Zoe Quinn #meToo / Alec Holowka suicide -- Update: Article questions ZQ's account of events (link in OP)

As someone who has been through abuse and victimization, it's never really that cut and dry. A lot of times people who are being abused/victimized are involved with very manipulative people who convince them to stay. The mind games abusers play is often times unfathomable to people who haven't been in a relatable scenario.
...and my advice for anyone who has left it so long that they cannot prove it is...let it go. If you can't prove your allegations, which may well ruin the accusee's life and may or may not be true, they might as well be...

Let me get this straight: so Infinite Fall cut ties with (fired) Holowka in response to a tweet someone made about him alleging sexual assault with no evidence whatsoever? I'm unfamiliar with Canadian civil law but couldn't that be legally actionable? To be fired in response to a tweet from a third party without evidence would put some sort of burden of proof on the employer, right? Could Holowka--or now his estate--go after Infinite Fall now? Afterall, it could be argued that since they had an extensive working history with the guy they could reasonably know of his mental health status and suicidal ideations before terminating him over an unsubstantiated claim.

In a Psychology Today article, Dr. Pamela B. Paresky calls cancel culture, “apocalyptic,” saying, “an apocalyptic culture is not interested in wounded hearts. It wants to destroy, not heal. It wants retribution for moral impurities, not forgiveness for kids. And it uses the new tools of social media to accomplish its apocalyptic goals.” She points out that the impact of cancel culture is a fervent focus on shame and blame rather than a path for reconciliation and forgiveness.

Nah, she's just waiting for this to blow over and gonna come back 'stronger than ever' with some statement along the lines of 'I will not apologize for blasting this dude on Twitter or the way things have turned out," etc. etc.
There's also the part where if it can be proven that she might have had a role in pushing him to suicide, she has a fair amount of liability in a potential lawsuit.

She's not 'intelligent' in the classical way, but she's 'smart' enough to at least attempt to lay low until all this blows over.

I can understand that.
I'm more directing it towards people who go to twitter before the police. I can absolutely get being manipulated into believing your the guilty party. What I don't get it the need to post something so personal on social media and not taking it to the justice system to make sure the person doesn't effect someone else.

While i dont really want to put the blame of his death on her (since i cant know what really happened, but we know 100% its a suicide right?) she probably had play a big part on this, as many other people who "believed" her. He maybe indeed be an abuser, thats why people leave these to police and the court, regular people cannot and should NOT be like the Judge Dread acting like they can pass a sentence on someones beliefs. There is a reason we have these things, its because people will always choose their own they cannot judge.
Based on what Holowka's sister said on Twitter, he had been spending years in therapy trying to correct his behavior, so it seems like Zoe's account is factual, but on the other side of the coin, Holowka seems to have been actively trying to get help for years. Zoe publicized her story in response to someone accusing Jeremy Soule of misconduct; the two situations, both unfortunate, but having absolutely no relation to one another.

Compare the way resetera reacts when one of their own has suicidal thoughts. I wont link to any of those topics because I'm not a cunt. But they are oh so supportive and understanding when it's one of their own members. Hypocrites.

If the allegations are real, and we’re just seeing a victim publicize an abuser to face their own past, and help others, this is just tragic all around. A broken person who finally had things figured out, only to have the past catch up with him.

If the allegations are real, but she brought this up on the fifth anniversary of GG, to cause some controversy, she is an epic piece of shit. She owns that victim experience, and can do as she likes with it, however.

If the allegations are false, she needs to be tried in court for manslaughter. Same thing would happen if you started a fight, and accidentally beat a person to death — the malicious, unprovoked intent to hurt a person, regardless of the consequences, is exactly the same here.

If it is the third, and she sees no punishment, I’m going to be close to advocating things I never thought I would advocate. Towards Zoe, ResetEra members, and leftists that condone this.

Even if the allegations are true, she should be tried for manslaughter anyway for approaching this situation in a way that she knew full well would create an angry mob; particularly since she was aware this guy was in a fragile mental state.

I found out that the person who made that thread that was deleted was @Jordie as original OP if I'm not wrong. And to him, if he's still here, props to him

Managed to make a screencap of his post before it got deleted.

Mr Metokur will be having a stream on the subject. He should dust off the old Internet Aristocrat avatar for the occasion.

This guy is desperately trying to get people to mass flag his videos to stop him.

Thank God I archived his channels and a few of his mirrors and fan channels.

The allegations appear to be true, in that other women have come forth corroborating Alec's erratic behavior during the early-mid '10s. That is, before Zoe decided to nuke her twitter account and all its message history.
It's the worst case scenario, number 1. The allegations are real, but Alec was doing some attempts (real or token) at correcting his faults.

