First game was fun but also pretty bad. It would be nice if they could pull off something good this time around but they also can't be charging AAA prices for this kind of thing. Nintendo puts in the effort to blend them together. Sony is too afraid to make Nathan Drake or Kratos more cartoonish in appearance incase the fans rage. If Sony made an art style for them all to come together rather than clash then they would be fine.

I'd love a PSABR2. I actually liked the first game more than Smash, though it had a lot of flaws and problems in terms of production quality. I would be disappointed if it moved towards a Dissidia-like system.

It's called Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, so I'm baffled that Sony hasn't made a mascot battle royale game with a lot of players being dropped on a 3D map.

I always said that the first game should have been a 3D fighting game (something similar to Anarchy reigns for example) instead of that cheap-ass Smash clone (Smash is casual garbage anyway). If done well this does have the potential to turn out good but only if Sony actually gives it the time and budget a project like this needs both for the development itself and also to acquire the rights for 3rd party characters that are synonymous with the Playstation brand.
Also they have much more interesting 1st party characters than the ones appearing in that lame box cover.

IF they gave the project to a developer like Platinum Games and get the rights for all the iconic 3rd party characters who are synonymous with the brand then it could turn out great.

Yeah, the problem for Sony is its emphasis on creating “cinematic experiences” has resulted in an exclusive character lineup that features a lot of characters who resemble characters from grown-up TV shows.
Trying to make those type of characters work in a fighting game with a colourful, non-serious aesthetic and tone isn't gonna go well.

nintendo has limited appeal. I mean, how many of their characters do we know their gender identity or type of genitalia or preferred pronouns? How many have grounded, deep, and real stories? I really didn't think the first game was awful, it was just SO lack luster. It was bizarre, like they put an idea together and threw it out to the public. But didn't question replayability and longevity whatsoever.
