PC is still king.

As usual ahead of GDC, the organizers have conducted a survey among game developers. The report just came in, and it's very interesting to look at. For instance, it seems like among consoles interest for the upcoming PlayStation 5 is higher than Xbox Series X (38% vs 25%), and the PS5 even manages to narrowly beat the Nintendo Switch (37%)

The latest GDC survey suggests game developers are far more interested in Sony's PlayStation 5 than Xbox Series X (38% vs 25%).

Even beat mobile. I remember when mobile was at the top over PS4 and Xbox one. It's good to see that the Switch has bit into that share. People say that the Switch will do shit when PS5 and Series X drop but I feel Nintendo will do just find since they've created there own lane with switch. The PS4 was built making wiser choices. It may not be as complex as the PS3, but thats definitely for the better. But the PS3 was definitely more Interesting.

I'm sure there was some custom silicon in the PS4. PS3 was just too complex for developers. He's a genius because he started at 19 and has developed games and designed consoles

I won’t drag up ancient history with the ps3 but the cell processor was fucking amazing from a hardware perspective I totally geeked out reading up on it. I’ve always wondered what the ps3 could have done if they shipped it with 2x cells like they originally planned to do.

They are thinking in what is the safest bet, its obvious everyone will have a better chance of having their money back with Ps5

Switch is a cash machine for 3rd party developers since they can take years old games not selling that much on older systems, triple the price and dump it on the switch for some instant cash. There is a reason the vast majority of all switch games, even first party ones, are just re releases of old games and very little actually new.

Meanwhile xbox is not really anything. It's just "an option for cross platform new games" since it has shit for actual good exclusives and the few it has are mostly on pc.

Stadia is ahead of Mac (which is still way head of Linux). That's kind of sad.

PS5 and Switch are about even. PC is still king.