Based on what Alec's sister had Tweeted, I'm going to assume that Zoe's accusations are true, but let's take a look at the series of events.

- Zoe Quinn becomes involved in a relationship with Alec Holowka; Alec becomes emotionally, verbally and sexually abusive.
- Zoe and Alec break up and go their separate ways.
- Alec spends multiple years in therapy and counseling, presumably to better himself and correct his behavior.
- 2017: Alec develops A Night In The Woods and becomes famous for his work
- 2019 Nathalie Lawhead accuses composer Jeremy Soule of misconduct
- On the 5th anniversary of the Gamergate scandal, Zoe Tweets her own account of being in an abusive relationship with Alec Holowkian
- Alec Holowkian's sister announces his death, states he was actively involved in therapy and counseling
- Zoe deletes her Twitter

I can understand wanting to expose someone for being an abuser and a victimizer, but based on what Alec's Sister Tweeted, he seemed to have been aware of his previous behavior, sought therapy for it, and out of nowhere, with a completely unrelated instance of someone accusing someone of misconduct....on the fifth anniversary of a scandal attributed to her, Zoe dug up all the details of Alec's abuse.

With respect to this very emotional day, and your feelings on the matter (you are a good person, standing up for what’s right), I disagree.

Although nobody should believe it without evidence, whipping up an angry mob to a person who raped, abused, and forcibly violated you, is... fair. It would be his own actions coming back to haunt him.

Hopefully Zoe faces consequences here. She should have brought her issues up with the authorities instead of going forward with the public shaming route.

wonder if she deleted her twitter because her DMs and posts could be used against her in a civil case regarding his death. Hopefully the family is speaking to their attorney to preserve as much evidence as possible.

Legally speaking, though, it's not ok. The laws around manslaughter were written before social media fucked everything up, so who the fuck knows, but outside of the interwebz, what she did would amount to involuntary manslaughter; regardless of whether the allegations against Alec were true.

TBH, outside of criminal convictions, there is no reason for any employer to release an employee for activities outside of the purview of their job. PR is mostly hokum - boycotts almost never work, and most people just want to buy things they want or need.

Hmmm..... Looks like Metokur is doing a youtube stream about this later. So we got Quinn back with a vengeance, Jim ready to rip into her again.Looks like the makings of finally getting GaymerGate update 9.0356436 out to the masses!

The truly upsetting thing here isn't that someone made allegations; it's that a mob assembled and without any knowledge, certainty or insight tried to push a man out of gaming and out of society ... and pushed him off a damn cliff.

Nothing about that speaks of justice, empathy or understanding.

Don't make this about one person. There is a sickness that moves in waves across social media.

Zoe Quinn is a disgusting, narcissistic pile of trash. Here’s hoping her life takes a turn for the absolute worse in the aftermath of this.
My mom always thought me to not waste energy on bad people.
They will eventually get what is coming to them .
And boy was she right.

He's probably going to get banned for this because someone thought mocking Kangz wuz raciss n shiet and flagged two of his videos.

He is posting all of his Metokur content to Bitchute, so look for him there if it goes down. I have a feeling he is going to go hard in, and this may be the start of another Gamergate (and we did not even have to get Trump to tweet about it!).

But what happens when those bad people falsely accuse you of, say, being a pedo, and all their media accomplices make it to where you can never get a job again?

Idk but fuck them. I got banned for a week for telling ppl thy shouldn't affirm or deny guilt, they should just wait for more evidence. The ban said I was dismissing rape allegations. Bunch of hivemind, pussies over there. Sick, mental, tryhard, wannabes over there.
That's par for the course. The accuser is always telling the truth even when they're not. The court of public opinion is a fucking awful thing that assumes guilt and ruins lives. Thankfully reading through the thread it seems like atleast a handful of eratards are beginning to work this out. Maybe there's hope for them yet...maybe...

Wasn't Bitchute that banned him for like a day or two a few weeks ago, or was that D-live? These alt-tech websites blend together after awhile. Either way, I'm anxiously waiting to see what he says.

Fuck restera and fuck whoever said that

They are fucking idiots. "Suicide threats", not actual fucking suicide, are what abusers use. Suicide threats are the tool of narcissists and psychopaths because they believe the world revolves around them, but both groups are too stuck on themselves to ever actually do it.

The fact that he killed himself is what really cleared him to me. I didn't believe Zoe before, but now I absolutely think she lied.

They will get what they deserve eventually.
Really don't stress about it.

It was DLive, and he is being kind of a dumbass about it. It was clearly a mistake on their part that was fixed in an hour, but he is so bound up in "The Internet Is Over" that he thinks it was some sort of psy-op so that they can ban him again later.
