What the hell are you on about you irresponsible fool? You’re part of the problem if you’re pretending this video doesn’t exist.

Did you actually read my post, or did you just instantly hit the reply button in a Boris related hate-fuelled rage? The video clip you posted was exactly the one I quoted in writing, so I'm flabbergasted that you seem to think that it is some kind of slam dunk for your argument. The fact-checking website themselves quoted it as evidence against this deranged "the evil Tories just want to let everyone take it on the chin and die" conspiracy theory.

Take a deep breath and read it again once you have calmed down a bit. Pay particular attention to the bolded parts. Don't say I'm not trying to help you with this...

Philip Schofield: Is the delay essentially trying to spread this out so it doesn’t all happen at once and overwhelm the NHS, and that you can actually delay it into perhaps the summer when it’s a little bit quieter and the ordinary flu might have died down a wee bit, is that what you’re doing?

Boris Johnson: Well it’s a very, very important question, and that’s where a lot of the debate has been and one of the theories is, that perhaps you could take it on the chin, take it all in one go and allow the disease, as it were, to move through the population, without taking as many draconian measures. I think we need to strike a balance, I think it is very important, we’ve got a fantastic NHS, we will give them all the support that they need, we will make sure that they have all preparations, all the kit that they need for us to get through it. But I think it would be better if we take all the measures that we can now to stop the peak of the disease being as difficult for the NHS as it might be, I think there are things that we may be able to do

Let me give you another English comprehension test using the same structure that Boris used, to see if you can get it this time:

One of the theories is that perhaps Karma Jawa Karma Jawa is a bit thick and lacks the intelligence to comprehend spoken and written language. But I think it would be better to think of him as just suffering from Boris Derangement Syndrome.

Question: Am I saying that I think you are lacking in intelligence in this sentence, or do I just think that your mental faculties have been knocked off-kilter due to political ideology?

Take your time...

You’re clearly a retard. A damning commentary on existing assistance. If you can, try reading back through the posts and seeing if you can comprehend some vague meaning easily grasped by less disabled interlocutors.

Kudos though. You’re posting online! Next stop, feeding yourself hand to mouth! We believe in you!!!

For the first time in my life... I don’t want to live in the nyc area anymore. Not brooklyn, not queens, not Suffolk county... I’m thinking Alaska

It’s looking like wise move would be to take a huge chunk out of my retirement at this point. I didn’t really plan for disaster...

I’ll give it a month before I turncoat and work for my brother for a bit and hunt down cash before the. big time opens up again... sounds like at least two more months to me.

that and being concerned I’ll survive this shit anyway... for fucks sake

I thought this was a well known fact that people can and will be reinfected.

According to who? Someone brought that up at the White House briefing today and Fauci appeared to shoot it down, saying that he'd need to look more closely at the details surrounding the cited case.

I wouldn't be a surprise if there is a little but measurable bit of migration from urban to rural regions after this is all said and done. For us, it's accelerated our decision-making around this.

I bet a lot of people will be leaving California and New York after this. I've thought more about leaving recently. I probably won't leave any time soon, but it's tempting. For me and most of the people I know it comes down to the fact that we have family here, and if we leave we lose the support system we have.

I have this dream of moving out by Oklahoma city. I've never been there but one of my cousins moved there. If I saved up for a few more years, I could buy a house right off the bat. I want to own some land and raise livestock, and to try to grow a large portion of my own food. I don't want to make a business out of it, I just think it would be fun to do in my spare time. My family thinks I'm crazy for having this kind of dream, something like "you know outside of California the whole country is really just methed up cowboys and rednecks who have sex with their cousins."

Or my dad "I drove through Oklahoma once. It's a state full of trailer parks. Whole state, they all live in trailer parks. It's depressing. I'd rather shoot myself."

Goes way back to february when they reported in china that people who got reelased from the hospital after they recovered they got reinfected.

I knoe peak prosperity was talking aboutbit too a while ago.
To me it was a know fact.

And this just me but i would never trust a hillary operative who already said some stuff that turned out to be wrong.

Well, got tested today. I've had a persistent cough for about 3 weeks but I've been working from home, so no biggie. However, I'm supposed to work in the hospital soon and they won't even let me in the door with a cough unless I've been tested negative. So, the swabs went up my nose today. Surprisingly that shit hurt. Like, I could feel the pain radiate from my sinus when they stuck that fucking thing up there. Should hopefully find out by tomorrow if I'm negative, which I fully expect to be.

I wont necessarily agree with him. But if you look at the charts, you will notice that basically all of the European countries had a peak day on March 24th, and then declined since then. Italy, Spain, Germany, most of the Nordic countries, Aurstria. Pretty much all show the same patter of a high on the 24th of March and then a start to decline.

