That said I hope that it's something more exciting and relevant to me. I'm a huge fan of SEGA so a new exclusive game deal similar to what they had with the OG Xbox would be fantastic.

Dreamcast 2!!!!!

I need some captions to this photo. Did this really happen?

Yes. About this Image, Gamefaq 2014 user Modrock

"There was no real "beef". Itagaki was pissed when someone from the Tekken team said some choice words on a radio show about either DOA1 or DOA2 (can't remember which was indicated in the interview).

Years later, Itagaki and Harada both sat down for a famitsu interview and admitted that they kept the "feud" going because it was good publicity & it kept them motivated as rivals. They had this pic of Itagaki and Harada sitting down and drinking beer together. Together. The kicker is that they had a follow up article where they indicated that Itagaki actually has a lot of respect for Harada..."

I am verrrrrry interested to see what is going on here. I have been having a blast with my 1X and deeply approve of what MS has been doing and saying for the Xbox platform (which includes PC now).

RocketKnight adventures. New one for xbox. Also would love to see some sort of sega arcade collection. So many good sega arcade games.

Funny that when you translate the first tweet that's in Japanese it says "Don't!"
