The reason why they are all depressed, lonely, and angry is because most of them are poor ass basement dwellers with no ambition to try and move out of their parents' house. They work shitty paying dead end jobs. And because opportunity isn't just handed to them, they feel like "the system" is oppressing them and someone else is to blame.
I always think those kind of bans are quite funny.
If there were, say, 3 people associated with Gamergate that had been charged with being cruel to animals then for sure you'd be good to go on ResetEra with the narrative that GG abuses animals etc. Same deal if there is a mass shooter who mentions being an Incel. Incels are terrorists etc etc.
A particular nation is well known for it's disgraceful treatment of animals and total disregard for animal welfare on a massively wide scale but you can't mention that on the forum.
I wonder if you responded "shut up, China has a great reputation when it comes to animal welfare" would you get a ban for dismissing concerns about animal cruelty or would you get a ban for sarcastically perpetuating stereotypes.
It would be the same for something like "Islam is right about women". Is it a ban for sincerely promoting misogyny or is it a ban for sarcastically promoting islamophobia?

Its because somehow they have convinced themselves that Iran is "brown" and thus oppressed, and of course all muslims are oppressed as well.
In reality Iran is considered Aryan, and Muslims are 1 billion + people with 50+ countries. But that doesn't matter and Iran is on the top of the oppression hierarchy and thus can get away with anything.
Also I am pretty sure that ERA is made up of basically Iranians, Trans, Gays, and Blacks (and whites pretending to be black).

To say he "knew exactly what he was doing" is something else entirely. Did you ever watch the full video releases that came out or read news pieces later on that clarified what happened? Early news pieces were based on faulty 2nd hand information and purposely shortened videos they had seen. These news pieces, while likely not purposefully malicious, were still wrong and gave an incorrect statement of events. The news companies biggest mistake was latching onto a story as soon as possible without verifiable information.
