Maybe everyone’s kinda tired about talking about the same thing every day... this has been going on for a while now
Seems that way. It’s not showing up in the Twitter trending section which is why I made that comment. It’s like we’ve accepted the new normal.

Don’t look so close at the total. The daily growth rate was less than 8.5%. It was the second lowest rate of growth in months for the US. The growth rate of the past three days has been under 10%. Real progress is being made.

A 14 year old gotcha is kind of past it's sell by date. Those masks would have passed their use by date and even then I'm sure some parts of the ventilators would have perished. Where was all this gear being stored and who would have been paying for it "Just in case"?

I would think these things as still non perishable items and would have still been useful, but selling them off after a Crisis to have a new crisis 14 years later is fair game for a budget focused State or City. It was not a bad choice. I love the way media spins stories though, they could make a case it was a poor choice all they have to do is make people aware of the choice and feelings will decide.

I've witnessed it happening many times with products that are deemed non-perishable becoming unusable when put into long term storage and that "long term" was just a couple of years. Changes in temperature, humidity, dust or vermin damaging stored good that have come directly off a production line and sent to a warehouse becuse they are overstocks. For example, electronic products have capacitors that dry out or lose their charge if not used. On-board batteries that leak. Plus there potential natural disasters that can cause flooding etc.

(Edit: Fixed the wrong percentages people pointed out. Needed coffee :()

The US has certainly not yet reached its peak. That will not be until next week. Then the US would also be roughly in line with developments in many other European countries. The figures clearly show that especially on the West Coast the test capacities are responsible for this fake peak.

New York, New Jersey and Michigan (not on the West Coast) clearly show this. Even states like Illinois or Louisiana have very high positive rates. Unlike NY and NJ, however, they do not account for almost 50% of all reported cases in the country.

40.8% of all tests are positive in New York.

46.8% of all tests are positive in New Jersey.

37.7% of all tests are positive in Michigan

What a shock, it was not just socialized healthcare that caused all the deaths in Europe but an actual, serious outbreak of a deadly disease. I wonder what the '12k died from flu and no one batted an eye' crowd now thinks with 12k dead in a few weeks and more to come.

“Hey guys, come see what I’m doing at home during the lockdown!” Social media has become my new least favorite kinda social media. No one cares about what you’re cooking, what dances you’re coordinating with your kids or what chores you did in your backyard.

A few more headlines like this and people will be showing why gun shops are essential businesses.

Sure, he's going to start a shootout on... <checks image> 4 cops? You're deranged.

Fuck him for not respecting the lockdown. This shit only works if we all pitch in, no mercy for opportunistic smartasses.

Everyday brings out new information, unfortunately everything takes time to verify.
So far my simplified understanding is, rely on own immune system to fight the Virus for the first week, then "turn it off" somehow at the right time before it kills you.

Lovely thought of the day.

Uh, where are you getting those percentages from? Your own numbers don't come close to them.

50k out of 95k isn't 87%
They should still be testing more though

Yeah, I'm sorry. It was early in the morning. :messenger_grimmacing_ Thanks for pointing that out. I had accidentally not taken the total number of cases for the calculation, but the number of negative test results. Unfortunately, the correct numbers do not change the fact that the peak is most likely caused by too low test capacities.

What this demonstrates is that the Labour Party at large has humanity and integrity and does not align with the fringe lunatics calling for Boris to die. Unlike a casual browse of Reset Era would lead you to belive.

Holy fuckaloni, France with 1,417 new deaths and the US with 1,970, it might seem like everything is slowing down but it isnt, people are getting tired of just talking about it every single second. Those are all time highs, and surprisingly come after a few "good" days for both countries, as well as Spain got its numbers back up again.

I wonder if this is due to people being oversaturated staying at home.

France actual daily numbers were 597 deaths yesterday, the difference comes from the delayed report of deaths in nursing homes since March 1st, which completely mess up the analysis of the trend if you add them up on the day they're reported.

Oh, didnt know that thank you.

It kinda makes sense, although yeah, it fucks up any sense of trend we might have.
