Both.Haven't been following the game but saw a demo reel in a gamestore. Is it a great game or are the graphics selling the game?
It is probably the best superhero game available. So yes it is really really good.Haven't been following the game but saw a demo reel in a gamestore. Is it a great game or are the graphics selling the game?
Without the first party budget and marketing, I doubt that it would have done any better or worse than the Spiderman games from Activision.i wonder how it would have done multiplatform
Congrats! So does this mean no ratchet and clank for a while?

It would be criminal for them to scale down to Ratchet and Clank after this.Congrats! So does this mean no ratchet and clank for a while?
That's just 3 days only. Imagine after a month, or a year.
This game is great and really have fun playing it.
I'm not betting on this unfortunately. They are nor first party nor owners of the license...I would love them to grow and do some more Ratchet and Sunset Overdrive but I'm betting on them to focus on the next Spidey...Maybe studio growth and two teams now?
This is going to be the hugest game on PS4. Spiderman is everywhere. Bingo for Sony!
Beat God of War (that was also released on Friday) by about 200k units. So (especially given the mass-market appeal of Spider-Man) it may very well end up selling much better.Any comparisons to other 1st party titles or bigger releases? It's obviously huge.

To be fair, Sunset Overdrive was a new IP, compared to a game featuring one of the most popular superheroes out there, and Overdrive came out less than a year after the Xbox One was released, while Spider-Man's potential audience was ~80 million.I bet Xbox players wish they had supported Sunset Overdrive this well. Now it looks like Insomniac will become synonymous with PlayStation again.

I vaguely remember rumors about a Sony acquisition from back then. I wonder if there is a high chance this could happen now.

I'm interested as to how they think this is first party? ...
This ia a 3rd party game yeah?
I get that it's published by sony... but by that logic Bayonetta is first party nintendo, and Street fighter 5 is 1st party to sony... Did sony buy Insomniac overnight?
