Nice you guys admit that you share most of your stuff with the mods but dont care to share with us.
To me vetted or not means absolutely nothing if all you guys are tooting that you cant, wont give any further information.

Those specs leaks are a typo or wrong 48 GB of RAM - with 2GB chips that 24x32bit = 768 bit bus width even with the lowest speed 14Gbps GDDR6 that's over 1000GB/s bandwidth

Agreed. That 4TB NVME, that's not going to be good for the BOM. I expect 1TB with upgrades available (either as addon storage modules or higher priced skus).

However, if you don't want to scrap for every little spec of info and just wait for the reveal, why are you in this thread? A thread which is all about the very thing you claim that annoys you?

Yes, insiders and 'insiders' can claim whatever they like, but if you stick around these parts, you can filter it out, and realize which of them are fanboys promoting their own agenda (VFX Veteran), which of them are time wasters and attention whores (Tommy Fischer), which of them are cockteasers (OsirisBlack) and which of them actually know what they're talking about (Heisenberg).

A proven insider who tells me that Series X and PS5 are close in power is enough for me to know the next generation won't have third-party games suffer. I don't care which studios MS and Sony are going to buy because I plan on getting both consoles (hell, I might even buy a switch). If Osiris' four-yellow-eyed insect monster game never gets released I am more than happy not to give a fuck because I won't even know what I'll be missing, given the vague description of the IP.

All in all, I am passing the time when I take a break from work or gaming and exchange words with fellow gamers. Even if it is about silly riddles and dates.

Don't get salty because of stupid things like trolls lying about the date of the PS5's reveal or telling us it's coming soon, mate. It's coming near Christmas, and that's all that really matters concerning that topic.

And frankly, there's lots more serious stuff happening in this world and your life which are worthy of your temper.

For me 9tf for ps5 would make sense if they are aiming at the 399 price point.
Or they screwed up the priorities and the ssd alone (which loads a game in 1 second rather than 3) makes up for a third of the costs.

Or MS just wants to dominate in the performance are at all costs because of the disaster of the last generation (resolution, framerate, etc.);
They could lower the price of the xbox one x and sell the new one at a hefty premium.

Well if you zoom in on the text on the pc at the beginning it’s the pS4 code according to a dev and not ps5. So for sure it’s fake . Unless ps5 uses the same code name as ps4(orbis)

It doesn't need to have the same codename. Maybe Sony just didn't see the need to completely overhaul the os and kept the one used for ps4. Why would they it works fairly well.

I will clear up this misquote one last time. I stated that HZD on PC *could* (ALWAYS used that word which is ignored) look better than HZ2 on PS5. I even gave the specific reasons for this reasoning.

1) HZD most likely has assets that weren't able to be run on a console, so we've never seen them.
2) HZD2 will use the same graphics engine but have *different* assets according to the game's directors. A sequel doesn't mean it's going to be a LEAP in fidelity simply because it's #2 unless they change the entire graphics engine. My statement was assuming using the same graphics tech where only the assets have changed.
3) People STILL don't believe that a better iteration of a 1st party game is out there and so they assume nothing extra has being made. Sometimes that's true, but not always.
4) IF the performance of next-gen consoles is at a peak of 1080Ti performance, that is not enough to warrant a leap in fidelity over a PC version of any game. Period. You guys somehow believe that a closed system with 1080Ti performance will max out ALL 3d graphics features on a game @4k/60FPS. Definitely not true.
5) All platforms are bandwidth limited in games and the plaform that has the largest bandwidth will be strong enough to run ALL the features a game developer has for a game. The PS5/XSX aren't going to be the strongest platform to run a game with 100% fidelity that the studio produced -- a high end PC will be.

Call it PC master race, call it being "critical" of consoles, whatever. Those are the facts and I speak them whether people like the results or not. I suspect well into the next-gen when people look at the DF videos of 1st party and 3rd party comparisons, the acceptance will sink in.

Volume is a way to solve the heating equation, but look at OG Xbox One vs PS4 and PS4 Pro to Xbox One X: you have lower volume/smaller box AND still a faster HW/higher performance.

I’m not entirely sure the heating equation is relevant on this subject.

Console chassis volume heavily influences the balance between volumetric air flow versus pressure drop throughout the flow path (which in turn influences fan power but more importantly the console’s acoustic performance).

Air velocity over the fins of the heat sink very strongly influence the rate of heat transfer from the heat sink into the flowing air HT medium. For a fixed volumetric air flow, thus fan speed, a smaller chassis will increase air velocity and thus heat transfer. This, however, needs to balanced against the higher pressure drop of a smaller chassis that increases fan power and worsens accoustic performance.

