Exactly, it's far more complicated and the next gen system hype on google search isn't 'playstation'and ' xbox' as it will include any search and then you get abbreviations like PS and XSX but regardless using the next gen consoles names you can see the spike from the stupid logo reveal shot up 'ps5' searches above 'xbox series x' .

MS gave up on the One.... While the Ps4 is still alive and kicking...
Sony is in no hurry with the PS5.... Or do you really think that Sony cares about Godfall?
Huh, could have sworn MS was supporting the One 1-2 years into next gen. Now it's a bad thing to reveal a console a year out. Ok.

That is what I was getting at, he was saying it like Sony for sure wanted to release it 2019, which there is no evidence to prove that, it is all rumors generated by us gamers. I am sure Sony had a plan to release in 2020 early on, they knew of AMD's roadmap way before we did so they knew what they wanted in the console and when it would be viable to market, I don't think 2019 was ever an option for them.

They do not want to cannibalize themselves because they still have a strong line up of games coming to PS4 like Dreams, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, The Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Predator: Hunting Grounds to name a few. If they start promoting PS5 now, it can decrease PS4 sales.

check OP's post history and the way he is defending xbox. this is not about wanting the PS5 or opinions about the delay, he was in the "Something feels off about Xbox Series X unveiling , a month later & it still don't feel like a next generation console was unveiled "and got put in his place there, which made him mad and angry and so he created this topic to get back at the people who attacked his beloved xbox.

Xbox one support it's basically a way to hide that series x doesn't have new games on release.
Also... Halo, Hellblade 2 and what else is supposedly coming to Xbox this year? Do I need to post the Ps4 releases of 2020?

yeah lets not do this. 1. it makes no sense to compare, 2. xbox will get destroyed if we do so 3. i really dont want a fanboy war going on here. Both consoles really offer value, otherwise they would not sell. we just need to make sure we dont feed all the trolls who want to start console war, we should be better than that.

Announcements generate media coverage and view counts regardless of the format or location where they are made.
Gamers don't care about E3 or any other event for the event, they care for the news and those can come from anywhere as far as gamers are concerned.
Sony can do their own conference any other time, MUCH MUCH cheaper and get the same media coverage as doing it at E3.
Conferences at Gaming events are no longer necessary for announcements, those events nowadays are good for gamers to try out games, meet, get swag, go to Q&As, etc.

Sony has revealed more at this time then when the PS4 launched. Of course, with Phil Spence making so much noise for the XSX, Sony had to respond. A lot was still kept closed to their chest, so we'll find out more in the next couple of months, with prices and specs possibly around E3 at Sony's own event.

People were saying you are not legit because you say PS5 is 13tf and XSX is 12tf because these specs are also possible. But for now 11.8 and 12.5 no information on full BC design and final DS5

The PS4 was revealed late February 2013, a couple of months before release, the PRO was revealed only about two months ahead of launch. So no rush, that strategy has worked for them so far.
Microsoft on the other hand are starving for attention - their games won't get it for them, not are their consoles are not breaking any sales record - they revealed the X about 18 months before it was revealed! So if these are your expectations, obviously you will be disappointed, these companies work very differently, and before you conclude that MS is just better at everything, keep in mind that not so long ago their only profitable products were Windows and Ms Office (I think you can add Azure and the hardware division now).
Heck, even when some people were casting doubt on their DRM strategy before the launch of the PS4 they waited pretty long to re-state in a way that could not be disproved the obvious (Shu said it in interviews before, but somehow people acted stupid and claimed it was not clear... because Sony only does what MS does)
No need to do this too long before, I don't think this is relevant, unless you are very insecure.
MS has showed up to tons of E3 and they had nothing (IMO) of value to show for it in about 10 years now! So I don't think this is that important to be at E3.
The press loves it because they can buy tickets, rent hotel rooms, etc. and have everyone in one place (Sony, MS, Nintendo, big publishers and some indies as well)... there are parties, etc. which is not a bad point.
However, I like a good presentation as much as the next guy, so I hope they have some proper event for the reveal.
I can't say I'm enthusiastic for that game either, they could have told me that footage was for a PS4 game I would have believed them.

It's like they have nothing to show for the moment, I stress "for the moment".
What they have shown so far (an obvious logo design and a 3rd party game) feels a bit "weak"

I have said this before and i will say it again:
Both MS and Sony are playing a cat and mouse game trying to bait each other in order to make the media force them to reveal their BIG cards first for the other to answer accordingly. IMO this is one of the main reasons why Sony is skipping E3 because they want to be as fluid as possible with their announcements this year. Same goes for MS.They are not going to unveil everything at E3 and let Sony have the final word. Only MS fanboys (and idiots) want Sony to rush and unveil everything about the PS5 before MS shows or says anything substantial hoping that MS will answer and come with the better market proposition. I'm only saying this because i've seen some MS fanboys who were hoping Sony to unveil everything about PS5 at CES.

Because they can simply afford to do it.

Received death threats for this but I was kind of right. They were scrambling to overclock their GPU. If you watched yesterday's reveal it feels like the hardware went through some last-minute changes so that they don't lose face.
