Hopefully today we'll get to see and hear how well Ryan implemented Kutaragi's age-old scheme.

This is why Sony is the Juggernaut of Entertainment. It's hard to beat a company that most of its products circulates around entertainment! Sony's main purpose is to bring joy and smiles to our lives! I'm getting their new car system soon as well, with probably a set of speakers.

Yup, and it's standard 2.0 Channel, I believe, so no gimmicks to muddy the sounds coming from the tempest! I might buy them first for gaming then if not satisfied I would just use them for video editing. But there are fakes out there so better get them from trusty sources like from Sony vendor in Amazon:

Try different ones, some are annoying and can press the nerves around your ears which can result in that bad feeling. Watch more reviews and try some headsets as everyone had a headset that fits him the most.

I spend endless ours with small headphones like this one for PC and netflix, pretty cheap and good sound quality with high volume. Sony 410c, came with my old Xperia Z3 years back and still holding:

And the Astro A40 is quite comfy, although bad bass performance. The fabric can suit your perfectly as it's cooler and more comfy than leather, I prefer leather for more isolation though:

Check around and watch youtube reviews, you might get one that suits you, and doesn't need to be something expensive (except if you wanna enjoy the Dolby Atmos on XSX).

I've tried various 3d audio video clips (and I found this to be the best to give me a solid orientation of where the sounds are coming from) and I've tried four different earphones and one headphone.

FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I CANNOT PERCEIVE 3D AUDIO.

I can understand the sound coming from the right ear or the left (of course) but I cannot perceive a solid fix in locations between 'left', 'left front' or 'left surround'. Left sounds a bit more muffled than 'Left Front', but other than that, I do not understand where exactly in the left the sound is coming from. Heck my TELEVISION'S speakers gave me a better understanding of something sounding BEHIND my TV set, rather than the earphones themselves.

And I hear comments from people on YouTube claiming that they listen to perfect 3D audio with 5$ earphones, and it's pissing me off!! I even heard the infamous barbershop 3d audio clip, and I wasn't impressed in the slightest. My 5.1 Dolby system does a much better job at giving me the illusion of real audio coming from all around me.



After this, I'm hesitant on spending 150$ on the PS4 platinum headphones when I don't think I'll understand the difference.

Have you tried watching with over ear vs in ear/earbuds?

If that doesn’t work, your HRTF profile is likely vastly different than the ones they’re using for these videos.

Just means your HRTF profile is far from the default used to process these Audio. Sony has said they will be providing 5 options at launch so hopefully your HRTF falls within range of one of the 5 options. There is still hope.

If you do not perceive that locality, you may have a pretty wild HRTF, it can happen. Sure, the binaural panning in the first video could be better, but it is distinguishable. So, I would recommend that you wait and try the HRTF profiles PS5 is going to have at launch and see if one of them suits you.

I'm using cheap (free) headphones and it's pretty clear to me. Maybe try something else? What are you using there? It could be mono by the way. The barber video is quite creepy and makes me scratch my head lol.

I haven't used that specific wheel, but I don't think you can go wrong with Thrustmaster wheels. Just keep in mind the more expensive you go, the higher quality force feedback you will get, which will just enhance the experience even more by being able to feel more and more road detail through the wheel. That being said, the T150 is probably a really nice wheel to dip your toe into the sim racing space, and see if it's something you'd like to spend more on later down the line.

Exactly, before I go all in I just want to see the immersion tht the wheels provide before I go crazy. If I like it at some point I'll Def upgrade.
