How would 10 TFlops for XSX be it when the SoC chip is a huge and the box looks like a PC tower? But hey It's like this is VFX Veteran's verdict on consoles being 9 and 10 TF, as he said "I believe", It's not like someone told him that.

I see both the PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X being 12 TFlops or maybe a bit higher as per comment from Kleegamefan & Jason Schreier.

We'll see, time will tell...

Right here. It is some of it. The dates can't be confirmed. The price can't be confirmed. They are both moving targets. But some of those games and the power is definitely confirmed. Whatever the numbers may end up being for testing performance, it's a big confirmed that PS5 < XSX in terms of raw power.

My sources just verified to me on the phone that everything this guy mentions is 100% true. And yea, the Xbox Series X is indeed more powerful than the PS5. Even the price he mentions is correct. So I would believe that PS5 = 9TFLOPS and XSX 10TFLOPS

Why are we using old Nvidia cards as reference to measure the GPU power? The Radeon 5700 non XT has less TF than the 1080 and it still manages to beat the living crap out of it in some benchmarks. If you're going to compare the consoles GPU's to a PC equivalent, at least compare them to Navi cards.

But why would you believe that it took “4 months to do the math”, when 6*2 is 12.

They spent 4 months crunching numbers and tests to find out that 2X the power is what they got. With 12, it would not only be more than 2X, but not need testing to do simple arithmetic.

Testing was done due to efficiency gains with RDNA and not direct 2X flop for flop measurement.

It’s just all PR ambiguity.

The 9TF and 10TF are only VFX's guesses based in his friend info...

I'm team Jason/Klee and I belive both consoles slighty over 12TF (and I don't know if BG's is part of this team too)

But I don't think Heisenberg and even VFX would lie to us.

Personally I belive in many Dev Kits with the Devs and they have different specs (one with 9/10 TF other with 12/13 TF). The greatest prove to this theory is that we don't have the FINAL DEV KIT, with specs similar to the Retail version.

launch lineup sounds lamer than ps4, as there isnt even a resogun or the promise of a Driveclub; and upcoming games more sony 3rd person story stuff which i find pretentious and dull.

$700 cdn for weaker console is not a day one without a must have game. Maybe if/when psvr2 launches...

The problem is anyone who has or claims to have info are always going to get some things wrong. I don't doubt they hear small bits of information but dev kits change, 2nd hand info can be slightly off.. the mistake people tend to make is announcing stuff to the internet because people would crucify someone if they get 10% of stuff wrong but the other 90% gets labeled as "easy to guess". If I had information I would never share the shit on the internet. In terms of foxy and tidux I wouldn't say it was unrealistic that if sony have the lesser GPU then they did all they can to make sure they have better SSD,RAM,Bwidth. I just don't get all the focus from people on Sony releasing PS5 info in Feb, they have a killer line up this year to talk about first.

I have no idea what to believe. The consoles are most likely going to be close.

It is a very fascinating thing to watch. People will automatically put stock into rumors that support their console of choice. Granted there are objective people, but you can spot the ones that always push their agenda. The funny part is watching them then accuse the other side of being a fanboy.

Unless you are paid by the Company for PR, they already have that job filled. Microsoft and Sony are for profit Companies and do not deserve loyalty like they bailed you out of jail.

There are two possibilities right now that I can determine. Either the consoles are in the 9-10 TF range, or they are in the 11-12 TF range. Apparently either one has a chance to have a slight advantage.

Too many conflicting insider rumors are present. Who knows like some have said, different developers could have different powered dev kits from both Parties.

Either way, fanboys from both sides are pushing their narratives very hard. The ensuing meltdowns will be Glorious.

Ideally, I'd like both consoles to at least be slightly above the level of the RX 5700 XT (so at least ~10TF RDNA 1.0), especially if they really want to push ray tracing. But ultimately, I just want them close enough in specs to be competitive.

I'm really impressed MS managed to make a literal mini PC tower to cool something like that. Navi must have really shit thermals. Same for the PSVacuum.

A SIE developer (like this guy is) does not sit on detailed specs of PS5, that would be an open invitation for massive amount of leaks. I'm actually surprised if any developer has this information as it's not needed for their job.
