Sure

But PS4 wasn't BC, while PS5 is, that's the difference

Again if it's gonna be just a res, fps update it be meh tbh, thing should just be a free update.

But if they would add some new stuffs, and with new graphics (ala SOTC), now that would be worth it (there were some levels found in datamining that didn't make it in the final product for whatever reason , not expecting things but just saying)

Do you have any runors on any other games one in particular that sounds like "so calm"

If Sony is truly willing to do a reveal for remaster of Bloodborne, i can totally see other remaster games reveal along. Like from Capcom for example, Street Fighter V "New name Edition" would be one of them.

People were pointing out how Sony would want a news cycle all to themselves. Well if they do not go next week, like Thursday or Friday, but postpone to the week after, they will be stuck between all the other third party events that were also postponed to that week. So no news cycle all their own. They have to go next week.

My hunch is that Sony have already made the decision to hold the event late next week and have notified other outlets which might explain why all the others have already postponed there own events from next week and moved up further.

Also anyone know whether the event is being live streamed or pre-recorded like the Cerny talk which they'll just premier on Youtube.

The latest DKs that I knew of were all black and it was hard to tell size wise what I saw but was sleeker looking, more polished of a design.

I heard within the last 2 days another wave of DKs were going out late this week/early next week.

I do not know what to expect with this kit.

All before lunch kind of hungry guesses.

what about dualsense controllers with the latest devkits? how are devs supposed to code for all those haptic feedback sensors if they're using DS4's or prototype dualsense's (blocky-looking DS4 with a screen on them), as seen in previous pics. Surely all collecting and processing that haptic feedback takes a toll on what they can allocate towards running their games?

I think the XsX SSD is about 75%-85% of PlayStation 5's SSD speed and I/O bottleneck removal based on: my opinion and impression. That is sufficient enough because the rest of XsX beats PS5 hands down in terms of graphics performance on paper especially when outputting True 4K resolution at 30fps minimum.

Thanks PS5 SSD Next-Gen Thread OT.

So around 4.4 GB/s when it comes to the raw speed?

I'm curious at how you arrived at that conclusion.

That would be great.... but absolutly not what has been rumored. I would be floored to see a ~4TF portable. Especially one with a battery life >45min
Just purchase the optional tesla powerwall battery life extender problem solved!

If this BloodBorne remaster rumor is true and Sony actually charge existing users for it, then I'm going to give them a lot of shit. And it has nothing to do with so that, 'Studio who put the work in get paid'. Well, that's Sonys' prerogative, pay them a huge stack of cash or cut them a certain %. It's their headache. MS have a dedicated BC team whose sole purpose is to enhance the existing games for future consoles, I'm sure they are being paid well.

There are folks who paid full price for this game, some picked it up for cheap, and held onto it in hope Sony would bother with a Pro patch. Which never arrived, now once they are actually putting the effort in, which is only accessible via gateway hardware i.e. (PS5, you'd still need to buy it) and then ask existing users to pay for it? What a huge slap in the face. Ideally, they'd just put out a new SKU for fresh users who are jumping into the eco-system and offer the upgrade free of cost for existing users (cause they'd still have to buy your PS5 to play in first instance). But, current strategy seems to be of, charge existing users for upgrade, charge new users the same, and oh, if there are people who don't want to pick up the hardware, well we're putting out a PC SKU as well. It just reeks of maximizing profits, and while from business standpoint it makes a lot of sense, in the end they're shafting the long term users, which is what SlimySnake SlimySnake alluded to in his posts.

I really hope they don't hang us existing users out to dry by charging for remasters, it's a tired philosophy and I gave them a pass for it due to BC issues from PS3 -> PS4. But, for next-gen there is zero excuses to do so, especially when their biggest competitor is going all-out when it comes to Enhanced BC.

Since when basic maths are opinion.

Its about nuances of the XsX SSD that I am not quite sure about and its more on the software side (DirectStorage API, SFS, etc). I am not a tech junkie, engineer, programmer to know about this, and that is ok. My impression is that it is sufficient enough for games to be designed around XsX SSD for it to have "LODs and Billions of Triangles" at 4k 30fps.

Sony has a lot of dedicated hardware and uses software in conjunction with their I/O so I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion.