The Xbox Series X was able to be smaller but utilising the vapour chamber heat sink design, with a much higher overall heat flux due to the ability to dissipate heat in 3-dimensions. Overall, with a well designed vapour chamber, you are reducing the thermal resistances between the processor and heat sink, thus increasing the rate of heat transfer away from the chip allowing it to run at a lower temperature. This is really the main thermal bottleneck in console system design, because heat transfer by convection in air is always going to be better than conduction through solid metal. It means you can dissipate more heat for a lower air flow, thus allowing for a smaller form factor.

I kind of agree with some of your points there. Xbone, PS4, Xbone X, PS4Pro, we had pretty solid specs before its release. This time we dont. Everything is up in the air. Some say Xlauncher is more powerful the other say PS5, yet they are both within the same abstract vicinity of zen 2, SSD, RDNA blah blah. Too much fuckery this time. Probably because of click baits and money making with these youtube channels and websites. And then on top of that we get this constant beating of a dead horse of how PC is always going to be better. I am not sure why its even infused into this discussion thread. Its like creating a thread on [insert cross gen third party game] and seeing which one is better between consoles, and then someone comes in and just shits on the entire thread saying PC is always is going to be better you guys dont accept reality. As I stated in my previous discussion, if you can get a PC-Desktop with a console like form factor and simple UI within the same price range-or fuck even $100-$200 more expensive that targets my living room and can give superior results ill gladly skip the next gen or even current gen and not waist my time. I dont think there is anything out there, and if there is, it would be eating away at consoles from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo.

Its one thing that there are leaks that are pretty close to official and having a hard time coming to terms with your choice of console being inferior/superior to another, but its a whole other thing with the fuckery going on before the launch of Xlauncher and PS5. At this point in time there is too much back and forth going, and for me personally just take a break and watch this thread from a distance and discuss whatever is going to be official from Sony.

He is all over the place. What he said most recently is Xbox is more powerful, but wouldn't be surprised if PS5 ended up being more powerful, and he doesn't know wether Series X is 12 TF RDNA or GCN equivalent.

I honestly believe it is 12 in Navi but damn that Phil Spencer and his do the math its 2x more powerful statement bugs the crap out of me.

Unless he honestly thinks its hard for us to realize 12 actually is 2 X 6.

This is kinda past my point but i appreciate your reply.

As for the proven insider....they just repeat the same information over and over with nothing new added to it for weeks but shared information with higher ups.

I stand by my guess that the PS5 reveal / state of play / whatever will be at the 27th of February (Thursday). That's the date Larian Studios said they'll give new info (and probably the first gameplay reveal) for Baldur's Gate 3, and I'm sticking to my theory. They intend to reveal Baldur's Gate 3 as a PS5-also title, and give us the first gameplay on Sony's console.

Look I hate to defend insiders yes I post their leaks but that doesn't mean I believe them or the crap they said .. most of them not all

But I have to stop you there , good old days of gaming didn't change but people changed , all of these posts are engaged in the joy of gaming asking questions predicting what's coming and arguing about games and consoles this shit is from day one but now the internet brings it up to you .. you are not in the 70s or 80s or 90s this is the future .. you can make your words fly without wings just a simple click and it's on..

Take everything said here with a grain of salt. There is a difference between having someone like Jason Schreier saying something - he is a reporter that has a huge track record of leaking stuff - or someone else in this forum saying A, B or C even if they've been "verified" or "Vetted" by mods, independently of working in the industry or not.

While I do believe that HeisenbergFX4 might have heard something, I also don't know what info he has or where it's coming from. So I'm not taking it for granted.

What happens is very simple. All insiders, both here and at ERA have used puzzles and sometimes confusing phrases when reporting. There have been some numbers but rarely clearly and directly. This for a while works. The problem is that the wait is getting too long, there is very little official information and many rumors, and that ends up getting tired to everyone. This is not a criticism of any insider. It is simply that the wait is getting too long and for my part for example without real data I recognize that every day that passes I lose interest. I will recover it as soon as something is announced but for now that is my impression and I think it happens to all of us a little.

He doesn't know if Series X is 12 teraflops RDNA or GCN. Even if he knew PS5 specs he couldn't tell you the percentage difference. But reading other posts of his, he doesn't know PS5 specs either. So how can he give you a percentage difference between 2 consoles if he knows the specs of neither?

I remember when I finally got responded to about the develop on PC first then port down to console and people swore I was on crack and being a PC master race....only after continuous new feeds about ports have you guys finally accepted the truth..

Most everything I am hearing is double digits with XsX being slightly more powerful overall.