And in North America you can see Canada and the US are also following a bit of the same trajectory. Most of Canada's cases or on the east coast like the US, and Quebec like the New York area accounts for most of the cases. Meanwhile in BC and Alberta case volumes are very low much like the US in Cali, Washington, and middle America.

According to Van der Voort ninety percent of the seriously ill patients have a BMI of over 25. This is likely because the Coronavirus is constructed in such a way that, once in the lungs, it sticks more easily to adipose tissues.
Jeez. 25 BMI is right on the border between the very low end of the "overweight" range, and the upper end of the "normal" range. It's like you're barely allowed any body fat, or you're screwed.

I wish my government would do this. I want to get a mask but I can't find any.

To be honest we werent expecting it, but they have been dealing with it in such an "extreme" way we're glad they did it.

Once again, we're such a small population, the way we are dealing with it locally, its complete opposite to what the country has been doing (they didnt impose obligatory mask, but the locals did itm amosngst other things)....we're glad our president did what he did, obviously hes thinking of his political stance, however, so far, everyone is incredibly happy with it, but its a political stance that he clearly won.

I live in WA and there was a camera guy for the local NBC affiliate that got the virus. They talked with him a couple weeks ago...dude looked to be in his 30's and 300+ lbs. He only had mild symptoms and fully recovered. In fact, he just returned back to work...

So I guess he was lucky.

I thought this was a well known fact that people can and will be reinfected.

Prolonged, intermittent viral shedding is fairly common for respiratory infections, which could explain the recurrent positive test without them being re-infected. But what's even more likely is that this is just an artifact of the test we use - the current COVID test is only abut 70% sensitive, meaning that about 30% of positive cases are missed. These people were likely just false negatives on the initial clearance test.

Also, I don't think there is any concrete evidence that people can be re-infected. Yet. Too early to be re infected anyways. We'll have to wait until the fall to see what happens.

Conditional probability of (being obese) given (having severe symptoms) is high.
However, I do not think the conditional probability of (having severe symptoms) given (being obese) is that high, the second one could 10%.

My dad got a surprise food delivery from hospice care. Problem is 75% of the items were expired. Looks like it came from the local food pantry where almost everything is expired.

This fucking city, man. Add that dipshit Sisolak in and whew.

Chinese quality 👌

I can barely express how much I fucking hate China (the govt, not the people) right now.

So, my mom got food assistance from the government many years back. What I found out is that everything gets donated by stores right before the expiration date, cause then they can't sell them to the public. Most of the food will expire before they give it out.

Now take a deep breath before you read the next sentence. Expiration dates are not scientific, they are meaningless. Some food will actually go bad before the expiration date, if stored well most of it can last far longer. You should treat expiration dates on food like most people treat speed limits, they are suggestions. I have eaten a variety of foods in ways that are not recommended. I've eaten a bunch of expired food, meat that was not properly refrigerated, undercooked meat, the only time I think I've gotten sick from food is at a restaurant.

They put expiration dates on water. Think about it, that's how dumb expiration dates are.

I Hear you. I know that dairy products and the dates on them are nebulous, as long as you know their origin, have adequate storage, and they have not been left in the sun to get ripe & coagulated in the summer, you can get some mileage out of the expiration.

However, regarding water expiration dates, that may have to do with the plastic containers offgassing (or whatever the chemical breakdown is called) into the water for ingestion at a later date. Or, that is how I believe it to be...and I could be wrong, but some containers are less inert than others.

Here in my area the cases are dropping per day. Today we only had 20 something not sure due to no testing or why but if this continues i can see us going back to normal very soon.
But the only way we would be able to keep it low once we go back is if we still have the borders closed .

In fact i think borders will be closed for the whole year to avoid new break outs from people coming in from infected areas
Fucking hell France 1300 dead in a day? US 32k new cases in a day ?! wut
Where is some cases/deaths counter daily ?

Yeah I don't toss everything out just because of the date but a lot of the food has been stale. It's edible but it's noticably stale. This is especially true with a lot of cereal. Dairy obviously is a lot more to consider with their dates.

You're probably not storing it in optimal conditions. Youve got it keep it in the bag, only cut one corner to pour the cerial out of and then roll and clip that corner. Ikea sell a pack of clips for this although you'll find them in other places. Even a clothes peg would work.

ABC News (Australia), channel 24 are talking about the origin of the virus and how it travelled around the world right now.

I'm glad this is being talked about on the news... China deserve a big kick up the arse once this is all over.

Be careful reading stats like that. If 90% of victims have over 25 bmi... then i can also say 90% of victims have over 20 bmi. And 90% of victims have over 5 bmi.

To put it another way - if 89% of victims had bmi over 35, and bmi of 25-34 only accounted for another 1%, you could say '90% of victims have a bmi over 25'... even though that would be entirely misleading.

That is to say, you should not read '90% of people have over 25 bmi' and think people with 25 bmi are screwed. Thats just not how numbers work. We would need to see raw data.