It'll be interesting to see how they price it. If it's only slightly more powerful than PS5 they can't price it $100 more.

Keep in mind, There are various other sources pointing to the opposite. And this all goes with various builds and various devkit setups sent to various developers. A lot of the reason to narrow down leakers and the like.

You won’t notice 10% or less TF in either direction. Especially if other factors come into play with these boxes now.

Look I hate to defend insiders yes I post their leaks but that doesn't mean I believe them or the crap they said .. most of them not all

But I have to stop you there , good old days of gaming didn't change but people changed , all of these posts are engaged in the joy of gaming asking questions predicting what's coming and arguing about games and consoles this shit is from day one but now the internet brings it up to you .. you are not in the 70s or 80s or 90s this is the future .. you can make your words fly without wings just a simple click and it's on..

Insiders they had only one free hand the other is tied behind their back , they can share info but some are useless some is big but they can't make it clear for you or they don't want it depends really on the situation.. you don't have to listen to them non of us have to , they could just be silence as the grave but they wanted people to be hyped for the next gen , I'm not defending anybody as I said you could take what he said or just leave and wait the official reveal...

Take everything said here with a grain of salt. There is a difference between having someone like Jason Schreier saying something - he is a reporter that has a huge track record of leaking stuff - or someone else in this forum saying A, B or C even if they've been "verified" or "Vetted" by mods, independently of working in the industry or not.

While I do believe that HeisenbergFX4 might have heard something, I also don't know what info he has or where it's coming from. So I'm not taking it for granted.
This is also valid to OsirisBlack , Tommy Fisher , S SCFC_ , Klee or any of the other guys that don't have a good track record or a track record at all..

They’re all in the same ballpark.
HeisenbergFX4 has backed OsirisBlack and OsirisBlack has backed Tommy Fisher with their respective specs.

I believe S SCFC_ is in the same area as well.
We also have Klee and Jason in the over 2080 range.

I will clear up this misquote one last time. I stated that HZD on PC *could* (ALWAYS used that word which is ignored) look better than HZ2 on PS5. I even gave the specific reasons for this reasoning.

1) HZD most likely has assets that weren't able to be run on a console, so we've never seen them.
2) HZD2 will use the same graphics engine but have *different* assets according to the game's directors. A sequel doesn't mean it's going to be a LEAP in fidelity simply because it's #2 unless they change the entire graphics engine. My statement was assuming using the same graphics tech where only the assets have changed.
3) People STILL don't believe that a better iteration of a 1st party game is out there and so they assume nothing extra has being made. Sometimes that's true, but not always.
4) IF the performance of next-gen consoles is at a peak of 1080Ti performance, that is not enough to warrant a leap in fidelity over a PC version of any game. Period. You guys somehow believe that a closed system with 1080Ti performance will max out ALL 3d graphics features on a game @4k/60FPS. Definitely not true.
5) All platforms are bandwidth limited in games and the plaform that has the largest bandwidth will be strong enough to run ALL the features a game developer has for a game. The PS5/XSX aren't going to be the strongest platform to run a game with 100% fidelity that the studio produced -- a high end PC will be.

Call it PC master race, call it being "critical" of consoles, whatever. Those are the facts and I speak them whether people like the results or not. I suspect well into the next-gen when people look at the DF videos of 1st party and 3rd party comparisons, the acceptance will sink in.

1- GTA5 example proves sometimes developers are indeed using higher quality assets on PC exactly like you are saying, but that's just the exception to the rule. For some reason the vast majority of console ports arnt much improved, simple shadows resolution and LOD tweaks doesn't change graphics fidelity drastically and the main difference is always higher resolution and better framerate. Yes, Horizon on PC will look and run better compared to PS4 version but it will be still PS4 game at it's core.

4- Games like Detroit or RDR2 proves it's not easy to max out the best looking console games on PC at 4K 60fps, because even 2080ti not always can do it, not to mention even slower 1080ti.

But I'm not expecting developers will waste GPU power just to run their games at 4K 60fps. More realistic scenario is something like 4K checkerboard or even 1800p, not to mention 30fps + VRS. With much faster drive (SDD will improve streaming speed drastically) and stronger CPU on top of that (many PS4 ports runs around 120 fps on ryzen 2 even with maxed out settings) developers will have plenty of hardware resources to use COMPARED to current gen consoles (and therefore we should expect big graphics fidelity increase compared to Xbox One and PS4).

project mara and hellblade 2 are running on xbox series x.

rebirth was running on a 1080ti.

yes, they are cutscenes but please go on and tell me how cutscenes in star wars jedi fallen order on pc look better than this.
